This is an anime website that reports news and the such. Me commenting saying "I can't believe Sunshine sold that much" doesn't mean jack all at what you're trying to say. You must be new because this happens on every sales thread, and every thread possible revolving around sales.Tyrel said: I can't believe Sunshine got 66k sales+ despite it being so much worse compared to the other Love Live. That's idol anime for you... And fyi, I don't care what the Japanese fans think. I'm saying what I think. There's a big difference. Well spoken, you have all the right to express your opinion despite that japanese decide what the sales are. Just becouse they can does not mean we have to agree. I have not watched any of the Love Live but i will since i wanna know what the fuss is all about and why it is so popular. |

Nice to see it could actually average over 10k for the entire release, especially since the best was that 13-18 episode. The whole LL phenom is lost on me. The show itself is really is not anything special. Yeah same here. Don't get me wrong I like Love Live, I enjoyed both LL and LLSS but I don't really see anything special except the music. Well, everything has its own audience. But, I do not understand the format that is based only on the "choose your favorite girl," and nothing more. |

Haha, I predicted that Sunshine would sell over 60k copies and it happened. Not surprising. I really hope Sunshine gets 2nd Season because I love Sunshine. I don't care if it's just a "carbon copy" or so the haters claim because I don't really see Sunshine that way anymore after watching Episode 8. Also, I want to see more of my best girls Chika and You. I wish I could buy that Japanese Blu-Ray. I want those in-game stickers for Love Live School Idol Festival, goddammit. At least, FUNimation licensed the series so I don't have to wait a whole damn year just for the English Blu-Ray release (looking at you NIS America) and the price for the Blu-Ray release will be decent so Sunshine will be the 3rd Love Live Blu-Ray on my shelf. P.S Seeing as how the Love Live franchise sells shit tons of copies, why can't Sunrise and the production comittee produce a 26 episode series like what Kyoto Animation did with the 2nd Season of K-On? Right now, they know that Sunshine and the whole franchise in general is a huge economic success. They're not risking anything if they produce a 26 episode series. I just didn't like how the 2nd Season of Love Live had a lot of time skips because it was only 13 episodes. I don't want Sunshine to have the same time skips as the Love Live 2nd Season, when it gets a 2nd Season. |

wow the threshold this week is so high... Not even a point trying to find stuff like aderamin in that list lol, no way it's here with such threshold. And wow stuff like masou gakuen at 1.8k? Well, anime watchers continue to decide what they want to get animated among light novels. I can only hope sukasuka is going to work, for once. That would really, really saddens me if it were shunned in favour of the ecchi harem show of that season. And just imagine how many anime series this season could have decent sales if those 66k divided themselves across less successful show of this season. Too bad. |

There is a sticker of the Chika UR card but it is a physical sticker you can stick on a binder or a lunchpail. It is not inside the game. They don't put game serial codes in BDs or CDs for LoveLive anymore. I believe it is actually against AppStore rules to have items not sold through the appstore so they had to stop doing that. So if that's why you want to buy it, you can save your money but I still think it's a very nice package even without game codes. I got my copy last week and the live event footage is great on its own, nearly 2 hours worth. Why don't they have 26 episodes? Because 13 episodes per season is LoveLive's formula. They will surely have a second season, 13 more episodes of course, and a movie most likely. It works for them so they won't change it. It is selling way more than enough for them to continue making it. |

As for the live event footage, it's not my thing so I won't watch it. Thanks for the warning though. Loved the original LL and all it's characters, music, story. LL SS, was a sad disappointment. I figured they would just copy and paste, only thing I liked from Sunshine is Riko and the OP and ED. Not surprised it sold so much though. Haifuri though. SEASON 2. SEASON 2. |

Also, I want to see more of my best girls Chika and You. I don't see how some people still claim that Sunshine is a carbon copy of the original when the anime's main storyline for its season 1 is how to shine with µ's, and not like µ's. It took a while for them to get there, but I think it had a good buildup. Sometimes, the anime itself poked fun of its similarities with the original implying that they are self-aware of it. So I can't help but think that those that still complains haven't finished watching the anime or was not paying too much attention. If that's not the case for you, then I apologize if I somehow offended you. Moving on, even the characters themselves aren't carbon copy. They have their own uniqueness to boast about. Sure, they have minute similarities, but can anyone actually write a completely unique character? If someone can, I'll offer my whole life to him in a heartbeat. Let's take Honoka and Chika as an example. Both are genki air-heads that are very impulsive. But while Honoka charges blindingly towards her objectives, Chika checks first if it's realistic. And if it's not, she'll find a way around it. I also personally don't think Honoka has the qualities of a good leader which Chika showed countless times during the season. Lastly, Chika has a clear reason why she wants to be a school idol which Honoka sorely lacks - she merely wants to be one. However, it is also not fair to compare these 2 sets of characters this early-on. µ's had more screentime so they have more depth than Aqours. We still have our biases within us and that is inevitable. On the other hand, if you're complaining that sunshine feels too similar (not because it is a "carbon copy") to the original, that's most likely a business strategy. Love Live has an existing fanbase; doing a very different installment would alienate these fans. Just imagine watching a Michael Bay film without explosions. Won't a fan of his feel conflicted? They need to have the same formula and at the same time make it fresh. Of course, I won't say that Sunshine is flawless; it has its own hiccups that I won't even bother to enumerate here. µ's is still my favorite so this post is not created by a fanboy desperately trying to protect his babies. But you catch my drift, right? |

