Hmm this episode was fun. We got a sleepover and I think the boys enjoyed gossiping at night.

I guess the show decides to take a break from the usual athletics stuff this episode. For what's worth, I think this show still has a lot of potential when it comes to to tourism. It explores other places besides the school environment with the students going to other places. Not bad.

That ending.
Setsuko has it rough with that guy but it was funny to watch.
And it seems the teacher has a hard time controlling her feelings as well, she will have a rough time like that.

Anyway taking the phones from students in this day and age!!
I personally find that very strange since it's a way to contact them and you will know they will try to smuggle one in anyway.
The episode was nice as usual.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait a little more until they start dating. Anyway, this episode was interesting. There was this bit of drama and I kept thinking Hira would show up when Akane was alone waiting for Kota. I'm glad it didn't happen though. Akane jealous was pretty cute, and I hope to see her and Kota interact more in the next episodes, as they said they would in the ending. So far my pick for AOTS.

EDIT: To be honest I'm having my doubts whether they're dating or not, but I guess we'll find out next episode.

This anime is so frustrating to watch! There's beating around the bush and playing footsie and then there's Tsuki ga Kirei! It's like just talk already! Just do something already! The anime takes a generic romance concept and uses a generic approach to the genre and has the pacing of a turtle walking thru molasses on a cold day in January! Then you add in the weird 3d ish CGI background characters that aren't in every scene but rather scattered throughout the anime and it's like Where is the appeal!?! I just don't get it but I'm holding out hope that they will redeem themselves in the next few episodes. I'm not giving up on this anime just yet...

Tsuki Ga Kirei's pacing is "turtle sped" ever since the 1st episode. If you actually want the pacing to go faster it will end up ruining the anime.

Dude, they are in middle school dealing with their first love. Of course they are like that. The slow pacing is part of what makes the anime so great.

I understand not rushing a story progression but c'mon there has to be a middle ground where they can explain the characters relationship without dragging the viewer thru every mundane detail of sh...sh...sh...should I sa..sa..say something to her. It's like c'mon we're 4 episodes in now let's start moving forward a little bit

Really enjoyed this episode! Found myself caught up in the drama on how kotaro would meet up with Akane. Chinatsu is the fuckin homie for being able to read between the lines and help Kotaro and Akane out.

I also loved the little interactions from everyone in this, reminded me of my class trips in school.

Great episode.

That phone hiding in the bag of potato chips, Roman ftw. XD
The class trip was pretty fun to watch with all the fun both the guys and girls had.

Akane's friends are pretty nice, while they do want to know what's up with Akane and her interest they are not terribly invasive and know when to draw the line and I like that.
Chinatsu is great too.

To be honest, I was actually worried that Kota might not meet Akane and she might distance herself for it. I am super glad that it didn't had cause if it did then I would've been heartbroken cause I ship these two so much. xD I was so damn happy when they finally met. :D

Final scene with the both of them was just adorable, Akane's jealousy is just too cute. I'm glad they are a couple now. :)

Both our main characters are socially awkward and very shy people, it's not hard to imagine why the pacing is so slow because it's really not easy for them to talk to each other in person, that's why most of their conversations are over text. The show is paced slow to bring out their shy personalities and how they overcome their inherent social awkwardness to slowly grow closer to each other, faster pacing would just ruin all this build up cause it would be totally out of character. If you're not a shy person by nature then I assume it'd be hard to understand why it's taking them so long to even say a few words to each other. Simply put, I feel it's the slow pacing along with social awkwardness of our main couple that make this show a really pure, sweet and heartfelt romance.

That makes sense and all but it's still hard to watch as a viewer I can feel that social awkwardness coming thru the screen which is good that the anime can convey that emotion to the viewer but for me it's hard to watch. Not cringy but frustrating because you want the characters to be able to display their emotional intent for each other.

I didn't get the feeling that they were a couple based off their conversation at the end. Just that it is heading that direction and that Akane wants to talk with him more. Get to know each other better by talking before starting a relationship was my take on it. I am excited for the next episode and hope they do start dating soon. I enjoy a series so much more when it focuses on the relationship vs just getting together in the end.

While the pacing may be slow I do have to say that the MC confessing on episode three is a lot faster than most series.

I wonder if her answer would have been different if they were able to meet properly.
Either way she is not wrong in saying that they barely talked and need to get to know each other better, before starting a relationship. Although I can't help but feel that Chinatsu's role affected the last meeting outcome, even if only slightly.
Chinatsu is going for the Kotarou; she noticed Akane running away, so she could have said something then, or when he borrowed the phone. She is going to be the main problem and drama source in this anime I guess.

That drunk teacher stealing the phone was a sad view. I hope he did it only because he drank too much and not because they still do these kind of things. They barely did it in my last year of high school years ago. But then again Japan is so far ahead on many things yet so far behind on plenty of others.

I get it but it's just not in their character to be openly expressive of their emotions, even if they understand that they want to talk more with each other, their introversion prevents them from just going up to each other and talking. That's why on many occasions you notice they just glance at each other from afar, it's also why they are able to talk freely over text. Even in this particular episode where you notice Kota hesitating multiple times to go upto Chinatsu and ask for her phone is a very nice portrayal of his social awkwardness but when he eventually does you can understand that he really does want to meet Akane at all costs. It's all these little realistic touches of social awkwardness that make this show what it is. So I can only ask you to hang tight until they slowly start opening upto each other.

Akane has some really nice friends. Chinatsu is very understanding.

