I-I Club members spotted.

I expect a competition between them and WUG. Dem rivals.
Gotta keep practicing~ 1, 2, 3, 4. Meh, I hope the mood of this show gets better soon for WUG.

I think the president took them to the theater on purpose because she wanted to let WUG see just how much they need to improve. WUG's first concert was a disaster. They made so many mistakes, and 1-1 Club was flawless. If WUG really wants to be as good as 1-1 Club they need to be honest to themselves and practice as a idol group. Sure they are practicing but they have yet to understand what being an idol means.

Wow, 1-1 Club's practices are like military based. Cameras used to spot mistakes as well.

This anime is making me a little frustrated in my honest opinion, their lack of motivation and low morale is kinda getting to me.

I've been a fan of idol animes since The IdolM@ster and their progress is a little slow compared, i'm a little sad that there aren't as much idol animes.

But hopefully in an episode or 2, they'll start to improve and show their potential as idols and finally, show those I-1 people that they have some competition.

They were worse than in their christmas outdoor concert. I wonder whether they were actually meant to get worse (i.e. too much pressure) or was it just a plot device to comtranst them with I1.

That WUG concert was hard to watch. They were fine on their Christmas concert and now they're really bad. I'm glad that the episode cut out most of their concert and mixed it with the I-1 concert.

A pretty good episode. I like how Mayu's dedicated fan has transformed into a WUG fan. He's also portrayed as sincere in his fandom and not as an insulting caricature. Who were the other fans? Customers from the Maid Cafe?

I felt the premise of the episode and the poor choreography was illustrating that the girls are not quite a team yet. They are still a little bit selfish and don't help each other along. Not unexpected with novices, and I suppose Mayu keeps quiet to spare their feelings a little too much. Also I think she's avoiding being cast as the leader of WUG.

No, it was meant.

The first concert was relatively easy, they had no expectations, they were only singing one song, they only had to remember one dance sequence. The second concert was much more difficult, they wanted to succeed, they had far more dance steps and lyrics to remember, and since they had a little success at the first concert, they wanted more this time, and worse they now have the image of perfection (I-1) as their goal, so they dwell on their mistakes more.

When you are at the beginning, sometimes you end up taking one step back, this was their one step. Should also add, what they are trying to do is really really hard, look at how hard I-1 has to work, this is not easy to do.

Liked the development here, Airi is of course the weakest link, but that was known from the start, so it is nice they actually showed this. But she does have the desire, and once she gets over her inferiority/ inadequacy complex, I think she actually has the most room to grow since for her it isn't coming naturally.

Yoppi is going to prove to be interesting, she is currently playing the lead, and her jealousy/awe of Mayu is going to make her a target (in the movie she identified Mayu at first sight). I can easily see the producer of I-1 try to poach her in a future episode, forcing Yoppi to decide between jealousy (in that Mayu is worlds better in talent (not to knock Yoppi's talent, but Mayu is a no. 1, and Yoppi would at best be a top 5 in I-1, and the difference there is really quite amazing)) and awe. That I think will prove to be the final boss for the group, and Mayu's desire to save Yoppi will be why Mayu finally comes clean.

Lots of little things were good in this episode, Mayu realizing that Yoppi is jealous when both were helping Airi, Yoppi realizing that Mayu really is better at dancing (as Airi was to Yoppi, Yoppi is to Mayu), and Tenge was good as well, showing that there is more to her back story. Going to enjoy seeing what that choreographer is going to do to them next episode. Also liked the Idol's reaction to Mayu saying why she came back, similar to Yoppi she knows what Mayu is capable of, and a recommitted Mayu is going to be a very powerful rival.

I actually like how they took things slowly, you can really feel their struggle here. It can't be said enough that this show is a lot more realistic than Idol Master/Love Live.

The part when Twinkle said they need to fight more was definitely true. They need to realize that they are still just amateurs and hopefully after seeing I-1, they'll take the idol dream more seriously.

Interesting to see there are two new characters watching from the background. WUG needed an extra boost, someone who can bring out their full potential. The manager is as useless as ever, tbh he's only there to cater to WUG's needs. Tange is a great leader but she can't do it all alone.

In a way isn't it funny how Tange has becoming the heart of the show? She is the one who is driving everyone forward. I liked that we learned a little from her past, I look forward to see how she finally grabs on to the brass ring.

It was hard to watch their concert. I was like "oh no!" half the time, kind of feels like the bikini episode. It's a group development arc so hopefully things will get better in the succeeding episodes. I really want the girls to feel victorious for once, even just for a little bit.

Yoppi snapping incoming. And I bet that's how they'll get Mayu to talk.

Who's that guy Tange was talking to in the end? Also the guy in glasses watching WUG's performance?

It's called folding under the pressure. Like previous people have commented they had a lot more to do in this concert than just 1 song and dance. It's quite physically demanding as well. Plus there was the obvious disappointment of the poor turnout.

Indeed. It was hard watching WUG perform.

Yoppi getting jealous or feeling inferior to Mayu isn't good.

I do agree what the Twinkle girls are saying. They should be more honest to themselves.

Airi reminds me of Haruka in Idolmaster. Probably because she's the most plain looking in the group. Airi definitely needs to prove as she's the weakest of the group. I'm rooting for her to improve.

The girls still has lots of room to improve on. Maybe that mysterious guy who the prez talked to can help.

I wonder if the suit guy w/ the sunglasses at the WUG concert was a part of the I-1 team spying on them? To see if they were actual competition or not.