Then I realized that they didn't and they just wanted to hate on Sunshine for being "carbon copy". jc9622 said: I don't care if it's just a "carbon copy" or so the haters claim because I don't really see Sunshine that way anymore after watching Episode 8. We still have our biases within us and that is inevitable. julyan said: Actually, I wasn't complaining. I put a quote on the word carbon copy because I was quoting the mindless haters hating on Sunshine. You have a point there. It's like what the Call of Duty franchise is doing right now. They're changing the entire feel of the game which isn't COD anymore. Sunshine could have gone that same route but they didn't because they know what the fans love about the franchise and that's how the writers wrote Sunshine, while doing something different. I've linked the footage below, but clearly those announcements meant a lot to the μ's seiyuu. I believe they want to have a similar emotional effect at Aqours 1st live, but perhaps Aqours are fully expecting a 2nd Season announcement as they've watched all of μ's' live concerts on BD. |

What are Aqours going to be emotional about during their first live, that they didn't out sell 82k? Dude, work is work. I don't think you understand what it is to be a seiyuu. Seiyuu appreciate every single opportunity they could get. We clearly do not know what the Love Live! production committee is thinking, but what if they aren't satisfied with Aqours clearly selling lower than their predecessors? What if they don't go ahead with a 2nd Season? Aqours is under a lot of pressure due to the high expectations, because they are the successors of the extremely popular and successful μ's. I would expect them to be emotional when a 2nd Season is announced at the 1st live, because then it is clear that the production committee thinks they have what it takes to surpass μ's in the future, which is what they want to see. Yes, μ's journey is literally a rags to riches story, which is why they were so emotional during those 2 key live concerts, but that doesn't mean Aqours won't feel emotional for securing more work than they already have with the music and the live concerts. jayvee2016 said: *1. 66,745 66,745 Love Live! It really baffles me why it wasn't done at the Super Saitama Arena from the start. Even with just the Arena Mode (which is 27,000 capacity compared to the full 37,000 capacity of the Stadium Mode), Aqours could easily fill that over 2 days. It looks like μ's might not be able to secure a Top 10 ranking in the 2016 Oricon Top 100 Music Artist Total Sales, due to having released so little this year (Final LoveLive!, μ's Live collection, and MOMENT RING single), and the Movie BDs are not credited towards μ's (so that's 2.46 billion yen for the Movie BDs, that's not included in the μ's sales figure). Someone on 2ch calculated that their total sales for 2016 is at 2.243 billion yen right now... which is roughly Top 15 level. Of course, the Final LoveLive! Memorial BOX might get to 100,000 Oricon sales, which would add another 600 million yen to the earnings. Unfortunately we haven't heard of any release date for the Complete Best BOX album that was announced at the Final LoveLive!, which would have surely brought their earnings to over 3 billion yen in 2016. μ's made 3.1485 billion yen in 2015, to rank 8th overall, so that would've very likely have been enough to rank in the Top 10. tsubasalover said: Ejc said: I don't know the detail but I guess it was changed that we don't include live discs anymore.Did the rules change or something? Love Live Sunshine is such a brilliant retard check honestly. Seriously there is nothing in the directing, cinematography, music, character design, pacing, whatever you want to critique there is nothing that is subpar to the original. Fans spoke, haters will continue to look ignorant on forums. If you did not enjoy it that is completely fine, enjoying the original cast more, the original music more, all fine. To say that it is not an equal production to the original however would simply be choosing to be ignorant. |

Vol.1 everyone saying New Game! is selling well... and those number are nice don't get me wrong... but didn't they expect a bit more from estimates and all or am I mixing things up here? I had my hopes a little higher up for this so kinda torn. Obviously 5.7k is still amazing but expected more :( 6,452 with the DVD sales. Its estimate was 6.2~6.3k, so it was just right in the end. Better than being wildly overestimated, I would say... ah okay, I somehow had some high 7k, low 8k in mind. Guess that was something else or an old estimate. |

It was probably an older estimate before the final estimate. Generally, estimates on Amazon Stalker are not that accurate until around 1 week before the release date, because the estimate can be heavily influenced by the past 7 days performance per how the estimation formula works. |

Infatuate said: I want to watch LL sunshine but I don't like rehashes. Was it so hard to come up with a somewhat original storyline? You'll find the first six episodes tracks the original closely in structure and in terms of parallels but with differing details. The last seven are by no means rehashes what-so-ever. So, don't just drink the Kool-aid of LL Sunshine "Ripoff" assertions - I have a suspicion most of those people quit on the show in three episodes. It is extremely difficult, and I've not seen anyone made an actual case beyond a drive-by assertion, to claim that the events of Episode 7 on have much in the way of parallels to the original, never mind being rehashes. Now, if your complaint is that the premise is the same, then, you do have a point. However, keep in mind different story-lines can be run with the exact same premise. |

I am honestly not surprised at how the sales turned out for Love Live Sunshine, in all honesty I think it is way better than the original in all honesty (this is coming from someone who isn't the biggest fan of Love Live) |

Thought Joker Game was more Western taste, but nice Japan recognize good art & story, even if episodic. |
