conclusion episode for the Skypia.

Mostly cheering and screaming, stuff you've heard before :)
...Of course chopper and Sanji miraculously come back to life without any answers, along with about 20 other people that should be dead already.

This isnt the best arc in my opinion but it concluded pretty damn good. Interesting they didn't show the reaction from the Pirates Summit or whatever the pirate town was called.

...Cue star wars Empire Strikes Back style of ending.

Skypia arc 8/10.

So no one died uh? Meh... I was expecting it. Anyway, of course it is not the best arc (after seeing the Arabasta one), but it's still pretty damn good. Anyway, the Shandians are too awesome and gangsta to be killed off like that :P

Nobody dies...I have to say that it's terribly annoying. I'm trying to get used to it, but it still bugs me. The biggest reason is because there's no explanations. Oda keeps his characters alive just to keep them alive. Don't get me wrong, I love the characters, but their deaths would be a great way to have a lasting impact on me.

Anyway, I'll keep trying to get used to it. This episode really flew by...I don't know why it felt so quick O.o

One Piece is too emotional to me. I cried again. Just so nice seeing that short flashback of Calgara and Norland being all buddy buddy, and seeing all the Sky Islanders with the Shandians, just having a good time. Loved seeing the masked Shadian dude (Braham was it) drinking with Zoro. XD

That was great. My only criticism is that the people who're supposed to be dead should just be left dead. But overall, great arc, it's better than the Arabasta arc.

This episode: 5/5

Why would anyone actually think people are going to die on this show? I admit it is kind of annoying, but it is expected non the less. I'm actually rather interested about Enel being alive, maybe we will actually learn his motivation at some point.

yeah they already shown him again in the manga. I like how all the main key actors of the show actually come back and play another important role rather then just be killed off, like bleach villains do.

It doesn't irritate me when Oda brings back characters that should be dead. But when we go through a whole epic season-length battle and deliver several unquestionably lethal blows to every character, sometimes multiple times, and yet not a single significant character dies, it's very irritating.

there's a difference between manga and anime. The falcon guy from arabasta for example is dead in the manga. The anime put a filler scene in where he was seen alive. I dont know how its with this arc, but there are probably some deaths here too in the manga. Nonetheless a pretty nice arc. I'll give it 7.5/10, probably my least favorite arc of one piece though

No the falcon guy which name is by the way Pell did survive in the Manga too. In the Anime they may have added the scene where he stands before his own grave but the scene where he leaves the doctor and forgets his turban was also in Manga
For further prove that he is alive you could read chapter 439 and 593.
Nobody died in skypia too. The reasons are many. The main reason is that the author like to end his arcs with a giantic party. Otheres are that he has plans for them later on or just wants to tell a cover story.
Something that I don’t like about the Anime is that they just don’t want to animate cover storys when there is no Strahat involved. Some of them are so incredibly important, especially the one with Enel. The one with Enel is so important that I bet even a lot of Manga reader don’T know how important the story is. One thing that gets explained is why Skypians and Shandians(even before they went to the sky) have wings.

The pacing wasn't the best, but this arc definitely had it's strong points.

a few things that I noticed though

why were the south birds not pointing south and going upwards?

Also, why wasn't the Mantra thing explained?

Agreed, agreed. I don't think there's been a single (non-flashback) death in One Piece so far. although the fat guy who fought Robin, didn't she snap his and a henchman's spine? So they could be dead, although probably not lol

It will shock me all the more when I actually see a proper death, if it even happens in One Piece!

So Eneru, this whole time he wanted to go to the moon? lol

Also the whole thing with the giants being shadows was a really neat touch I had completely forgot about that plot point!

This arc gets a 8/10 from me. Really enjoyed it even though it was a bit dragged out, it was always entertaining for me. Eneru was a great villain as well by the way! Maybe even my favorite so far.

This episode was good, but I agree with previous posts that it is seriously annoying that characters rarely seem to die in this series. No matter how many fatal blows seem to get handed out, the character somehow always seems to pull through. This is becoming the one real flaw I can pick out from what I've watched of the show so far. Now I'm not expecting any of the Straw Hats to be killed off, of course. I think it's safe to assume none of them will be at any sort of risk at all until probably the last Arc of the show. However, I think side characters who we are likely to never see again anyway could be killed off.

If you're going to have a huge war with everyone fighting - some people just have to die. You can't have every one survive, it just doesn't work. It takes away from the tension and in my opinion damages what otherwise was a really good arc.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Montblanc Noland arrived at the party at the end it was getting that ridiculous! Haha. Anyway I loved the Arc. Bring on the next one.

I knew Enel would stay alive. What this episode does badly is that it basically revived the dead. I mean, One Piece has characters with supernatural strength, but this is all implying that anybody in the show has the same resistance to electricity than, say, Zoro, Sanji or Wiper. It's basically saying that nobody could die from Enel's power. Which is annoying. I loved the casual "sorry for not being dead" by Conis' dad but come on. There's no point at forcing a happy ending, he actually received the "judgement of God" and survived unharmed. This is overdoing the things so much. What is so terrible about Enel then?

Other than that, this episode had a huge emotional resonance. The first half was fascinating. It's just when they come with reviving the dead that the episode loses its stream. And I love the happy and epic vibes from this ending, but...

I've read comments about how there is never any death in the present One Piece, its always in the past. That statement was really confirmed for me in this arc. I was just thinking how annoying it was that these people who were zapped with millions worth of volts of pure lightening were just getting up after a few hours of being unconscious and dusting themselves off. But then I decided I could accept that, it made for a nice happy ending, until we discovered Wiper was still okay after using the Reject Dial which is supposed to kill most people after just one or two uses if their lucky, and then Conis' Father just appearing out of nowhere.

And what about the reunion of the God's army with their families? I never even saw the guy who got zapped by Enel along with Conis' Father. He's the only one who dies and leaves a wife and kid behind, the poor kid who has never actually even met his Father? Unless I missed that little reunion or it appears in one of the next episodes I will not be happy.

Okay, rant aside it was still a nice episode, I really enjoyed the party at the end and everything working out for the best. Even Enel looking like he's touched in the head - which he should be after being thrown into that bell - and going off to the moon. Hah!

Now that this arc is over, I'm impressed with how much creativity and thought Oda put into this. Dials are a such an interesting concept and there's so much more. I don't think I could be a mangaka. What amazing ideas :)

Unlike y'all, I don't care about how none of the characters die LOL.
Oh, and I like how funny overly cautious Wiper is xD "have we been captured by the Sky people??? are these the drums of war?! the village is on fire?!" HAHA aww xD

Man, these last few episodes have been so intense. The climax for this arc was really something else!
Then we have this episode for the resolution and it really paints a nice picture of Skypiea, also, the moment when Luffy rang the bell was so good that it gave me chills. The way they built up to it, and gave it significance really makes it feel like such an important moment. I really like it when stories do stuff like that.

I think this is probably my favorite arc thus far, even surpassing Chopper's arc. The way they introduced Skypeia was great, giving us a look at their universe and the technology with the dials and whatnot... the middle was a bit too slow paced for my liking and focused on battling a bit too much, but then we get to the part where we learn about Noland & Calgara's history and everything from that point on was just so perfect in terms of storytelling and drama.

I really hope One Piece keeps up this style of storytelling, focusing more on the world, it's history, and the adventure aspect of the crew... that stuff is exciting to me, much more so than boring old shounen battles & techniques.