Also, why did they have microphones at the concert? Don't they usually wear headsets to prevent things like dropping a microphone? That concert was sad though. So little people showed up. :(

I do hope the pace of the anime picks up a bit. It's like a laid-back anime w/ bits of drama and that just seems wrong.

I'm also sympathetic to Airi. Airi and Kaya are the only two that had little or no experience in front of crowds. Mayu was already an idol, Yoppei and actress and model, Minami and Nanami are singers, and Miyu a performer in a maid cafe. Between the two complete novices, Kaya seems the more naturally graceful, leaving Airi with the farthest to come.

Finally, great animation this episode. Airi was portrayed a bit better this episode, still find her bland (difference is, she was "very" bland before) Nevertheless, she is holding them back. She can be a great character if she learns from her mistake and strives harder, but needs to be more emotional and not just be too 'normal'. So far, she is the normal-est normal main female character I've ever seen.

I really enjoyed this episode, WUG is back. Oh, and I want ALL the songs once this show is over, so damn catchy.

I love how WUG are taking their time to improve. They're clearly not a team yet, and Twinkle saying they need to fight more is definitely true. Yoppi, as a leader, really needs to start lecturing the girls and getting them into shape. Poor turnouts are disappointing but if WUG really want to become top-class idols they need to give it their all no matter what. Unrelated, but Yoshimegu from I-1 is so cute! I love how she's still friends with Mayu.

Yoppi can't do that yet because she is too intimidated by Mayu. Remember that Yoppi failed the one time she went for it, but Mayu succeeded, so she has that to be inferior about, a really nice scene about this was after they went to the I-1 concert and Mayu was shaking the second girl's hand, Yoppi looked on dejected because it reminded her how far above her Mayu is.

The real issue though has always been with Mayu. She knows what Yoppi is going through (helping Airi, and after their concert when she give Yoppi a towel), but Mayu has shut herself off so much that she can't reach out and help her. That is the problem that really needs to be resolved. While there has been some problem with the art in this show, they have done this part very well. You can tell we are not getting the real Mayu yet, she has been faking it the whole time. They demonstrate this with the number of times they show Mayu even though she doesn't say anything (though in most of the scenes she should), she just has that half-plastic smile look on her face.

That Mayu is doing this is the real reason why Shihocci was so mad at her; that was another good scene Mayu's half assed "ganbatte" and Shinocci grabbing her glasses. Combined with the ending and its clear that she idolizes Mayu and was the most hurt when she left, that Mayu finally showed a little energy at the end was why Shinocci shook her hand.

Great episode, I like the contrast they did in the end with shots of theirs and I-1 concert. Also they faced harsh reality when they failed their show.

I wonder if Yoshino makes Mayu tell her everything next time, it seems that she would like to help her but hasn't got the chance just yet. Or she thinks Mayu is actually worsening their performances because she doesn't get it all. Either way, I guess things gets messy between them two next time. Their performance is bad because they are trying act separate.

Anyway, that producer at WUG concert seems fishy. I wonder what prez is planning with him but from tone of his voice it won't be anything good. And the other man - something concerning Mayu, perhaps offer to big comeback to I-1?

Shiho is definitely the huge Mayu fangirl. Bet she buys a ticket at some point.

I feel the weak link at this point is Mayu and not Airi. A few mistakes at this stage is natural but Mayu just isn't on the same wavelength as the other girls. She's still 'playing' idol. She loves singing and she loves dancing, but she doesn't want to step on anyone's toes. If the group doesn't go anywhere she'd be fine performing in front of a group of ~20 odd people.

I feel like this could have been a good show but something about the directing/dialogue feels off.

I guess after Mayu heard the harsh reality that she's the very front of WuG, from that jackass interviewer, she's holding herself back from what she can truly do. She wanted to help but she thinks Yoppi and the other girls would feel bad. She's probably afraid that the girls would distance themselves from her.

I think it would be good if Mayu is the center and leader of the group, obviously because she's the most talented and experienced out of them. But I'm not sure if she's leader material.

Mayus needs to spill the beans about what really happen sooner or later.

My guess is that Shiho was the one promoted when Mayu was demoted, and both knows in their hearts that Mayu was better.

I am pretty sure Shiho didn't do anything to get promoted, she just benefited from whatever happened to Mayu and the Producer (this is why Mayu felt she owed her an explanation), but it has been gnawing at her: what professional wants to know that they really didn't deserve their ranking?

This would be why Shiho was stressing how hard she had to work and how if she slipped for a moment they would be demoted. She was trying to prove to Mayu, the only person's whose opinion really matters to her, that she deserved to be in the lead group; this was why Mayu's blase attitude in response bothered her so much. This was also why Mayu's small gesture of respect (by answering her question - I like Idols) meant so much to her.

I was a bit surprised how much they screwed up their dancing. They did a perfect job in the opening movie... kind of made this episode feel a bit awkward by taking a step backward like that.

A poor performance from WUG. But they got an audience. They put on a performance. They're just trying to compare themselves to I-1 too much. What they should be aiming for is to do as well as they can, and build up a small but dedicated group of fans, who can gradually spread out enthusiasm about them and bring more people into the fold. Not to outdo I-1. Taking that attitude is just playing into the hands of the press.

It seems a couple of people in the audience left partway through, which must have been despiriting.

This new guy. What is he offering? A choreographer perhaps? That's who they are most in need of right now. It's clear that they're not being given any assistance in that respect, if it takes the songwriter duo to come along and give instructions.

And what's up with Nanase?

In line with the previous episode, nothing watered down in nothing cloying narration and dialogues. Plot simple and straightforward it would take more substance by the technical sector and chart the series that would make it palatable even to those watching anime in a superficial way.
