These two anime are completely different in plot but in characters you can definitely see a similarity... The main characters Ryuji and Taiga have a very interesting relationship.. one of a master and her dog (like Louise and Saito)...
In both anime the characters share a close relationship in which the chibi fearsome female dominates the male...very interesting to watch..
(both females have the same voice actor as well..)
This kinda reminds me a little of zero no tsukaima. Because of the draw style and somethings that are the same: a magical school, a girls who doesn't like the boy that mutch (at the start). So it's worth watching if you like one of these to watch the other one
Nagi and Louise have the same voice actor, and its very like each other. Boy meets girl, and girl bosses boy around.

Though they are set in entirely different worlds.. they both carry the same sort of vibe. They both deal with the whole rich verses commoner issue, also both have similar characters types. You might not see it at first, but while I was watching Zero I kept thinking "Wow! This is strange, but this reminds me of Ouran."
As I was watching Rosario + Vampire I had vibes to Zero no Tsukaima. It has ecchi moments and is based on a storyline about a human entering a world of magic and monsters. When you watch Zero, you will soon feel the similarities between the two.

Both are from JC Staff and is about students going to a magic school.
Both center around a romantic pairing made obvious at the beginning and beset by challenges in the form of other interested women, and both go to greater-than-average lengths, for the one-guy-multiple-girls approach, to flesh out their casts. Both feature a tsundere female lead who seems to enjoy nothing more than abusing the male lead. Love Hina has less magic, but its various side plots are often no less fantastical than if it did have magic.
The main persons are very funny. In both anime are romantic, action, magicans and a lot more stuff. Ayano and Louise have the same reaction the one with fire the other one with explosions.
In both series the main character goes in another world or dimension. In this other world there is magic, other creatures, etc...
In the beginning they just couldn't stay in there and wanted to return to their world, but when time passed they just get used to it and they continue staying there. They fight with many other creatures and enemies to save the place they are at the moment.
Both are comedies about people who can use magic and also have partners.
In both anime, the main protagonist is a mage and summons a familiar/servant.
Both have the genre of magic, a very compelling atmosphere, and the use of Familiars.
Both have female leads with supernatural powers and have the male leads wrapped around their little fingers.
Same voice actor and Louise and Shana got alot in common.
Shakugan no Shana is more action based.

This is the secound season, it has more romance and more fun :D
The male leads are expected to serve the female leads but are often unsatisfactory though they are proven to have hidden capabilities later on. The female leads are tsundere characters, while the male leads both develop attachments and become loyal to the females. Both the shows are of the fantasy genre. And the plots basically have the same "band-together-to-defeat-the-forces-of-evil" type of theme, but aren't really very similar. They both also have fanservice.
similar stupid humour~ guy with lots of girls..."forced" into this situation by outside laws.
Both have a stubborn main character with pink hair. I sont think by means of plot they are really alike, but I think that if you enjoy one you would like the other. Zero no Tsukaima is more straightforward and romantic about the character's feeling's.
its funny and there is also a master and "familiar"
Magic every episode.
It is similiar because it's also about a boy who gets warped to another world engaged in war.
If you loved Kugimiya Rie voice acting, this is gonna be a treat.
Both series deal with a teenager boy who get caught up in a different world, filled with adventures, new people and action/ecchi-packed scene's. Although one goes from the woods to the city, and the other one goes from the Human World to a Magic World, there are alot of similarities, namely the misunderstandings in relationships, the hardships they have to go through to find their (true) "love".
Male lead gets transported to another world/dimension, wants to find a way back home, ends up being some rich noble girl's servant, ends up attending that rich noble's girl's school, has super abilities, female characters try to seduce him once in a while, and both have a elf girl in it. both are harem anime.
Both series have many girls falling in love with the main character.
They're both about a boy that has to be a servant xD But Zero no Tsukaima is more ecchi. I like Rozen Maiden better, but for the people who like that kind of stuff...
ecchi/comedy/romance both
I'm incredibly surprised that no one has compared Zero no Tsukaima to Slayers yet.

Lina and Louise are both "flat-chested" magicians having to compete with their F-cup rivals (Naga/Zerbst). Both series feature a sword weilding male character that the main character ends up falling for and the humor is similar.

