Yeah for some reason i really enjoyed these moments far more in the manga. Think it also has to be with the cliff hanger. The manga ended it with sanji's revelation of "only alive" where is the anime ended it with the start of the filler arc. Also the translation was not up to par, "throne wars" was kind of a big monumental declaration in the manga story line that Doffy was taking bout and they completely omitted that in the anime. If you watch enough anime you start to understand what some of the Japanese wording says, and the translation so far off. |

Super interesting episode with so much informations. As a non manga reader and after such a long time I had never expected to see Rob Lucci and Kaku again. But after I heard Kakus voice (also the voice of Kuchiki Byakuya from Bleach), I knew it. The other one with the mask was Spandam right? Maybe in the future we will see some other member of the previous CP9. That's definitely a little bit scary. So now the Dressrosa arc is finally over. Nice to see that everything is going well for the people there. Luffy and Usopp got an giant statue beside Kyros, so cool :D Doflamingos speech was amazing. Without him restraining all these "monsters" it will be chaos for sure. And he's right, that will also be the beginning for something big. There's nobody at the top of all pirates like Whitebeard. Hmm I have no clue about this Jack guy but he must be really strong if he alone wants to free Doflamingo. And of course Bartolomeo as the absolute rank 1 strawhat fanboy xD With most of the strawhats on his ship it must have been like birthday + christmas together for him. ^^ I loved to see the new bounties. Everyone made a big jump between 50 to 100 million on his old bounty. Luffy and Law 500 million Berry is crazy. Is it only me or got everyone a new picture? Sanji finally a normal pic instead of this bad drawing before haha. I don't know why only "alive", does any manga reader know something about it? Curious about that guy at the end. Next week begins the filler arc which will lead to the upcoming One Piece Gold. Can't wait to see this :) |

Tbh, while Lucci's cool and all, I didn't really care about Lucci as much as the other members; mostly Kaku, Kalifa, and Jabra. It is nice to see him again, though. Kaku was shown too Yes I know that... I'm just saying, though. |

Doflamingo's speech was pretty good. His speech sounded like a trailer for the ultimate battle in One Piece! Also, Straw Hat pirates' bounties increased: the big three are Luffy, Zoro and Usopp. Sanji has the fourth highest bounty and is only wanted alive - not dead. Rob Lucci made an appearence, probably as CP0 agent. And finally, the arc is over! |

Finally we got some quality comedic episode! It's been years since the last one, geez. It was pretty good too, made me miss good ol' days before the time skip, when there a lot more episodes like this one :< Also, I'm sooo glad this dreadful arc is over, at last! I thought I wouldn't make it a few times. I don't think I'd enjoy it more even in the manga :( Hopefully the next one is better... What an episode damn 5/5 The problem with dressrossa that it was too long rather than that it was enjoyable enough for me I watched the whole dressrossa arc in 6 days maybe that's why I found it great I feel sorry for people who watched it one episode per week I can't do that it would be a huge pain really lol I think the best way to enjoy one piece is to put it on hold for at least 2 years then marathon it ifyou do that I think most people wont complain about being slow Since also the next yonku saga undoubtedly longer than dressrossa lol All my friends who marathoned the whole 117 episodes of dressrossa after it finished enjoyed it so much maybe I wouldnt say that if I watched it in two years of course it would be a terrible and the worst arc for me but thanks God one piece is still one of my favourite Time to put it on hold after 756 episodes Why don't you all put it on hold too maybe it becomes better for you |

The Dressrosa arc is officially done! So it looked like Jack was gonna try to get Doffy back but the other dude who was with him didn't seem too enthusiastic lol Honestly though, since this is Doflamingo we're talking about, I will not be convinced that he's locked up for good until I see him chained up way down in Level 6 like Ace was. His speech was awesome, as was that really unsettling theme that always plays whenever he does something creepy. Doffy reminded me of some crazy heretic dude with all his mad predictions, but no doubt they'll come true. I did burst into laughter when he requested a daily newspaper though XD I don't think we've seen the end of him yet, at least I hope not anyway. Also FRICKIN' LUCCI Spandam AND KAKU!!! Second half was great too, in a completely different way. Lol at Usopp having the third highest bounty of the crew...move over Sanji, your place in the monster trio has been stolen. Story is progressing at lightning speed and it looks like the strife with Sanji is already fast approaching. No downtime in the New World! |

I've just finished rewatching Punk Hazard and Dressrosa, and I wanna say it seems Robin seriously has the hots for Law and it's not just fans' imagination running wild? We're shown her reactions specifically to his injuries, she openly worries about him, she chats him up every now and then, she tries to be next to him even when it's not strictly necessary (like on the roof at the end of the arc when she's the only one who chose to stand by him instead of by Luffy or Franky), in this episode she goes out of her way to find him and to talk to him alone (wanting to be there for him because she understands how mentally exhausted and not exactly full of will to live he is after having his old wounds from the traumatic past reopened in the ordeal with Doflamingo?) although he basically tells her to bug off... In the first place, why did she end up in the Ceasar handover team in the beginning of the arc, the same team as Law? Could it be that she was allowed to choose and that was her own choice? And then there's that fanservice in Stampede with the two of them... How else can all of that be explained if not with Robin being quite taken with Law? (while Law, even if he noticed which he most likely has, seems to be kind of indifferent, like he has more important stuff to worry about...) Well, all these subtle hints kinda came as a bit of a surprise to me as I assumed Robin was into older men, not younger, though seeing as it's Law we're talking about, can't blame her, how can you resist lol |

