Both have Red-haired, tsundere characters who are the lead protagonists, accompanied by a brown-haired powerless male protagonist. Both of them are voiced by the same Voice Actors. Zero no Tsukaima goes more fantastical, as it is a totally different world set in the medieval ages. ZnT features more of a school environment and a larger cast of side characters. It's also more detailed in expanding its magical universe so you really get a feel of the premise. In sunmmary, Zero no Tsukaima has more of everything Shakugan no Shana has: Romance, School-life, Ecchi, Magic Rules and Universe, Better Soundtrack, More Side Characters. These two anime are completely different in plot but in characters you can definitely see a similarity... The main characters Ryuji and Taiga have a very interesting relationship.. one of a master and her dog (like Louise and Saito)... In both anime the characters share a close relationship in which the chibi fearsome female dominates the male...very interesting to watch.. (both females have the same voice actor as well..)

These two share such a similarity! A magic school where a loathed and unpopular female student (who is also a fierce, proud tsundere) stumbles upon a guy, who she makes a magical contract with. It's a story loaded with both ecchi and actual romance, as the two go forth seeking power.
report Recommended by DenpaOnna
The guy in both Anime is accused of being a pervert when he really isn't one or isn't intentionally trying to perv. As for the main female character, she easily becomes jealous, she has a temper and has issues of some kind.

I am not recomending "Dog Days" to those who like "Zero no Tsukaima", but recomending "Zero no Tsukaima" to those who like "Dog Days". Yes, there have been a lot of comparisons to the two, because they happen to have male main characters summoned to another world, but beyond that, they are two very different series. "Zero no Tsukaima" is better plot wise and uses humor much better, not to mention has really good characters.

Nagi and Louise have the same voice actor, and its very like each other. Boy meets girl, and girl bosses boy around.

In ZnT, he is transported to another world filled with magic and monsters. -Both male MCs have strong beliefs and want to protect others. -The main female lead both have tsundere personalities. In ZnT, she is constantly hitting, scolding, and at odds with the MC. In Oda Nobuna, she has the same traits but the tsundere is turned down a notch. -Both have a harem feel to it. Bit of a role reversal, but a "problem student" with no talent ends up summoning a human familiar or "parr" who is unique among everyone else. You can tell a relationship will be formed between the two and many other girls will fall for the main character as well.

Kirito and Asuna are similar to Louise and Saito and they go on adventures together and fall in love.

Both series involve a human male lead being summoned by gateway to an alternate fantasy world by a loli voiced by Kugimiya Rie. Both have strong fantasy, magic, ecchi and romance elements.

Both have a Tsundere character that likes the main. And the main is surrounded by Harem. The main comes from "this" world right into a "magical" world.

Male lead gets transported to another world/dimension, wants to find a way back home, ends up being some rich noble girl's servant, ends up attending that rich noble's girl's school, has super abilities, female characters try to seduce him once in a while, and both have a elf girl in it. both are harem anime.

Both are ecchi animes that have similar characters and are set at a mystical school. ZnT is set at a magic school, RV at a monster one. Plus, in both animes, the main girl has pink hair, and the main boys in both are similar. They both have Rie Kugimiya too!
report Recommended by TsuruyaSonozaki
Main characters are males, powerful and sometimes a bit of a doormat (gullible, easily manipulated by women etc). Both possess some sort of power and both are the next successors of a role (demon king, Gandalfr). Tons of fan service and whatnot as well as embarrassing moments mostly relating to the girls in the story. Side characters have big boobs.
report Recommended by MrNostalgic
Both are about a mage summoning a familiar who happens to be a humanoid character. In Familiar of Zero, the mage girl is a bad student who summons the MC, a boy, from Japan to their world, making this an Isekai. In Vermeil in gold, the MC, an innocent boy with very potent mana summons a hot demon girl. Both shows are ecchi and the relationships between the summoner and the familiar can lead up to a lot of awkward moments and gain the attention of other girls and students of the respective magical academies.

Both are very similar. Have the same synchro and the same character - qualities. In these animes aim is to fight the evil ... whether with magic or a sword. But the love is not too short and in both animes. The anime also has what funny, the comedy is there, too.

