omnipotent creator however the precursor/founder of the christianity church and their teaching was St Peter or Jesus depending on your prespective (you are not taught how to be like god nor is the former put on a ideal pedastal, rather you are taught to follow the church rules in order to to find spiritual salvation... god is more or less, using rudimental terms, a scapegoat where despite in some biblical excerpts it making a intervention most of the actions came from believers or non-belivers seeking guidance or forgiveness); with budism there is no god figure rather you are promoted a philosophy, moral code and way of life base on 4 main principals that were created by Buddha wich are spiritual in nature; Then there is Chinise folk religion wich i have a hard time calling it that sense is more so base on a traditional norm rather then a spiritual belif (basically there are local gods, some more prevalent than the others, that people pray to but only as a way to honoring their ancestors and/or if the person happened to be on a dire situation so they pray to them wich if it results in either the situation be resolved then they move on with their lifes but if that doesnt happen they say the god is cursed... so you see how calling it a religion it is a bit iffy so that is why it is subdivided into Taoism and Confucianism wich follow more of a set of norms and belifs. That said in its core there is a religious belif in that if you live life deprived from evil you can be reincarnated depending on Wang Ye judgement); there is also Hinduism and Islam but i am not quite akin with those so i am not gonna bother.
In summary to form a religion you would need a doctrine being shared that is deeply connected to spiritual belief and that follows certain norms, without it would should follow into one of the two other definitions i mentioned previously. However this is just my take on the subject because to this day there is no clear definition of the term.
Ah okay i see where that concern comes from, many people sometimes tend to describe fanaticism using the terms you referred but i would say that a bit of fanaticism is not bad per say. Let me ask you would you say that extreme devotion for a good cause like protecting the people you adore/helping others(altruism)/to a work piece or anything else that makes you feel like you had a fullfilling life, is that such a bad thing? From my perspective as long as is not sectarianism or deviates into something harmfull it is fine.

Some can call it masterpiece too.
For example if you and few other people follow someone political ideals that be a politician, activist, speaker, etc... and subcribe to his/her views you are part of not a religion but a moviment; and if you adore a character/idol/figure for whaever reason, that by itself without any form of doctrine being shared around also isnt enough to call it a religion but rather should be called simple fanatism.
Now i know you just made that thread with a playfull mindset in mind and is nothing against you personaly but i just dislike how the term is becoming more and more dissolved by being used as a way to feed the meme internet culture and being generalized and qualified as a form of cult. Anyway sorry to bother you.

I still need to watch a few Isekais before starting Isekai Quartlet. I became interested because Overlord was in there and I really liked the main character. Hope you can finish up that soon too!
As long as you enjoy what you are watching that's all that matters tbh.
