is it just me or is romance in japan super akward almost all the time? "uh...uh...eh...ehm...uh....."

anyway the atmosphere is good and i also like animation, they should have reduced the glossiness though - it looks like everyone has greasy hair and wears latex clothes

Cute little coming of age slice-of-life. I personally enjoyed their awkward interactions and they seemed like relatable characters. Embarrassing parents FTW.

Cute anime, curious if the characters will have some good development. Really liked the OP. Art style is alright. I wonder what this show will bring.

OP & ED was performed by Touyama Nao...nice!
LOL at all that awkwardness on the restaurant!

I can't believe how much I love this show from just watching the first episode. I was able to relate to the protag so easily! A quite guy who's average in terms of popularity but has some really close friends. The restaurant scene? YEAH, I've experienced that as well and it was awkward af. Man, this show makes me miss my school days. Dis gon be gud.

Well this was a decent episode. The art-style is good-ish i like the colors, lighting, and shading, but some of the characters facial designs look off. sometimes the background characters are CGI and it's very easy to notice them, but at least they're in the background. The OST for the show was good as well. the starting off was pretty good, the characters went from li king each other and stuttering when they talk to somewhat talking normally to each other and getting each other LINE ID. the two main characters are decent since there is more to their characters outside of being school kids in love. there were some cringey moments, but in a good way like Kotarou opting to get iced coffe instead of soda in order to look mature in front of Akane. i think i can continue watching this

Episode as calm as Inaho's face, but feel's making it so he turns into 8man monologuing on social classes, then he reunites with Inaho-sister lookalike.
Atmosphere very nice, romance has a realistic feel (awkward teens with budding thoughts of love & social anxiety), ambient sound with lots of bg movement & smalltalk gives a lot to the sense of place (sans cg crowd).
Parents meetup lol, too real to swallow, those fathers can easily be drinking buddies.
Dazai's depressing thoughts could mess up his adolescence lol.

Pretty good directing on this episode.

Somehow the scenes with 3D characters walking in the background caught my eyes, but I'm glad everything else looks nice. I like the characters and the artstyle (reminds me of Mikakunin de Shinkoukei).

I'm curious to see how the story unfolds

I'm kind of going into this one blind, but I thought visuals were pretty interesting when I checked on it and watched the first episode.

After one episode, I have to admit that I absolutely love the aesthetic. The art and animation is downright gorgeous and I'm really digging the animation.

As for the story and characters, it was a pretty slow start. I felt the characters were almost too stilted at first. I get that they are both nervous as it is obvious that the two characters are attracted to each other, but watching them awkwardly try to talk to each other had me cringing at times...and I'm an introvert that sometimes has problems talking to people and even I thought they were too stilted.

Still, it got a little better toward the end of the episode. I will say that that restaurant scene was too surreal. It sure seemed like this pinned a family attitude in a restaurant environment down to a T. I swear that scene really reminded me of going out to eat with my family growing up.

Overall, I have a lot of high hopes for this series. I think it could be pretty damn good.

Went into this show completely blind and was pleasantly surprised by the first episode. Artwork mimicking water-coloured paintings reminiscent of Grimgar and Battery were beautiful to behold.

I also liked the fact it made use of real products to add to the realism somewhat (Line, gravures of real idol groups - anyone saw NMB48 and HKT48 in that mag that MC picked up? Too bad the restaurant scene wasn't in Wagnaria. heh)

Thought the pacing was pretty good - miles better than Orange. Definitely has potential to be a sleeper of this season.

I find it interesting to see the mixed opinions. The whole premise just makes for this kind of reactions.

I myself really enjoyed it. I like both main characters. I don't think being shy or quiet makes you boring, in the context of this specific anime, it's actually the perfect personality. And their personalities blend really well together, I find them to be a cute couple. It's fairly obvious already that they'll end up together, even though Hira, for example, likes Akane. The ending gives it away with the whole holding hands thing.

It's pretty chill, calm and cute so far, and it's been some time since I've seen anything like this. It got me interested in seeing more. Anyone's got any recommendations of chill pure romances like this one?

