Bad way to end the first half if there's even going to be a second season.
She never told them she was girl. Mattsun was inundated in his personal drama. I wanted to know more about Hotaru and her past and everything else about her but this series focused on that shit host's trauma and his stupidity.
The series started out so good but ended terribly. Ugh.
Nothing that I wanted to happen, happened. In truth Hotaru's character got completely washed out compared to her introduction. I mean the whole no girls allowed thing didn't even mean anything. Nothing happened that even put that point at risk of discovery. Started off interesting enough, plot took a terrible path, got really pathetic, got really boring, lame ending. No romance spark so no drive to push confessing gender. Oh well.
Many complain about hotaru not saying the fact that she is a girl. Well actually me too. But at some point in the manga, she does tell them and they think that she's just joking so I guess that's the reason the anime didn't do that(?)
Man, since the very first episode we're waiting for THAT moment and it DOESN'T happen! What pisses me off even more is that the manga apparently hasn't been translated beyond chapter 3? Someone translate that stuff right now
Cutest episode in this season! Looks like Masamune has started to develop some feelings for Hotaru. I'll be hilarious when he finds out the he's actually a 'she'!
Hahahaha poor Mattsun, now he totally thinks that he is gay. xDD It was one of the best episode but still this anime is the biggest disappointment for me in the season. :/
enjoyable anime, with your typical non-progressive shoujo shit (well, it is a shoujo or at least metaphorically). the animation is above average, the story is average and most likely never gonna have a sequel.
Am I disappointed that we didn't get to 'see' the reveal? Absolutely.
But I still think the ending was satisfying. The team solidified their friendship, and Hotaru finally has the confidence to reveal herself (err, rather, who she is) to her friends.
The point being, is that it doesn't matter whether she's a girl or not. They're friends, and they're going to keep competing together.
I think it's a perfect and symbolic ending. Well done.
6/10 from me.
That was a boring series in my opinion. I expected something better than this. Maybe the girls that like BL will be satisfied but... nope. Not if you want a great action anime series with a great storyline.
The action was nice albeit a little cheesy; the final part when he was asking all over again though was cringe worthy for me. Matsouka is too pathetic for me to take seriously and I still can’t believe how seriously they take this game. I guess this show doesn’t get tired of the fujoshi baiting either… meh.
IT WAS SO COOL AND CUTE! I really enjoyed it. Tho, I'm sad because they didn't know that Hotaru Chan was a girl, and YAAAY, matsouka San is finally in love XD
9/10 we need new season.
tachibana saying she will never let mattsun go while sweet felt like a yandere moment tbh. still i liked the episoded over all. Guess i'm going to read the manga after all.
Annoying. It was entertaining but man, bloody shounen. If they didnt talk and announce shit they could win that fight and everything could be done in episode 7. But no... they need to recite a bloody novel and lose.
the ending was so emotional.
Near the end I was hoping the room 201 guy would show up, and make this series end in a cliffhanger...but damn, guess not every anime is like Rokka no Yuusha.
7/10 overall, the animation (at certain parts) could be better
What?! It didn't finish the part at the end of the episode where she tells them she's a girl like in the manga. It was only like 10 seconds after that at the end-- we weren't able to Mattsun's reaction animated (also, his dream either). Those were funny parts. :(
Boooooo.....
This episode was good, it shows how Hotaru changed.
The little romance moment between Mattsun and Hotaru was interesting, I would have liked to see his reaction when he will learn that Hotaru is a girl.

Oh well-- good series.
DUDE! WHAT DO YOU MEAN LIKE IN THE MANGA?
which chapter?! raw or whatever!
Imo, the characters are enjoyable to watch but they were just put into the wrong story. It would have been better if it was your reverse harem trap romcom anime. You got haruhi 2.0, a sadist and a masochist, a hentai BDSM artist, a host and a perhaps a loli nurse.
Its a 7/10 for me. Like the other user said, there was soooooooooo much force drama that made me cringe soooooooo much (in a bad way) and which i did not feel any emotions to at all. Of course there was those good parts like where Hotaru makes a comeback and those manga scenes + the ships in this anime (yaoi fan here). Still hoping for a 2nd season, especially how she didn't told them that she's a fucking girl. Are we waiting for a shower scene?

Chapter 16, I think, is the middle to the end of the fight (with Mattsun blushing); then chapter 17 is the very end of the episode --Mattsuns dream and them meeting in front of their apartments-- is what I was talking about above.
in a search bar I put 青春X机关枪 and look for dm5 . com for Chinese "raws". Careful with popup ads, though.
I always look for the raws/Chinese scanlation even if I can't read them, lol :P
According to ^ it seems that she did confess she's a girl to them, but I suppose the staffs thought that it wouldn't be as good of an ending than solving the whole drama regarding Matsun.
This whole series is a huge disappointment for me, not only the consistency in the characters isn't there, but the drama was way too overdone. Every episode had me cringing at least for a good minutes, if not for the entire episode. I am inclined to agree with the top review on this site, though I don't mind as much about the rule of airsoft.
This would have been a tad bit more enjoyable if there were some romance, hetero or not. I've enjoyed some ships in the series myself. Such a shame. The cover picture looks good, but in reality she couldn't be more annoying.
I would say it's cool and all nice to have a story/series/show on paintball. Decent attempt but something just didn't click with me the entire time. The forced drama isn't helping too.
6/10.

