Synopsis

Death City is home to the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy, a technical academy headed by the Shinigami—Lord Death himself. Its mission: to raise "Death Scythes" for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their fantastical world. These Death Scythes, however, are not made from physical weapons; rather, they are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform their bodies into Demon Weapons, and only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch's soul.

Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe who only seems to care about what's cool, aims to become a Death Scythe with the help of his straight-laced wielder, or meister, Maka Albarn. The contrasting duo work and study alongside the hot headed Black☆Star and his caring weapon Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami's own son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive dual wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz.

Soul Eater follows these students of Shibusen as they take on missions to collect souls and protect the city from the world's threats while working together under the snickering sun to become sounder in mind, body, and soul.

When I first watched it, I couldn't stop. The comedy wasn't poor most of the time (main culprit of bad jokes from Blair) and the world and characters are super engaging and one of a kind. Only in Soul Eater can you have a character who suffers from Symmetry OCD and every joke regarding it to be as humorous as the last. The voice acting performances are all amazing and bleed personality through their delivery, giving the show even more life than before. Soul Eater is a marvel for its time and still holds up well today in its animation and style. The music fits ...

Mixed Feelings
Dub is great, and has one of the best opening songs in anime IMO. Action is pretty good. The concept itself is Interesting, and the show opens strong and closes pretty good.

But holy moly is the middle of this show a snore fest.... Episodes 20ish to 40ish were so hard to keep watching, there wasn't anything major going on, and if it was, it was hard to get invested. The writing at times seems all over the place, and inconsistent throughout the show. Also, the opening is way too horny, the rest of the show isn't anywhere close to the levels of down bad ...

Soul Eater: A Promising Start, a Disappointing Finish
Soul Eater initially captivated audiences with its unique blend of dark fantasy and comedic elements. The concept of students at Death City training to become Death Scythes was intriguing, and the characters seemed poised for a thrilling adventure. However, as the series progressed, it unfortunately veered off course, leaving many viewers feeling disappointed.

One of the most glaring issues was the underutilization of powerful side characters. Characters like Death the Kid, a skilled swordsman, and Maka Albarn, a formidable wielder of a soul, often found themselves relegated to the sidelines, their potential unrealized. The fact that a young student, ...

18 of the Funniest Anime Faces Ever

Some characters are funny because of all the crazy antics they get up to. But others just have the right kind of physiognomy, which make them prone to pulling off some funny anime faces - intentionally or unintentionally.