One Piece knows how to do post-arc episodes. The amount of information and changes in the world that start to occur end up having me pause the episode every two seconds. So much so that I think I’ll write only about what I found most interesting because otherwise I’d be here all day. Firstly, CP9 is back and they’ve been promoted!! The guys who lied to the world, who walked by Robin wearing their creepy masks, were personally close to her and I presume she didn’t even know that. From what we saw for sure, there was Usop- I mean Kaku, Lucci, and Spandam, with Spandam now being Lucci’s henchman. This does make sense because beating people connected to the government doesn’t send them straight to Impel Down like it does with Doflamingo. They know of the revolutionaries actions and they are keeping tabs on Luffy. What I love about this is that coincidentally, I have reached Water 7 in the manga and had just met them as shipwrights so it should help jog my memory. Doflamingo is being transferred by a high security navy formation letting us see even more of Sengoku, Fujitora, and Tsuru, a group of marines which make me genuinely love their party. Tsuru, having always babysat Doflamingo, sat with him as he spoke to her about what it means to take him down. Through his connections to those with power, taking him out of the picture is going to create a power struggle bigger than anything before it, especially because Whitebeard is no longer defending the throne. When expressing this, he gave us an outline of the major parties that will be present in such a conflict: the emperors, the navy, the warlords, the worst generation, and the revolutionary army… What is going to follow these events is: alliances, betrayals, the family of D’s will come out of hiding, the Celestial Dragons will be dragged down… It appears that the post time skip, now having built up all the powerhouses of the world, is about to start using them all more than ever. Further, with Fujitora’s conversation about disbanding the warlords back when he met with Doffy, it seems the gambler in him is fully aware of this all and wants to risk everything to reach an uncompromising outcome! However, what I found interesting here beyond that, was that in the silhouettes that Doffy imagined as the faces of each party, there were a few characters we do not know. At the Barto Club ship, unsurprisingly but hilariously a nerdy Straw Hat paradise, we saw that the fleet has hold of Luffy’s vivre card. Even tsundere Bellamy. This means that if one day, Luffy’s paper starts burning, we may have them break him out of Impel Down!! But more importantly, Bartolomeo showed the bounties the gang has amassed! With new pictures on each, all looking quite great, and Sanji’s no longer being drawn Duval style, there were a few notable details. “God Usopp” no longer has the disguise of Sogeking on his wanted poster and he is now, what, the third highest bounty on the Straw Hats crew? I would expect nothing less, just as the Tontatta kept the promise and made Usoland a huge statue with the face of his war cry, enough to make a little girl faint, alongside the other greats Lucy and Kyros. Meanwhile, Sanji’s wanted poster went up and now has a unique change. Those who want Sanji, only want him alive. This is different from the living or dead order for the others. This no doubt is linked to Sanji’s mysterious childhood in North Blue before he became a chef in East Blue if you ask me, and it denotes an intriguing focus on Sanji going forward. As he slowly grew over time for me, becoming one of my favorites, I am excited for what this foreshadowed. ruffymaru said: The Arc has ended and I still don't know why Rosinante hated children and used to threw them in trash. It was stated, in a call with Rosinante and Sengoku if I remember correctly, that Rosinante was treating the children so badly to scare them away from the Don Quixote family. He didn't have any issues with them, it was just ironically his way of trying to keep them safe. |

Bartolomeo has always felt like an affectionate parody of an assumed rabid One Piece fan, but seeing his crew, which is actually a fan club, sailing on a glorified mashup of Straw Hat imagery, is kind of concerning. What does Oda see in his fans? |

As menacing as it was, Doflamingo's answer to Tsuru about the power vacuum he ended up leaving and the unimaginable conflict that will follow had showmanship levels that'd give Gyats a good run for his money! I'm so damn excited about the future fights between dozens of familiar faces. It looks like there's also a new Warlord and Admiral who haven't made their debut yet. The Beast Pirates certainly has the guts for going for the attack even when they know who they're up against. I wonder how things would turn out. It was such a huge surprise to see Lucci and the others again as members of Cipher Pol 0! I wonder what the other former members of CP9 are up to as well. In addition to seeing Dressrosa rebuilding itself, seeing Bartolomeo's ship, the Straw Hats' autographs, and their updated bounty posters was a real treat. He's more or less the luckiest and most dedicated One Piece fan in the whole world, that's for sure! |

Ah so Dressrosa finally comes to an end. I didnt enjoy this arc as much as I thought I would, which is a shame, because the premise is great. I just feel like the pacing was poor and that honestly, the story could have been told a lot quicker. But I guess they have to keep the distance between the manga and anime at a consistent level. I loved the character development throughout this anime though. Luffy's fourth gear was excellently done, because the whole way through, I wondered how he would defeat Doffy. The fleet at the end was so cool to see, and it really felt like the anime shifted, and the overall story advanced greatly. Luffy really feels like a character worthy to be King of the Pirates, not that he didn't before, but his reputation is growing all over the world after Dressrosa. I also enjoyed the bounty updates in this episode - Chopper's really made me laugh. I wonder why they only want Sanji alive. Having not read the manga or seen any spoilers, I am curious. Anywho, it took me a while to finish this arc because the pacing at times was pretty awful, but the main story was enjoyable. Onto Zou. I can't wait to see the Straw Hats back together again :) |
