This made me cry </3 I loved it and I loved the OSTS.
So beautiful. As soon as I saw Gin prevent the running kid from falling, I was like oh no!Dx knew it was his time and he was going to disappear T.T cried my eyes out when Gin told Hotaru she can finally hug him.

A charming little story with a bittersweet, yet satisfying ending. The length was just about the right one. Animation-wise, very normal, nothing outstanding. Furthermore, nice soundtrack and good characters. So overall an 8.5/10 for me. I wonder though... if they were able to touch each other through the mask, couldn't they be able to touch each other through a pair of good gloves? I mean.. It just makes sense XD

Extremely good for a short movie!!!!! :D

9/10

Length was a little too short AND I WANTED THEM TO KISS ON THE LIPS D;
Or have Gin come back as a human from her love ASDFGHJKL;;;; That ending would be cheesy af, but it would've left my heart happy TT^TT
But a sad story is fine too /SOBSSSSSSS

GIN WAS SO HAWT.
Wish Hotaru grew her hair out and was extra beautiful, but yeah ;~;
Wonderful.

FINALLY! Another romance anime that didn't piss me off. I was so anxious to watch this movie because of the romance, and I highkey detest romance genre with a passion, but holy shit this movie was so good and sooo sad.

I cried when they hugged. What the fuck. What the fuck. Poor Gin. That was the stupidest way to touch a human, but fuck! Curse that child who tripped that Gin had to save him. Hahaha.

And it's a miracle, too, that a lead female character didn't piss me off, too. Ugh. Because most of the girls in a romance anime are so fucking annoying, but not Hotaru.

I can't help, but fall in love with Gin because he looks so much like Natsume Takashi. Well, it's from the same mangaka, soo..

This movie's definitely a 9/10 for me, but I don't think I'm gonna rewatch it again soon because it hurts so much. Forfucksake. This anime movie's so cruel.

P.S. This romance movie deserves to be on top and not the Kimi no Na Wa shit.
P.P.S. I can't believe I loved and enjoyed another romance anime just like Ore Monogatari!! <3

The best was the final; sad final!!!!
It was a nice animation full of feelings when the love is the center of this fatastic romance between a girl and a Youkai!!!!

The animation style remenber to much to Natsume anime series... if possible in a future a crossover!!! kekeke

Wordless. I'm stumped, I don't know if I accepted this incredible and exciting end... It was very fun and dramatic, I had to hold the cry. A wonderful novel! It's possible to predict the future of the story, it's difficult to evaluate!

So this is where the tradition of doomed romances between humans and yokai in Natsume Yuujinchou began - this story feels superior to all of them, though, being the progenitor. Never fails to pull the heartstrings. 8/10.

How come my favorite most beautiful romances are always the one that disappears eventually but in a final ultimate act of love... It crushes me every time but the build-up was so sweet.

That kid might've killed him but they both acknowledged that it'll end someday. So sudden though ;-; That hug with the intense music gives me both shivers and sadness.

Since there was no witness, it was all a hallucination.
And still, Bill will live on.
He will befriend the next inhabitants of the earth, beings of light who revere him as a god.
And Bill will outlive them all... for millions and millions of years...exploring, learning, living,
until the earth is swallowed beneath his feet.
Until the sun is long since gone.
Until time loses all meaning and the moment comes that he knows only the positions of the stars
and sees them whether his eyes are closed or open.
Until he forgets his name and the place where he'd once come from.
He lives and he lives until all of the lights go out.

I loved this movie, although it was short and I wished it was longer man. They were able to capture me with a mere 44 min, unlike some series that don't even captivate after 25eps or more. I loved the relationship between Gin and Hotaru, they made me want to see them more together.

The way Gin disappeared was sudden though and painful for me, I wished they didn't have to touch in that painful experience. If it was a full series I would watch it, even though ROM ain't my forte.

8/10.

Oh my god... That was beautiful! Such an amazing tale through time. Hotaru growing up and started to develop romantic feelings for Gin was brilliantly executed. They've spent such wonderful memories together, playing exploring and an occasional wood smack. Gin, finally inviting Hotaru to the mystical Spirit Summer-festival and actually going out on a date was just amazing.

Their farewell is sure short, but will definitely leave a long-lasting memory on Hotaru. That hug near the end was... *Oh my Kokoro* However sad it might be, those joyful moments will shine the sadness away!

Almost made me tear up, but man was this a beautiful short movie...

i dont know what everyone sees with this yeah it was cute yeah it had some awesome soundtracks but the whole thing was just so... underwhelming the SPOILER ALERT death at the end was one of the most poorly done death scenes ive ever seen in an anime i wasn't sad when i saw it my thoughts were more wait what? it felt like such a cop out after a really nice cute kiss scene that had me thinking it was going somewhere then it ended i think the biggest weakness here was the runtime if it were a full length movie it would probably be known as one of the greats like your name but it just didnt get enough time to do anything worthwhile

It was a good 7/10, the beginning was boring (4/10) the moment when every year went by was actually good (8-9/10) then the end... Damn the end was bad and botched holy f***... 5 mins credits with "ok" music for 11% of the 45 mins movie...

I don't really know what to think of it, it was a long anime episode i'd say quite ok to watch.. Wouldn't recommend but worth the time i guess.

Film that has not had an echo in the movie theaters here, so it will be unknown to most (speaking of that slice of people who don't hang out in the Japanese anime world), a real shame because despite being a medium-length film based on the story of the author Yuki Midorikawa (Natsume Yujinchou), turns out to be pleasant, delicate as "almost" all the stories of the writer, nice and funny. The movie, well directed by Takahiro Omori (his talents can also be seen in works like Baccano !, Durarara !! and Kuragehime), manages to close the circle and give the viewer a message in the finale. Narration that turns out to be like the soundtrack, very beautiful and suitable for what is described in the film, if in the final you run away "some" tear, it is not a strange thing, indeed it would be anomalous the opposite. The ending is very catchy, drawings and backgrounds of good workmanship despite not being a real movie.

This movie was the very first anime movie I had ever watched, back when I sort of disliked anime. I just rewatched it again, now a fan of anime. I remember what (begrudgingly) struck me at the time was how beautiful the story was. And after rewatching it, it's no less beautiful nor bittersweet. Loved the simplicity yet ethereal beauty of this. Wish it was just a bit longer.

While I felt this was a tad bit short, the chemistry between Hotaru and Gin was really wholesome, and it ended on a nice bittersweet note. The animation was above average and at times gorgeous, while the soundtrack was very hit or miss, sometimes being almost comically bad in its misfitting of the scene. 7/10.

This was such a nice short film. I like how they keep it so simple and short and just revolves around the relationship of Gin and Hotaru. It’s sad that Gin ended up in an unexpected manner but the film will not have a huge impact I think if it didn’t happen.

I watched this movie because I was looking for something under an hour and didn't care much else what it was. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Wonderful setting and character design, and a simple yet moving story. I appreciate an anime being able to dive into concepts like young love without straying into "FBI Open Up" territory.

Altogether, a pure and touching flash in the pan- solid 8/10.

I really enjoyed this movie. I loved the fact that Gin and Hotaru's friendship/romance had a natural feeling towards it. There are only 2 things that I didn't like, 1. The length, this could've easily been at least, 1 hour and 30 minutes and still would've been interesting. 2. I predicted the ending, it alluded to the fact that he was going to try to either touch her or someone else when he was reaching out for her when she fell off the tree. Overall 8/10
