What a relaxing season finale and a lucky one for the cast. I mean, getting a hot spring trip and enjoying their time together is a peak way of ending the show.

There's also talk about their careers but I think at the end of the day, these girls enjoyed their life to the fullest.

Nice and comfy finale. Pretty much the obligatory hot spring episode. :P

This was a very entertaining, cute, educational, and well-animated show. I loved the characters all those beautiful looking minerals.

Well, my Summer season is now over. I'm ready for the next one.

Fuji handled the finale as expected, and ofc it wouldn’t be a Fuji show without the obligatory onsen episode to close things out. Honestly, this was just Onimai season 2 in disguise lol.

Overall, it was a sweet show. The visuals were fantastic, and after a slow start it turned into a fun watch. Nothing too deep, but as a cute, educational anime about mineralogy, it delivered, with some of the best production values this season.

one of my favorite SoLs ever. it was genuinely perfect to me, i don't think there was one issue or flaw i have had with this show.

i loved the realistic talk at the start about the job market and struggling to make a career, it really grounds the characters and makes them feel all the more real. i also LOVE how these big research geeks brought 2 microscopes to a hot springs trip, and the yukatas make it look like lab coats. i love them so much.

the ending seuqence was also perfect. i'm so happy ruri was able to find a path to walk down. she seemed like the type to become a researcher: always hyper-focused on one thing until she can figure it out. it's her best personality trait. that little flash-forward at the end was just amazing. i also really enjoyed the voice-over that was giving insight during the memory montage. its just so good.

"are you having fun?" "yeah! its fun to want to learn more stuff!"

Sleeper hit of the season? Didn’t get much attention at the start of the season but it seems like among those who did watch it though, it usually got a good rep. Definitely in that camp too, I picked this up mid-way into the season because I saw a lot of Japanese users commenting on it especially and I can definitely see why. Reminds me of Koisuru Asteroid, I can’t say I cared too much about rocks but there is a very intriguing story behind them and the show managed to explore and convert that in very fine fashion. And for that, I must say this was fun and educational experience that I enjoyed!

Nagi-san and Imari-san turned out to be fantastic seniors and it’s lovely to see that Ruri-chan and Seto-chan acknowledged that this episode during the onsen scene.

Also, got to give credits to Studio Bind for the great adaption! They definitely slayed in between their main project which is of the Mushoku Tensei series I’m sure. And the theme songs were wonderful too. Solid 8/10 from here.

I wouldn't have guessed I'd like it, it was a bit of a surprise. Relaxing, comfortable, and with very nice visuals.

That final scene of a grown-up Ruri suggests there probably won't be a second season, too bad but that's okay.

If I had a dime for every time BIND ended a CGDCT anime on an onsen trip, I’d have 20 cents lol. Gorgeous finale as you’d expect from BIND and fitting for one of the best CGDCT in recent memory. What a weekly watching experience this was. Shooting stars were such a fitting topic for this finale because they encapsulate this show. Bright, beautiful and fleeting. Gone before you know it.

There’s truly no days off for this group of rock lovers. Even an onsen trip can be a learning opportunity. Nagi is going to make an amazing professor because she’s basically already been Ruri and Seto’s professor all season with Imari as her graduate assistant lol. Lecturing, giving them homework assignments and being someone they all want to be like. This also confirms she’s a PhD student if she was getting museum curator offers, for some reason, some dude on MAL tried debating me on this a couple episodes ago when she was away at a conference. That’s something mainly PhD students will be doing. But the fact even someone has talented as her has worries about her future shows you it’s something natural we all deal with.

Stargazing is actually such a great way to center yourself because it reminds you of how insignificant the earth, us and by extension, all our problems are in the grand scheme of things. Teaches you to focus on the here and now so it’s again fitting we got a meteorite hunting activity today when everyone’s worried about their future.

That ending was just so beautiful. BIND wanted to flex their muscles and they did. The best part of this season has been Ruri going from just thinking rocks are pretty to understanding WHY rocks are pretty and what they tell us about our planet and ourselves. Beautiful finale and beautiful character arc for her. I’ll miss my girls sm.

I think it's reasonable for this episode to be finale. A lot of people would be inspired by this anime to study rocks, and this episode reminds them that it's not an easy path.

Now for this anime, the only reason I watch this in the first place is that my favorite artist is making OP song for it, otherwise I wouldn't watch CGDCT genre. I'd enjoy it a lot more if it's CBDCT though.

this is a great one that could use many more seasons. Just an enjoyable watch, with characters really enjoying what they do. between the chemistry between them as well as the knowledge. you just want to watch them grow and accomplish what they're striving for. The animation was just beautiful, every scene was just picturesque. makes it feel like you're there experiencing it with them. great show.

