The journey of Satoshi and his friends through the Kalos region continues! After Satoshi obtains his seventh gym badge, the group is moving toward the next town when Eureka discovers a mysterious Pokemon resting in her pochette. Soon given the name Puni-chan, it is one that even Satoshi and Serena's new Pokemon Zukan cannot identify. However, it quickly becomes apparent that Puni-chan is the target of a mysterious group clad in bright red suits known as Team Flare, aiming to capture the new Pokemon to further their agenda. But when Satoshi and the gang realize that the enigmatic organization has no intention of treating Puni-chan with any decency, they take a stand in opposition to Team Flare's plans, daring to fight back.
With Gojika's predictions looming above them, Satoshi aims for his final gym badge while Serena contests for her last Princess Key in order to be able to compete at the TriPokalon Master Class. But as Team Flare begins to move in search of the mysterious Z, the stories of Pokemon XY and Pokemon XY: Mega Evolution cross paths as Satoshi and his friends, along with Team Rocket, get caught up in a scheme that could put Kalos in great danger.
This review will contain some spoilers for Pokemon XY
To be honest, I've never thought I'll write a review about it, or about anything actually; but this anime deserves it.
I remember watching pokemon when I was just a child and it was pretty much all of my childhood, except for dbz and some more, but sadly it stopped airing in my country after DP I think.
Around 2013 I watched Pokemon from episode 1 until the start of XY, but just stopped watching it because BW dissapointed me so much.
Anyways, around 3 months ago I started watching it again, I didnt expect much at all, the animation was crazy and some gym battles were good as well, but it was slightly better than I thought.
Let's get to the review.
I started watching XY&Z while not hoping for anything special, I liked XY but not that much.
The first episode was very interesting, one of the best pokemon episodes I've watched, it continued with some fillers and such, until pretty much episode 19.
Only then I realized that even in XY Ash became a great trainer, matured, and started noticing more things around him like his companions.
Since episode 19 the anime became pretty much a blast, I wait eagerly for every episode and watch it the second it comes out.
Character developments, sad moments, insane battles, sick anime opening which is also my favorite song as for now.
Honestly I'd give it to XY too, rewatching the anime, back to Hoenn and Sinnoh, and then going to watch the new episode of XY&Z I've been waiting for, seeing how much the art has improved, the attacks look sick, very cool backgrounds instead of those boring background that they used to put there.
Also the characters looks very good there, and Ash seems older.
I actually don't know whether to give it 9 or 8.
I've never paid any attention to OST or anything like that, only in visual novels but thats all.
As I said already the opening is amazing, and they use it in some of the battles, which makes them even better, in episode 27 there was a sad ost which was very good too and I just loved it, totally one of the best in pokemon yet.
It wouldn't have been my rating if it wasn't XYZ, but now I feel like I really like all of the characters.
Ash was an annoying kid until XY and now he had matured so much and I really like him as a characted, also became a good trainer with a mega strong team.
Citron is a cool character, I like how his inventions blow up and it's always pretty funny to have him there, and is also a good trainer too.
Eurika is pretty nice too, she's very cute and pretty smart, also the only one that knows about Serena's crush in their gang.
Just another cool character to have there.
Serena: I dont even know where to start.
I think Serena is absolutely the best character in pokemon yet.
Not only that she has good looks, she's pretty smart, cute, and so on.
Serena has a crush on Ash which is confirmed in XY, and she actually cares for him and worries about him.
Serena is the first female companion to get almost the same attention as Ash does, while having her own dream that is different than his other companions'.
She's definitely the most interesting character to have there, and way too many people hope that the writers will ship them.
Right now I'm really enjoying this anime and it's one of my favorite.
The anime got way better and you can see that by seeing how fast it climbs up in the ranking here.
It's a really great watch and you should definitely try it out.read more
Is this even Pokemon?
Let's be serious for a moment here. I am watching Pokemon since the very first Season. Haven't missed any Movie/Specials/OVAs and had unimaginable fun while watching those seasons. XY was fairly good but not that great. Now watching XY&Z made me puke. It doesn't even has that 1 bit of old school Ash who was used to loosing and was funny at times. XY&Z is like totally a new concept and that's not bad but the main part is that there are probably lacks of fans who have turned old (27 or 30) and want some serious stuff instead of some lousy anime series which only has 2 things focused.
That's it. There's no other plot or literally anything that entertains me. 28 Episodes have passed away (on the time of writing this review) and all I could see is Squishy,Squishy,Squishy,Filler,Filler,Filler,Ash-Greninja,Ash-Greninja,Ash-Greninja blah blah blah.
I hope Pokemon knows why they lost their older audience and figure out how to get them back in the next region (Alola).

Before seeing this series (Pokémon XY, prior to this), I was in doubt because in my opinion Black and White was a series I did not like at all and I found it very disappointing in almost every aspect. I gave an opportunity to XY and I was amazed and even more now with XY & Z that is having an incredible plot. I hope to continue delighting well.