All in all, I thought Zero no Tsukaima was fun to watch and if you liked it I know you'll love Slayers.
Both are about school for mage. Both of the main girls (Mikan and Louise) have rare magic ability and are somewhat dense when it comes to love.
Character is taken from his/her own world to another full of magical and supernatural phenomenon and they grow and train in order to realize their destiny in this new world
"Chrome Shelled Regios" and "Zero no Tsukaima" have several similar elements. Both have a male lead with several female co-leads. Both are set in a fantastical world combined with a school setting. Both have jokes about violence being dealt to the baka male lead by a romantically frustrated female (although Felli is a far more complex Tsundere than the typical modern version- very interesting character development). Both anime suffer from serious flaws mixed with strengths, and are poor adaptations of light novels that have a superior story. The major difference is that while "Zero no Tsukaima" degrades by sliding off into fanservice and ecchi jokes, "Chrome Shelled Regios" degrades by sliding off into a confusing mismash of symbolism and action that hints at meaning but fails to deliver. Depending on your opinion about the relative detraction of those flaws, you might find the other worth checking out.
They're both magical girl animes, and both have quite a bit of romance in them. In the beginning of both animes, the characters start out hating each other but eventually fall in love. (Which is probably why they seem similar to me? :P)
Both anime take place in school related to magic (pure wand style magic in ZnT and songs to command/strenghten spirits in Polyphonica). Both have pairs contracted by magic (a mage and human familiar in ZnT and human with very human-like spirit in Polyphonica).
Diffrences include: Znt is set in medieval-style magic world, while Plyphonica in alternate world with modern technology and spirits living alongside humans. ZnT is also much more harem/ecchi style. Moreover ZnT lacks definite ending, even if we include the other 2 seasons.

Both are ecchi, contain magic, and in a mystical setting. The characters are similar too. Also, in both the animes the main girl has pink hair and the main boy has blue hair.
boy gets sucked into another world full of magical things, both anime is a good comedy

Both Zero no Tsukaima and Ultra Maniac deal with a girl who can do magic and involves a Magical Kingdom.
It gives me the same feeling when I watch it...But Pandora Hearts focus more on the adventure of achieving their goals while Zero No Tsukaima focus more on Comedy.

Both main girl characters, Louise (Zero No Tsukaima) and Alice (Pandora Hearts) are Tsundere girls and possesses unique and strong powers (Louise's magic is really bad in the beggining, but her powers later on got really powerful), while the main boys characters, Saito (Zero No Tsukaima) and Oz (Pandora Hearts) are some kind of servant to the main girls.

Louise and Alice both also treat the boys like a poor servant, stepping on them, hitting them. Both girls also developed feelings for the main boys through out the series. Both are also funny.

Though, I highly recommend Pandora Hearts...Cause that's much more better than Zero No Tsukaima! XD
Basically the same basis to the storyline - human paired up with magical girl get into fights all with comedy rubbed in.
zero no tsukaima has ecchi, other than that theyre very similar - the characters, the comedy, the romance. both are worth watching.
Simoun has more lesbians and more flying things than Zero no Tsukaima, and Zero has more magic and less technology, but both take place in surprisingly complex fantasy worlds, both end up being deeper than they seem in the beginning, and both involve relationships that develop over the course of a series of trials and hardships.
Similar story plot.... In nagasarete airantou, Ikuto was drifted to unknown Island and can't go back to his hometown,,, there he met Suzu and live together with her... In zero no tsukaima, Saito was drifted to other world and can't go back to his world... there he met Louise and also live together with her,,
both involve magic + magic school + comedy + and a bit of romance.
akazukin cha cha is a brilliant comedy at times. Also ACC is lots of fun like zero no tsukaima.
A magic school with magical students of course.
Both include magic and wizards.
ZnT and Macademi WAsshoi start off on the same event. A main character tries to summon another being, summon goes wrong, and they perform a contract with the summoned person. There are also good doses of ecchi and harem in both anime.

Similar:
*Medieval setting
*Action/Adventure/Comedy
*Color theme

Both animes have Swords and Sorcery and the heroes are bound with a girl/woman. I think you will like them both, but Rune Soldier have less romance/ecchiness or not at all, and have older characters.

[pet/slave]Saito=Jin and [pet/dragon]Toa=Louise,.... well you get the point
Ginban Kaleidoscope feels like an alternative version of Zero no Tsukaima!

Both shows share many common aspects.

The main characters are really similiar both in personalty and how they're relationship develops. Louise (Zero no Tsukaima) and Tazusa (Ginban Kaleidoscope) are really alike in the way that they lose their temper quite easiely and strive to achive something in their life. The same goes for Saito (Zero no Tsukaima) and Pete (Ginban Kaleidoscope) which also share somethings in common. The first meeting between the characters are also really similiar. They both come from a diffrent place and can therefore teach the other person new things.

The only diffence between the two shows is that Zero have sequals but if It didn't it would probably have ended similiar to how Ginban ends but that is only my personal guess.
