| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Heh, they jumped right into the action with the episode without wasting much time. OP song is by fripSide which is pretty recognizable by their style. I think on most parts, the episode's has that techno intense feel and combined with elements of cyberpunk. Some of the concepts introduced in this show is interesting so far in particular the techo gears. RyuZU's character design is what I had expected and surprisingly, I think they got that CGI part right. Mixed thoughts on the first episode so I hope it improves. I just hope they make Naoto more likable as he doesn't seem like an impressive character to me yet. The finger sucking scene....lol.. |

| The brat is annoying. The girls seems a bit more ok and the robot seems to be a pervert. Anyway the start wasn't really good but it got better towards the end that being said there wasn't really anything that stood out. All the gears around looked interesting but it seems dangerous, if your hand gets between them it will hurt. And the brat seemed to have a gear fetish. |

| The action was very mediocre and I already dislike the main character. Also, is there a reason why almost everyone from the main cast is a loli or a shota? I don't understand that (stupid) decision. What a horrendous ED, was that supposed to be a song? The only thing I heard were screamings. Overall, very disappointed by the first episode. |

| Not entirely sure what to say about this but the fact that the whole episode felt like 10 minutes long is probably a good sign I like how snappy and sharp-tongued the main girl was too. Not quite as convinced by Naoto though |

If it weren't for the setting, it'd almost be a harem series. xD The world is interesting, I wanna know more about Y and how he created a world out of gears. RyuZU is savage, enough said. XD The finger licking scene was top , I don't even know if it was necessary but who cares? xD The cliched thug scene was totally unneeded though. Marie sleeps nude? Hmmm. :) Naoto is okay so far, hopefully he grows on me. Overall, it was pretty much just an introductory episode, and it definitely wasn't too bad as most people claim. Looking forward to see what becomes of this. |

| Okay, you LN readers are overreacting BIG TIME lol, I was expecting something as drastically different as with Youjo Senki, but the visuals don't even look bad lol....It's nothing spectacularly different but at least it looks modern Either way, this was a pretty good start because they introduced the world, explained what happened and what the Clockwork Dolls are as well as giving us a brief introduction of our main players....I dunno what they skipped but as an anime only, the pacing was fine Naoto is a funny yet weird kid because of his clock fetish lol but he's not half bad....But RyuZu is love....RyuZu is life....She reminds me of Utaha from Saekano but even more snarky and I love it. Can't wait to see her in some more action scenes....The blonde girl has a cool personality too xD And dat finger scene was bliss xD |

| the gears are so intricate and naoto is such a steampunk geek i had to skip through the finger sucking scene though, such cringe. wouldn't be a suprise if this turned into vanilla hentai lmao but it is what it is i guess first ep wasnt impressive. i like the music i'll give another ep or two if i decide to drop it. |

| I was kind of looking forward this title but that atrocious BGM and character design made me drop the episode after few minutes. I know xebec had its ups and downs but they made some marvellous looking titles in the past. What the hell is that? How could anyone think it's ok to release something that looks and sounds so bad right off the bat... |

| Nof the best first episode, but not the worst either. It was an expected good premiere. The animation isn't too terrible (Xebec has put out shows looking worse than this), and the setting seems really cool and interesting. Plus, one of the co-writers for the LN is the author of No Gane No Life, so it makes me even more curious to see where this goes. I'm also probably the only one here who likes the OST. It seems fine to me, especially the piece that was playing when Marie was in the car. It seems well-rounded and adds something to the show that the characters lack thus far. 3/5 for me. Would have been a .5 higher if it wasn't for the finger sucking scene. It reminded me too much of a scene in Senstive Pornograph and it was unnerving. |
| Not going to lie, that finger blow job scene made me uncomfortable. The plot itself sounds kind of interesting (the whole clockwork planet thing) but.... that finger sucking scene that went on way too freaking long..... I don't know if I want to watch more of this or not. |

| It started boring and became progressively better. The beginning was just ehh but once they started repairing the robot it became progresively more enjoyable to watch. BUT the art(character design especially) is so distracting holy shit, it's the first time i got so distracted by the art, what is with those freaking round face? Are they hamsters? |
| That was a rather unusual way of being registered to become a master to a robot. I thought this was really good and I am very much looking forward to watching more. Next episodes looks like it will be action packed. |

| To be honest I enjoyed this opening episode more than I did with Akashic Records the other day. However, that being said, I do have some gripes. Like seriously, WTF was with that finger sucking scene? This is the kind of crap that keeps anime from becoming something that can stand up to big budget Hollywood films and other American shows because the studios keep treating their anime like kids shows(and I mean that in a very literal way) by constantly putting in this childish humor. Hell, even The Asterisk War with all its problems didn't go that far. It gets close, I give you that, but at least A-1 was smart enough to drop the harem crap during the second season because they realize it wasn't needed. It's... just... so... God... damn... FRUSTRATING! Why can't these studios take their anime adaptations seriously for once? Why do they always have to resort to childish methods in order to tell a story? Because it's more profitable? Kiss my royal ass. Anyway, sorry for the rant there. Clockwork Planet has a interesting concept that could be something be like Blade Runner and Artificial Intelligence if the anime improves as the series. I do have hopes but I'm not expecting much seeing that this is Xebec after all. Here's hoping. |

| Probably the worst first episode in the season so far. Terrible choreography, terrible facial animation, surprisingly well done back drops and soundtrack. Terrible character designs imo and they really tried to set up this cool world of gears but literally nothing hooked me. |