And thank god Kota found Akane and that she said yes because seeing them both not being able to find each other/text was hurting my soul lol

I was looking forward this episode so badly and it was over in a second, now i need my next episode. Easiest AOTS for me ever. Everything about it is just so good.
His friends were quite assholes for trying to look at his phone and even holding him just to take a look. Birth date as a password? I definitely seen this one before xD Because of them teacher took the phone too :(
Late night chatting and pretending they sleep in front of their teacher is so relatable honestly. And those girly talks about feelings are quite realistic.

I was kinda certaing that is what Akane will respond at the beginning of the episode, it was unexpected that she expressed her desire to talk more with him ( indirectly accepting to be his datepartner) She was pretty cute this episode with wanting to go and meet him, being really awkward near her friends (Thank they left her, they are really annoying as well) and being really frustrated when he wasn't coming and responding to her messages. Jesus that part is really great.

And Of course the ending is just the best thing ever. Best romance animu.

I agree with you. First she says that she doesn't know, because they can barely talk to each other, then she says she wants to talk more with him. Imo that implies that she does want to start a relationship with him, but they need to know each other better and be able to talk normally. At this point, I think both of them know the feeling is mutual.

I also think they'll start dating soon enough. I really enjoy when we get to see the relationship developing as well.

After watching the episode, I think it was a brilliant decision to move away completely from the conclusion of the episode before, the one little flashback it showed completely opened up a new path for our two love birds in training.
Man, I felt the frustration when Azumi got his phone taken away, that too in the midst of a serious conversation. However I think it folded up very nicely at the end. Azumi had to work hard for it and he did. It was such a torture to bear those few moments when Azumi missed searching for Akane, I just wanted them to meet up and ASAP. That's how brilliant I think these two episodes in particular, and the anime have been. It was a smart move to include the comedic few short-scenes at the end. This show has amazing execution and the level up in the previous two episode prove it. After 4 episodes in, this is easily my pick of the season so far.

On a side note... Japan has finally done it! Hurray!!
Kota is your typical seemingly beta and unbelievably shy MC but who has the balls to do what the viewer wants! I love him already!

Nice field trip episode and we got the first portion of drama, it was a little bit unnessescary, though.

The whole situation could've been avoided if Kotarou had spoken with her directly. I was almost in rage about his behaviour, are kids without cellphones really that helpless ? xD Well, at least it's shown like this and I have to bear with it. Apart from this minor flaw in my eyes I enjoyed this episode a lot.

I have to admit that I didnt expect all that much from this series when i heard that this anime is coming out.
I thought it will be this lighthearted style of romance but to me it feels like the show is really heavy.

That might be because of the way they present his love for books and writing in some actions he takes.
he way the both are so cute together but just like in real life things just get in the way all the time.
How they presented their distance with the tree between them aswell as the way she answered.
If her answer would have been clearer and more direct it just wouldnt be anything special.

It is quite slow paced but i dont feel like thats the case at all because in the end all that happend is having a
impact onto the story and seems to answer questions but also creating new ones.

Sadly this episode flew by in not time at all once again and i hope Feel will keep up their great job they have been doing since the start of this show.
I dont think they will mess up however because its pretty obvious that the people working on this anime love and enjoy the story just as much as we do.

The openings are just great btw. I love how they give a short episode preview towards the end of the opening.

God, this episode was so tense xD I had to keep pausing because it stressed me out to watch it xD Those kinds of misunderstandings are the worst - it was pretty much entirely out of Azumi's control, but he still ended up leaving her waiting in the rain like that and possibly costing him the chance at dating Akane ._. It's hard to say that she is wrong for feeling that way when you put it in her shoes, but...I was actually kind of worried there xD

This one has been nothing short of a beauty so far. I've loved these first 4 episodes to pieces.

was so stressed while watching it, and everytime kotarou was like "should i ask for her phone??" "should i ask for akanes number??" i was screaming YES FFS DO IT

it kinda annoyed me that kotarou didn't explain akane that he was looking for her around the town, running in the rain (that'll probably cause him to get a cold or something lik every other anime lol), and why he was using the other girl's phone. like, i'm all for jelous akane, but i just think she would've appreciated it more....

and did she say yes in the end???? are they officially dating??? or did she mean "when we've started talking more, i'll think about it"????
this anime is killing me!!!! i love it!!!!

Really enjoying this series at the moment. Even if it is a bit cringe at times.

I just hate the CGI background characters, really ruins it for me, especially during this episode when there was loads of background people about! I didn't notice it as much until now.

Plus, what is with the opening showing us scenes from the episode at the beginning? Surely that's a little bit of a spoiler. From now on I think I will just have to close my eyes until I hear the music stop.

They're just middle schoolers dealing with their first love. I don't know what kind of rush your in but haste make's waste which won't end well for either of them. They CGI background characters is a bit of a turn off for me since I don't really like them in the first place or for it to be so bold and upfront.

Dude, they are in middle school dealing with their first love. Of course they are like that. The slow pacing is part of what makes the anime so great.

I totally agree with you. This kind of anime is the ones that I real like.

So nicely put. I can see that your a fan of this type of anime also.

The whole situation could've been avoided if Kotarou had spoken with her directly. I was almost in rage about his behavior, are kids without cellphones really that helpless ? xD Well, at least it's shown like this and I have to bear with it. Apart from this minor flaw in my eyes I enjoyed this episode a lot.

I was there too. Holy cow did curly made me inner rage with his hesitation and those 1-2-3 words he barely said. For a guy that love reading and books he sure can't say much.
