Main character is a genius who kills people, who thinks they deserve to die. Secondary main character is another genius, who tries to expose them. Basically: "I know that he knows that I know, but I lack evidence."

Both anime involve a number of elaborated murder mystery cases within a class of school students with eccentric personalities.

-psychological thriller comedy in HS -faster pace than classroom of the elite -stone cold MC -MC with childhood trauma -powerful MCs

Well, this is like Boku no Hero Academia but more dark version

They give off the same exact vibe at the start of both series and have very similar starting plots. Also Momo looks exactly like Nana funnily enough.

Both show a group of characters who seem to have a normal lifestyle at first, but in reality, there exists a dark secret lurking in the shadows.

Both series are nerve-wracking and exciting stories that blow you away from the first episode. Oh yeah and they are both set in an abnormal school settings

While the 2 shows tell really different stories, they both treat the same theme of how to maintain a working society when some people (or everyone in Shinsekai Yoru) is a walking nuke and whether sacrifices are legitimate. However, while both shows have a somewhat similar setting and themes, they go about telling their story from a different point of view with a really different tone and pacing, making them complementary shows more than similar ones.

Tired of dumb protagonists with million layers of plot armor save the world every time in anime? In Munou no Nana and Yuukoku no Moriarty we see the such anime from the perspective of the "bad guys" as the murder such characters. In both anime the killers are very intelligent and in both anime there is a smart detective that tries to catch the killer, so expect a lot of mind battles in both anime. Moriarty kills aristocrats, while Nana murders boring shounen protaganonists; the anime world is better of without those kind of characters anyway so I kinda enjoy seeing them die every episode  read more

Theres a highschool class full of quirky individuals that are preparing themselves to fight humanity's biggest threat. Also very colorful and drama oriented. A lot of betrayals, alliances and individual talen'ts being highlighted.

both have horror/thriller aspects. Higurashi is definitely more violent but the suspense in munou na nana gives me higurashi vibes tbh

Charlotte is an anime that have something to do with superpowers or talents and only certain people have this so called powers and Munou No Nana is similar to Charlotte because of this talents or powers BUT Munou No Nana is a little different

To start off, both of these shows are extremely similar because they both involve high school kids with powers being isolated somewhere far away from society. For both series, some of the kids have extravagant and dangerous powers while others do not, thus creating a tense atmosphere of distrust and drama among all the characters. There's also a shroud of mystery in both, while Talentless Nana focuses more on investigating each other as potential killers, Sonny Boy focuses more on the characters investigating their strange surroundings and the possibility of a "student with a certain power" causing a certain scenario.

Similarities : - Both involve an impostor who try to kill a group of student - The student have special abilities (there is no super power in Kanata no Astra but they have power like big brain or super athletic body...) Dissimilarities : - Kanata no Astra takes takes place in space - The plot in Kanata no Astra isn't focused on the impostor, it's more about adventure and mysteries but you'll still have the same vibes

Both anime deal with an impostor infiltrating a group of exceptional, gifted people trying to save the world with the intention to kill them, with them trying to find out who's the impostor before it's too late. The main difference is that Rokka portrays the point of view of the group while the imposter remains hidden, while Munou na Nana has the imposter as the main character trying to murder the group.

Similarities: -Psychotic high school girls work swiftly and intelligently to cover their tracks as they aim for their objectives -Thriller -Dark Themes -Both anime get their plots started at about the same speed and they don't ever turn off the brakes -Really, the MC's are crazy and that's a good thing! Differences: -Nana's universe has super powers while HSL does not -Main reason for MC's actions are different. Nana is more of a military thing while HSL is more personal If you liked the MC from one of these anime, the other is a must watch. You will not be disappointed.

-Both of the animes are about the main characters going into an island, isolated from man-kind and that the place is supposed to be "special" but soon find out everything they knew is a lie. In Deadman, people believe that the island is a fun carnival that everyone has to go at least once in their life. In Nana, the island is a school full of only talented children who has powers. They are all elite and that is why they are there. Soon, both of the characters find out that the place they really are in is a place where they throw anyone with  read more

They have the same kind of feel. The main character is kind of mysterious in both series.

the plot reminds me a lot of the attack on titan plot. there are two opposing sides, both believing the other is the enemy. i found many similarities between the two while watching.

Both animes have ruthless female MC that is being manipulated by mysterious mentor. Male MCs experience identical development. Face animation is somehow also similar.

Both shows start with two people called Nana meeting each other, one talented, and the other... talentless (or more average, to be charitable). Beyond the initial similarities, following the story will make you guess, "What will happen in the next episode? Who is the next person of interest?"

( SLIGHT SPOILERS ) - A school full of kids with powers - In U.A. there is a traitor and in talentless nana, there will be a traitor as well. - The main character doesn't have a power ( I know Midoriya get's a quirk but he was quirkless at first. )
report Recommended by kiroban
The main characters are presented uniquely in both animes, having the MC as an intelligent mastermind accompanied by a brilliant detective. On the other hand, the only difference is the setting where "Talentless Nana" has a Japanese school setting while "Moriarty the Patriot" has an English historical type. These mystery series are by far one of the best mystery series I have ever watched; so, if you're looking just for something like that, then I recommend these to you!

Its deceptive plot is super similar, and both stories end with you wishing there was more. A lot was left unanswered while still being entertaining in both series.

The themes are exceedingly similar. Though for Munou na Nana, it appears later in the series. Morality is hard to come to terms with for the self-aware mind. Conditioning to dehumanize others is a deep pit to climb out of for reintegration into society. Why can the viewer forgive evil tasks? Is it because of personal loss of the villian? Government sanction for their crimes? Time passed? Character growth? Change of heart? Good deeds? If you are seeking catharsis from cheering on a (cute) villain, or seeing character growth no matter the cost, then Violet Evergarden, or Monou na Nana is for you.

Both shows involve war between normal people and espers, in both shows espers have to pay a price for their powers, and both shows include cool personality MC.

Both animes are about killing in a class, the difference is that in Akuma no Riddle, the whole class are assasins, but in Munou na Nana is the MC the only assasin.
report Recommended by Zakutou
Both animes have murders that are shocking. Both maintain high suspense.
report Recommended by Kyosuke_Kosaka
MC has a goal to kill other people. Everyone has some kind of superpower, except that in Munou na Nana the MC doesn't have any. Munou na Nana doesn't have nearly as much fighting as Deatte 5-byou de Battle, but they both have a lot of mind games.

-Both animes are about a group of characters who are destined to "save the world." They are given or born with powers that are all-mighty to be used to help save man-kind. However, soon as they go into the series, they find out that everything they are living for, their goals, their passion, it's all a lie. Both animes are intense with lots of plot-twist what you would not expect from their typical genre. -Dark theme, lots of betrayal
report Recommended by iNinjeek
Both shows allow you to experience the thrilling and nerve wracking point of view of an impostor infiltrating a group of powerful individuals and pretending to be friends with everyone while hiding their true identity and true motives. Both shows are very exciting and have the same vibe as playing a game of Among Us.