The enviroments are incredibly detailed, woh! Although it seems they are painfuly aware of that since there were quite many pointless cuts to irrelevant surroundings lol. Might be less of that in future episodes, possible that they just want to introduce you to what kind of place it is early on. Atleast i hope so.

Regarding the plot, seems cute so far.

Wow, what a nice surprise. Pretty nostalgic and old-school looking title, dealing with insecurities in coming of age. I like it.
And it even felt pretty real, like something that could happen to anyone. Slice-of-life at its best.

Even the animation was nice and it set the mood perfectly. And the backgrounds, the background were great.

Definitely gonna follow this, it may be a hidden gem of this season.

I really loved it, it's quite subtle, and peaceful, and it feels very real, no exaggeration like in most other slice of life, the animations are spot on too, except for the robots, just the right ratio between the amount of dialogue and the amount of silence, and best of all, the characters doesn't reflect much of a stereotype, they felt quite themselves, I think it's great that the anime didn't establish the main male as a typical loser and the main heroine as a cold hearted tsundere, by the time I finished this episode, it felt really wholesome and I believe the two main characters got lot of things that can develop to. Really look forward to the coming episodes.

I thought it was alright.
Very Colorful and vibrant which looks real good expect for the CGI people!!
I know it's cost effective to do it but it was distracting especially from the rest of the animation.
I'm not into lovey dovey crap but it seems alright.

Liked so much. It was a random pick of season for me and damn, I enjoyed a lot. Looks like ages I saw an anime where shows characters that really act like normal people, without cliches and that kind of stuff.

I'm glad I picked this today, because next episode it will be released tomorrow! :3

Great visuals (usually) and cool match cuts to add transition.
Especially great how it showed how the MC's behaved around their friends in public vs family.
Yet, I was still left wondering, "Why should I care?"
Their personality is barely shown, because all of their reactions are just what anyone in general would do, making them feel more like self-inserts like in Your Name.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a full family eating out together in an SOL anime... everyone usually eats at home in anime, lol.
I bet LINE has some kinda promotion with this anime, haha...

It's nice so far. Quite generic, but I enjoy the slow build-up, how their interaction is told simply through glances. It's nice to see an innocent romance every once in awhile. Hilarious when the parents introduced themselves before the kids. xD

I also love the design of the school. It has a lot of character compared to the generic school setting we see in most anime. "Dazai once said that the feeling of joy is perhaps like a speck of gold, glimmering faintly at the bottom of a river of grief." I've got to read Osamu Dazai now... The guy reminds me of myself in high school -- I was obsessed with Murakami and Mishima.

I don't know why but this really really annoyed me.
Pacing was slow, high school setting was uninspired and some of the CGI was just lazy and ugly.
I like the overall art style of the show, but the characters (both design and personalities) were really annoying.
Both MC's act like they are living a superhard life, when they are just normal teenagers, with nice and friendly parents, who act like normal people do. The dude's philosophical musing about nothing, can also fuck off.

I did like the part where he ordered coffee to look cool in front of her, but looking at the rest of the episode that was something rather out of character for him to do.

It's not bad. I'm interested to see where it goes. The characters seem to have realistic personalities.

But the CG made me laugh so hard. There are times to use CG and times to animate traditionally. A school crowd can be traditionally animated. But if you're going to use CG, at least make it good. XD

I personally liked the first episode as a high school student I can really relate to the embarrassment of parents and love lives. Also, that part where she says I'm gonna mess with her and then takes multiple screenshots...guilty.

My only concern is the CGI walking not very pleasant to watch, but overall solid starting episode 4/5 for me

I saw this on airing anime and the premise seemed interesting (I dig these kinds of stories) but completely forgot about it due to Saekano 2. But I got around to watching the first episode and am already hooked.

The art style is nice. The character designs are fairly reserved and it really fits well for the realistic feel they're going for here. But is it just me do the main couple look like they could be siblings? The CGI crowds and excessive sheen on characters are probably my only gripes.

The character interactions are very believable and reminds me a lot of my high school days. This will probably be my sweet and relaxing SoL anime for this season.

I'm already in love with the OP performed by the always great Nao Toyama!

The first episode is so cute and calm... this could have been perfect if they didn't use scary CGI for background characters lol.

I wonder if LINE is one of the producers of this anime? seems fishy XD