Well, this is it, my last chance to say it: 10/10, has rocks, very cool.

Fantastic series, efficiently fit about 3 Vols of the manga into a strong, well animated, and well acted season. Hit all the right beats to create a series that's both slow and comfy, but still has places to go and things to teach. Definitely all I could've wanted and more.

For (possibly) the last time, Mr 10/10 rocks guy, signing off 🫡

p.s. HMU for the dub Studio Bind, I'd make a great "old man with crystal radio". plus my requested salary of 0USD is hard to beat ;)

This has been a pleasant surprise. I was 8 episodes behind and considering of dropping the show altogether, but I'm so glad I didn't.

I don't know how accurate the information contained in each episode is, but I feel like I've learned at least a tiny bit about my surroundings. Is this an anime original ending? If so then there's little to no chance we're ever getting a second season and that's sad.

Sad we didn't get to see naked Nagi in the hot spring, but oh well.

A solid 9/10.

And so we end with a lesson on hot springs magmatic mineral water, searching for meteorites and a glimpse into Ruri's future.

Pretty solid little series. Even putting aside Nagi's big, beautiful tits...which were an outstanding bonus, this was still probably the best educational adjacent series I've watched this year. Hell, in several years. Relaxing and enjoyable. I wouldn't mind seeing more. Solid 7/10.

What a way to end this season with a hot springs episode ! 💖✨
Researchers who did their best to learn more about the rocks and managed to bring that knowledge to everybody on Earth deserves a huge round of applause. Even when they don't have a high paying job they do this for their love for rocks.
They showed grown up Ruri in the end looking like Nagi..❤️❤️
Since the manga is still running, I hope we will get season 2. Thank you Studio Bind for adapting this masterpiece.

I really enjoyed the show. It was something I looked forward to each week. Not sure if I'll continue with the manga though.

The last episode already felt like a finale, but the real finale still managed to deliver the same feeling. What a fun journey this was, I learned so much stuff that my perception of the world has been kinda weird, the world of rocks is amazing. Every episode has such great visuals that I wish every CGDCT SoL I watch would be like this.

Ruri is still kind of uncertain about her future, but she's definitely going to make it as a researcher (we did get a sneak peek of her in the future), her love of rocks had long evolved from simply collecting the pretty ones to wanting to learn more about their origins and nature.

Don't be sad that the fun times are over, as there are more fun things to do!

Really glad that Ruri managed to find out her career path at the end. The passion was there with discovery or finding rocks but she didn’t know if she would be able to take that leap to commit to the science.

We can thank Nagi’s mentorship for that. Even in the beginning when Ruri was just narcissistically looking for pretty jewels — she helped channel that into something more substantial as time progressed. Solid anime 7/10

Ruri rocks? This show should had been called Ruri sucks. Can't recall any other character in recent times this bratty, selfish and entitled had the chance of being the main character without getting some reality check by any of their peers. Never saw this charm most of the stans pushed forward about Ruri and her slowly finding her path in such a mind numbing boring profession that even the characters admit there's so little demand in their area.

The edutaiment aspect of the series was a complete chore to watch/listen to. It felt that it was 100% aimed towards people that were already invested in the mineralogy field, and that's not a good thing. For instance, shows like Yama no Suzume, or Dairy of our breakwater days managed to mix up the whole edutaiment aspect in a more balanced way that it felt more appealing to outsiders that weren't familiar with hiking or fishing.

Going back to character writing, the whole cast feels like watered down versions of more compelling characters with their own worries and goals in comparison to once again more thorough and complex characters like in Yama no Suzume.

The only outstanding asset of the show was the amazing animation and great background designs along with the fanservice, but it's hard to feel entertained with only the visual aspect without the heart.

I'll die on this hill, just like videogames, good graphics don't make up for fun gameplay, immersive storyline and charming characters.

I really enjoyed this anime and looked forward to each new episode every week. When you think of CGDCT, this is exactly what it means: cute girls centered around a specific theme or topic and that's exactly what Ruri rocks did right. For example, Super Cub focused on bikes with a side of the girls’ lives, and Ruri Rocks does it just as well. Surprisingly, I actually learned a lot from this anime. I’d probably rewatch it now that all the episodes have aired. ^_^

Basically it was just a 101 training module on minerology presented by cute anime girls. I personally would have preferred if there was some actual plot to accompany the educational stuff.
Still.
You can't argue with the high level of production Bind poured into this. The wow factor really did wow. And not just the rocks, the female cast also.
So maybe I change my mind.
When you got rocks and girls like that, who needs plot?
8/10.