They both contain a male protagonist who is in love with the girl and helps her out with her journey. Both contain hilarious comedy and are incredibly funny. Both of the female protagonists are unsure about the the guy at first. I can't quite fit the similarities in this paragraph with out it being a page long. If you liked one, I guarantee you'll love the other.

Both series revolves around the main protagonist gaining the power of magic and his life like never been before. He meets a strange girl who seems to have affections for him. Both series contain fantasy, comedy, drama, action, and of course romance. Both series' protagonists also have similar personalities.

The same character dynamics appear in both series, but they are both set in complete different settings and in the end Zero no Tsukaima is far superior to Ookami-san...

They both involve a school system using a sort of summoned beast in combat. They both have several similarities in genre: action and romantic comedy.

The main persons are very funny. In both anime are romantic, action, magicans and a lot more stuff. Ayano and Louise have the same reaction the one with fire the other one with explosions.

The lead males are very similar. They are shameless perverts, very honest, and can be very manly when the situation calls for it. The lead females are also similar with respect to their insecurities. They also have a similar nobility background. There is also the fact that the leads in both anime are bound by contracts.

When i saw this one, it reminded me of OHSHC in a way, but its hilarious, and both Haruhi and Saito are both kinda clueless of the people around them (like how Tamaki obviously likes Haruhi (but Tamaki doesnt know it) and how Louise likes Saito (but doesnt know it and tries to deny it)). Did i mention they're both hilarious?? And perverted, in a way.

This kinda reminds me a little of zero no tsukaima. Because of the draw style and somethings that are the same: a magical school, a girls who doesn't like the boy that mutch (at the start). So it's worth watching if you like one of these to watch the other one

I'm incredibly surprised that no one has compared Zero no Tsukaima to Slayers yet. Lina and Louise are both "flat-chested" magicians having to compete with their F-cup rivals (Naga/Zerbst). Both series feature a sword weilding male character that the main character ends up falling for and the humor is similar. All in all, I thought Zero no Tsukaima was fun to watch and if you liked it I know you'll love Slayers.

Both of these series somehow give off the same feeling, but Pandora Hearts is dark while Zero No Tsukaima has more light-hearted moments. The female leads of both series, Louise and Alice are tsundere girls and possess unique powers, while the male, Saito (Zero No Tsukaima) and Oz are some kind of a servant to the female leads.

As I was watching Zero no Tsukaima, I couldn't stop thinking about how related it was with Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. The first thing I noticed was the relation between Yuki and Tabitha. Those two could be twin sisters. No kidding. But then I started noticing some other similarities. In both series, there is a bossy girl that drags a guy into her crazy world. And that treats him like a slave. I still think that if Louise and Haruhi ever met, they would probably be very good friends. Kyon and Saito are both completely normal (big-boobs-lovers), japanese guys. In both of the series, there are weird adventures  read more

The male leads are expected to serve the female leads but are often unsatisfactory though they are proven to have hidden capabilities later on. The female leads are tsundere characters, while the male leads both develop attachments and become loyal to the females. Both the shows are of the fantasy genre. And the plots basically have the same "band-together-to-defeat-the-forces-of-evil" type of theme, but aren't really very similar. They both also have fanservice.

Similar: *Medieval setting *Action/Adventure/Comedy *Color theme Both animes have Swords and Sorcery and the heroes are bound with a girl/woman. I think you will like them both, but Rune Soldier have less romance/ecchiness or not at all, and have older characters.

If you like ecchi-based comedy, then you would definitely like the other one. They both contain lots of ecchi stuff and a bit of harem.

Both shows kind of having the same plot in the beginning. The summoning of human from another world. However, in Zero no Tsukaima, there's more ecchi scenes and the battles might get tense and serious. Unlike Dog days', where the battle are more entertaining, enjoyable, and joyful.

The main thing in common between those two anime is the fact that the main character goes to a fantasy world where he gains an incredible power. Re:Zero is more psychological and Zero no Tsukaima is more of a harem, romance but both of them have good action. You may find it annoying that those main characters don't try to go back to their main world, but in the end both series are a lot of fun.