That is why i dont like to read reviews. Most of them dont try to adapt to anime but they want to anime adapt to them. I mean, why does anime need to be same as real world. So what if the this airsoft has different playstyle. Plus, this is shounen anime.
I've watched the last episode last week and I just commented now.
Okay about the last episode..
OMG Matsun and Hotaru gave me so much feels, I really ship them sfm.
This felt like Ouran except with guns, adults, and skipping all of the bullshit of the chick feeling like she's obligated to do something instead of doing it for her own pleasure. I loved Tachibana (though I hated her 3rd person pronouns) especially when she embraced her devilish side.
This animu just did not give a shit and pulled out all the stops. Each episode was exciting and full of flare. I'm a little upset she didn't tell them at the end, I wanted to see their reactions damn it, but it was thoroughly entertaining and that's all that matters. S2 when?

-slams fists on the counter in time- SEASON TWO. SEASON TWO. :U
It seems most people aren't fond of this show or the ending at least because Tachibana didn't reveal her gender in the way that they would have wanted her to. To me I felt the point was that it didn't really matter what her gender was; getting to the point where they accepted her regardless of her gender seemed a lot more important than the actual reveal, in my opinion. If this was an important factor, this would have been revealed a long time ago-- it would have been the climax even. At that point, it's best to look at the story for what it's actually going for, not for what you hope for. As far as we know, the ending implies that she revealed her gender (and according to others, she does and it's disregarded). If you know what's going to happen or how they're going to react, then it really doesn't matter.
The point is that Mattsun got over the hurdle of letting people go-- which hints that gender shouldn't really be a problem for Tachibana at that point. That's it. That's all we need to know.
Other than that, people aren't too fond of the characters and writing. I'm seeing 'things were too sudden' or 'too melodramatic'-- yadda yadda. Personally, I liked the path this story took. Without delving into Mattsun's mind throughout this series, we wouldn't have been able to reach the point I brought up above; Mattsun wouldn't have gotten over the hurdle. If someone's arguing that the writers should have just gotten rid of Mattsun's hurdle altogether, then I don't really know what to say. There isn't anything there anymore.
If one expected this show to only be an action show then you're in the wrong place I guess, but you can't force a show to be what it isn't. 'I want this show to be a full blown comedy.' It's not a full blown comedy and it's not going to become a full blown comedy. 'No it should be and it's bad because it isn't'-- it just doesn't make sense to me. You don't read Frankenstein and say, "This is bad because it should be a comedy", you read it as it is!
Now in my opinion, I do believe some things were a bit unnecessary. It's fine for Mattsun to fear that he'll ruin the game for other people. I understand that and don't feel it's forced; but I think... the writers tried to show that he's always had that fear, yet it comes off to those who are watching as something he obtained after thinking about it later on. Honestly, I think maybe it would have worked a little better if someone else got Tachibana on the team, because as it is now it's:
-Doesn't want anyone on the team -> recruits someone -> gets rid of someone because he doesn't want anyone on the team
If he always had that fear, then he probably wouldn't have gotten Tachibana in the first place (debt be damned).
Now if it was Yukimura who had that fear and Mattsun recruited Tachibana while Yuki doesn't really have a say, that would have worked a lot better. Heck, even if it was Yukimura who got Tachibana on the team and Mattsun still had that fear, then that would make a lot of sense. But as it is now, Mattsun doesn't want anyone on the team but gets someone anyway; it's a conflict of interests within the same character, and it doesn't really make sense.
It's like if I go to Olive Garden, tell the waiter, "I love cheese! Cover my food in cheese!" then after the cheese is there, I tell them, "Never mind; I'm lactose intolerant; go microwave make me another meal cause I can't eat this-- actually never mind, I'm leaving". It doesn't make sense.
Also, I'm not too sure if I like Mattsun's sudden feelings for Tachibana. They didn't even ease in, they just... put it there so I can't help but think that won't end well for the story. If Tachibana touched Yukimura's hand and had that reaction, I'd understand-- I feel there was some okay build up for that. If it was Mattsun touching Yukimura's hand and Yukimura had that reaction, then I'd believe that too. (If it's Yukimura touching Mattsun's hand then it's just like every episode so hey). That reaction was just so forced to me though-- not much build up and too soon after such an arc just passed; but we'll see about that maybe if there's a