More of a chill onsen episode for the conclusion but that was great, very good anime overall, this is exactly how you mix a very original subject to CGDCT tropes and make it stand out in this genre, it was informative and educational but also cute and entertaining, especially for a subject I wasn't familiar with, it made me really invested and much more interested now. That would be awesome if it ever receives an S2 but not sure if it's possible.

I love this anime.

Will season 2 of this masterpiece be made? I’m looking forward to it.

I wish it were a 100-episode anime.

Perhaps in the future, as a symbolic gesture of gratitude to this anime, I will mention the names of Nagi-san and Ruri in a scientific article or an educational book on geology — though the book will be written in Persian.

No wonder Nagi was so eager and willing to teach Ruri, she wanted to be a teacher all along, it kept hurting how Ruri kept telling to herself she wasn't good or smart enough to follow the path along the rest of the girls but that final scene after the credits got me a bit emotional, this is most likely the best educational Anime I've seen so far.

Man, This was an amazing show. I really stumbled upon a hidden gem or rock (hehe) here. The fact that I want more aligns with what Ruri said about one fun thing ending and leading to another.

We can't have everlasting happiness because that would just mean we'd be stuck at one place. I think this is a great message and it implies that life is much larger than all of us.

WAS THAT ADULT RURI AT THE END?! No way, Give me another season of this please.

Gotta be honest, I found it incredibly difficult to pay attention to the explanations this time around for... obvious reasons.

Regardless of that, this anime was simply great, probably the best one objectively from this season. It not only featured a range of teachings related to mineralogy, it also presented them in a simple and understanding way. Lots of examples and a motiviation to look for rocks, the scientific process of asking yourself questions about your surroundings, it was simply all there. Of course this was accompanied but some beautiful background art very well justified for the theming of the show. Even though the characters were... anatomically too busted, their animation was on point as well.

There's probably not going to be a second season of this but I hope it will inspire newer generations to pursue this path. How sweet and lovely.

Beautiful finale, I really loved all the stuff regarding shooting stars and meteorites, I didn’t know shooting stars happened that often and that you can find meteorites just about anywhere, that is so cool. And the meteorite itself looked incredibly cool once Ruri finally found it, it’s funny that the rock from space looks alien almost, and to think we’re actually that close to space all the time gives me a warm feeling, space is so cool man. This episode had some other great stuff too, like the hot springs bit, the steam covered the fun bits unfortunately but we did at least get a nude chibi Nagi teaching us about magmatic water, I’ll take that lol, the info itself was really cool too, the fact that the hot spring is technically a rock and also magma, hot springs just became a lot more awesome in my mind.

And the developments with Ruri here at the end were very sweet, I heavily relate to Ruri on not being certain on a path in life, but I’m glad that it looks like she did eventually find it with that flash forward at the very end, it makes sense giving how much Ruri learned from Nagi and how she applied it to herself by wanting to learn the “why” regarding pretty rocks, it made for a great ending too if this happens to be it for the anime, I really hope not but still lol. And lastly, I loved how Ruri learned why it’s important for fun to end, it’s a bit how I look at anime seasons ending, it’s sad that one fun thing has to end, but that makes way for a new fun thing, it’s simple but a great outlook to have.

And that was it for the “rocks with a side of curvaceous babes” anime, Studio Bind really did it again, another absolutely beautiful CGDCT anime, I think this beats Onimai a bit for me, mainly because mineralogy hits with me a bit more. It really was such a fun and educational journey, some things went over my head but I really enjoyed learning about rocks from this great cast of girls, while at the same time getting some jaw dropping fanservice lol, thank you for blessing us Nagi. I also loved Ruri’s development over the course of the show, it really gave a sense of progression to the SoL, it really added a lot to my enjoyment too. And that OP and ED man, such an amazing combo, so fitting for the show too, I was sad we didn’t hear the ED in this finale which is my favorite of the two, but I still heard it plenty over the summer, definitely gonna be one I listen to months later and get teary eyed. And although it doesn’t seem likely, I really hope we can get a Season 2 one day, I don’t think showing adult Ruri at the end completely shuts down the possibility so I can still hope lol.

I had moderately high hopes going into this show, seeing as Bind was animating it. I wasn't completely on board right away, but after 3-4 episodes I started getting invested, and apart from one or two episodes here and there, it has been banger after banger every week.

Kind of sad to see them tie it all up in one season, as there seems to be more source material and the manga is ongoing. But then again, this is Bind. Mushoku Tensei is the reason this studio exists, and these little gems in between is what keeps them afloat as a studio I assume.

Either way I'm glad to have been able to watch this beautiful show, and learn a thing or ten about mineralogy as a bonus.

Hope you all enjoyed this!
