Oh man the ending for this ep was splendid. Finally Joe is taking Danpei's instruction seriously - even if it seems like it's just for revenge at the moment.

I've just realised something rather odd, isn't the prison meant to house minors? Why is the majority of it made up of old geezers lol.

Great episode, the plot is getting more meaty and meaty which is fantastic. Loved the pacing of this show, good to see Joe is now willing to learn and read Danpei's guide on boxing :D Rikiishi does smack some senses into him.

Good episode, but why is Rikiishi at that prison? I thought it was for minors?

Rishiiki was a pro after all and Joe is starting to take boxing seriously. Seems like revenge is one of the best kinds of motivations there is.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

My favorite episode so far, Joe finally has a motivation to start training due to wanting to defeat Rikiishi, seeing Danpei so happy made me smile.

YES! Joe is gonna learn about boxing! I love how Joe needs reasons for this, and he does not do it without reason.

After a giant beat-up, seems like Joe came to his senses. Nice escape plan, but pride is more important than anything for you. I guess he's going to take training and boxing seriously now, literally, FINALLY.

After Joe being so stubborn and spitting on everyone's kindness for so long, it was really satisfying to see him accept some help, even if it's for selfish reasons. Still a long way to go before he's redeemed though.

I'm wondering when this is supposed to take place, as the living conditions don't suggest the time of production. Looks more like early 50s when the country was being rebuilt after the war. We can see skyscrapers in the background, yet all the characters are living in slums, the housing being just wooden shacks with no electricity or running water. There's quite an obvious gap between the rich and the poor

Can't forget about Rikiishi now Joe, can 'ya?

That's love. :P Jk! XD

Well. Rikiishi now being my favorite. :3

Joe finally writing back to Danpei and it was about boxing. Rikiishi appearing was really great for his character. Not me thinking Danpei would steal or something to go to Joe in person! XD

Of course I'm wrong, right? 6_6

Even though it's not quite for the right reasons, Joe is finally willing to learn to box.

It supposedly takes place between 1960 and 1970.