On the surface, there might not seem like any similarities, yet the main male protagonist of Kuro no Shoukanshi is similar to the female protagonist of Zero no Tsukaima in that they don't let anything get in their way. Both series also have their own ways of putting the overpowered character on it's head, with one preferring to go unnoticed and remain free while the other - the overpowered one isn't the person who fell into the world, but instead his companion.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Both have a stubborn main character with pink hair. I sont think by means of plot they are really alike, but I think that if you enjoy one you would like the other. Zero no Tsukaima is more straightforward and romantic about the character's feeling's.

Both have the genre of magic, a very compelling atmosphere, and the use of Familiars.

Both series deal with a teenager boy who get caught up in a different world, filled with adventures, new people and action/ecchi-packed scene's. Although one goes from the woods to the city, and the other one goes from the Human World to a Magic World, there are alot of similarities, namely the misunderstandings in relationships, the hardships they have to go through to find their (true) "love".

The beginnings are very similar. The only real difference is that Zero no Tsukaima has a bit more going for it when it comes to romance, while Macademi WAsshoi! had some of the best comedy I've ever seen in an anime.

The main characters are complete opposites, but are bound by a contract and end up working together for a certain goal. Also, both are romance, but a frustrating "love triangle" happens between the main male character, the main female character and a close friend of the male character. (Harem) Both main male protagonists are blue haired and wield swords. Also a similar feel and atmosphere of both of the animes, and great (but frustrating romance) and stories.

Both center around a romantic pairing made obvious at the beginning and beset by challenges in the form of other interested women, and both go to greater-than-average lengths, for the one-guy-multiple-girls approach, to flesh out their casts. Both feature a tsundere female lead who seems to enjoy nothing more than abusing the male lead. Love Hina has less magic, but its various side plots are often no less fantastical than if it did have magic.

These two anime, while having a very different plot (one being about a boy thrown into a world of magic, the other being about an election), share some key concepts that would draw viewers of one to the other. First off, both anime are centered around one boy for whom a large majority of the girls show an affection for. Even though Majo No Takkyuubin is more of a slice of life and Zero No Tsukaima is more action and adventure oriented, both are fantasy anime with lots of magic and witches mixup, technically Zero No Tsukaima is an isekai about a guy ending up in the foreign land, while the other one is about a witch trying to fit in a conventional place, the roles are inversed, but they have mostly the same vibes. Here's the story: "One boy suddenly is dragged into a whole different world and after overcoming great hardships saves that same world" And it's like this not only in Zero no Tsukaima but also in Amatsuki. The lead male character is constantly hesitating whether he does the right thing or not. The thing that's the most interesting is whether Toki will stay like Saito or will leave if he has the opportunity at the end of the series?

"Chrome Shelled Regios" and "Zero no Tsukaima" have several similar elements. Both have a male lead with several female co-leads. Both are set in a fantastical world combined with a school setting. Both have jokes about violence being dealt to the baka male lead by a romantically frustrated female (although Felli is a far more complex Tsundere than the typical modern version- very interesting character development). Both anime suffer from serious flaws mixed with strengths, and are poor adaptations of light novels that have a superior story. The major difference is that while "Zero no Tsukaima" degrades by sliding  read more

Fantasy, magic, adventure, and harem, both these series contain those shared common themes. Although the protagonists are different in terms of personalities, they both share the want to protect what they hold dear.

Inu x Boku SS is similar to Zero no Tsukaima because both anime have a lead girl character who is accompanied by a male character which they refer to as their "servant".

Both are servant-master relationships in a fantastic setting. ZnT has romance, and Princess Resurrection has a dark setting.

While the setting is completely different the dynamic between the two main characters is quite the same (girl hostile, treating the boy as a slave, boy acting kind, caring and protective for the people around them, even though being annoyed by getting treated like that). Also the development of their relationship and the relationships around them shows a lot of similarities (recognizing the true feelings towards each other, making friends together, watching out for each other and so on). The people they make friends with are different and not comparable, though. It feels quite the same when watching these two animes.

Both have magic, male main characters that have a lot of women that fall in love with them, a good bit of comedy mixed in, and make you feel a bit ease while watching it. Neither take them selves to seriously and are just fun to watch. Both have action, comedy, and romance.

Both series feature a luckless boy who was minding his own business when he's suddenly transported to another world with no apparent way back. Another similarity is that the main female protagonist doesn't like the main male character in the beginning and tries to hurt him a lot.
