The year is 1863 as the tumultuous samurai era is coming to an end, Japan is split between the pro-shogunate and anti-shogunate factions. The fate of the world is threatened as an army of historical revisionists are sent from the future to alter the course of history. In order to bring these forces down and protect the real history, two sword warriors, spirits who are swords brought to life by Saniwa (sage), rush to Edo. The polite and thoughtful Horikawa Kunihiro and the short tempered yet skillful Izuminokami Kanesada, who served the same master, confront the invading army along with a lively gang of other warriors including Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, Yagen Toushirou, Tombokiri, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga.
As the fate of history lies in these hero's hands, what meets the blade is yet to be uncovered...
Well I am not done delving into the franchise yet but i'm looking forward to it. I got picked on by someone earlier, calling me egocentric just for saying i understood the story to an extent, trying my best to understand the story based on the information they were able to provide in the first episode. That kind of hurt me but someone was nice enough to pick my side because we were somewhat similar.
That being said, don't worry if you don't get the story in the first episode. From what I have seen, that is quite common. It's quite fast paced and you need
to pay attention very well. If you are interested enough to stick with it and do your best to understand the story, then i'm sure you'll like it.
The animation is good, it looks very realistic. It's stunning. The animation is different from other anime i have watched, which makes sense. I almost called it CGI but it was blended SO WELL, like it makes you not wanna say it's CGI. It was very obvious when it switched with previous anime i've seen, kind of why i was turned off from it, but at the same time appreciated it. Weird right? Well, i'm glad to see they did it wonderfully here.
The sound was stunning as well, realistic and the bg music keeps you on your toes, it was very suspenseful, if that is the right way to say it. It almost felt like the game, with those action scenes. Hint Hint, I know, bad joke.
I haven't seen enough characters to talk about this. Like I said earlier i'm not done with my extensive research... But the few I have seen were quite enjoyable. You are first greeted with two characters. You have 'The younger brother sidekick type' who worries a bit and feels a bit like a burden. And the older, wiser but not TOO SERIOUS type. I like that combo. Is that my (Fujoshi self talking? I am not sure since I don't like that young+old thing, I just enjoy those as bromances.)
As of yet it is very enjoyable. An interesting topic as well, at least for me
Overall I give it a 7.5
Being easy on it since I don't know enough about it: 8.
Maybe, I'm just biased
Please forgive me for I am not an expert on this franchise. ♥
I didn't really plan on watching much at all this season nothing really peaked my interest but someone told me about this and I thought I'd give it a go since I have nothing better to do after all bahaha. wish I was kidding
The show is pretty much what I expected was a little confused during the first episode but heaps of swords and some weird shadow harry potter type of things getting cut up so can't really complain if there were any less sword's in this show I think I'd hate it but because obviously I froth over sword fights in the 1800's
in anime 10/10 lmao enjoy.
Time travel is impossible and this so effing boring. Boom! Mind not blown.
Time cops are the worst. They mess up thus you don't exist. Please refrain from altering history. Your efforts will negate your own existence. Duh.
Even with katanas, time cops are lame. Oh my god how many more words will make this review submittable? Yeah, that's an actual word. I write and so I submit work to employers and prospectively. This show looks nice, but is boring and it's premise is futile. Got Dam! More words? Ugh! This show is hardly even worth breathing a sigh over and you want more words
from me? Yeah, a lot of people will like this but the best it could rate is 7.1 if a bunch of clinical morons enjoy it and stumble upon the internet, this website, and this page.