After the end of the story of Xy, this is based on the last road of Serena to enter the Master Class and Ash to enter the Pokémon League. But a new team appears, as usual in each region, called Team Flare that they are iin search of a pokémon called Z (Zygarde) which it's all a novelty because there is no information about him. This pokémon has the ability to take several appearances, each stronger than the other, from its "core" which acquires cells of the environment to transform in these forms. This core is found by Ash and others and starts traveling with them at the request of Bonnie which calls it "Puni-chan", which strings in the Team Flare begins to be around them too.
The animation of XY and XY & Z is excelent compared to the previous series (B & W). The effects are recreated as pokémon attacks seem to me a breakthrough in the series.
The OST I think is sensational and each music is set at the right time and it's correct to mention too the fantastic opening by Rika Matsumoto.
It's almost normal to talk about the characters in Pokémon (is almost always more of the same), but in this is series Ash is much more mature and he makes no nonsense once used to be, and his team have a lot of possibilities to win the League for the first time. Serena is very capable at what he does and I love how it relates to their pokémon. I hope they can give the romance between them because I think they are a great combination (I recommend see Chapter 12).
The Team Rocket still appear but they help Ash and the others in the battle against Team Flare. But they still want to catch Pikachu.
In my opinion, you enjoy much this series as I am doing now and I hope this continues for a while. For now I think it's the best series of Pokémon next to the Original Series.
I highly recommend this series if you are fans of Pokémon.read more
-------------Minor Spoiler, make sure to check out XY before XY&Z--------------
Pokemon anime has always been great to watch for me, growing up and eagerly waiting for Pokemon to start, so we could follow Ash/Satoshi on his journey on becoming a Pokemon master. After the Best Wishes series, I was thoroughly disappointed of what happened to the anime, Ash reverted back to day 1, and the anime wasn't enjoyable. I thought that would be the end of the anime, only aiming towards kids and forgetting the old fans, but I was wrong. XY and XY&Z is exactly what I was hoping for when they announced the new anime.
Prior to XY, in which Ash set off in his journey in Kalos, lots of things happened in XY. XY&Z is the sequal to XY and it's even better. Ash is currently aiming towards the league while his companion Serena is trying to reach the Master Class in Performances. However, the bad guys, "Team Flare", are after Z, which is a mysterious Pokemon which seems to be able to transform. All in all the story is interesting and follows the game, but for once I feel like the anime has decided to be creative and introduce many other things, Zygarde cells and Ash-Greninja. Ash is finally starting to become a great trainer.
Art-wise Pokemon XY is better than ever, I really like the moves and how they look, and for once Ash doesn't look like a kid. He looks grown up and cares about everyone. For once Ash protects not only his Pokemon but also his friends. The effects of the anime are certainly a upgrade over Best Wishes.
Whether you watch in DUB or SUB, the sound of the Pokemon genuinely sound real and there is lots of detail. Not much more to say, but XY&Z theme song is one of the best Pokemon openings that exist. Check it out!
For once, in the anime you can finally like all the main-characters. I will try go briefly through them, and some minor spoilers.
Ash/Satoshi: Ash is definitely interesting in XY&Z, he's achieving "synchronisation" with Greninja(not known as of now), and is definitely giving off the vibe which a MC should give off. His team is definitely powerful and I will be waiting how he does in the anime. In previous anime's Ash was different to how he is now, somehow I feel he matured. (pls no 10)
Ash really seems to care about his friends and is definitely looking strong.
Serena: Serena's definitely an interesting character, in XY she went through lots of character development, and she showed lots of signs of liking Ash/Satoshi. In XY&Z she will be trying to perform in the Master Class, and it will interesting to see how she turns out as a character since she is the first girl to receive lots of attention from the writers.
Citron/Clemont: Clemont i feel is the Brock of XY, he's smart, makes great food, is a nerd but instead back off's from girls. He's certainly interesting and he's a great character to have in the anime.
Eureka/Bonnie: Bonnie is quite fun to have in the anime, she's amusing and is also quite interesting. Interestingly, she's the only one from the gang that knows about Serena's crush, and in the end she is just fun to have in the gang.
Alan: This guy, is the reason XYZ will be amazing. In his own 4 Specials Alan has showed how awesome he can be. Interestingly, working with Team Flare, it will be interesting to see the rivalry between Ash and Alan.
I am currently really enjoying XY&Z, it's fun to watch and is definitely better than BW and the originals even. XY&Z is a treat for Pokemon fans.
I'm giving it a 9 since XY&Z is a big change compared to XY. It's getting more serious and each episode is getting better and better. For XY, I didn't mind waiting for new episodes, sometimes I didn't watch like 10 episodes, so I could catch up later, but for XY&Z it's completely different. I wait eagerly for every episode and if this anime ends on a high-note, it will definitely become the best Pokemon season.
Give XY&Z a watch, just make sure to watch XY before though. read more

Prepare for trouble! There's a deep history of Team Rocket that some Pokemon fans aren't familiar with, whether it's members that weren't introduced in Western media, or what rank the members happen to be. Let's blast off into the history of Team Rocket!
