Damn. Your ratings for Hxh and Fma are pretty funny. You give the actual shows bad ratings whereas you give their movies, which are considered bad decent ratings. Seems you wanted to watch these shows for fun fights and shit which the movies have as they are not at all similar to the show, judging from from your favs which includes DB and other similar stuff. Though I'll give you props for seeing the movies even if the shows weren't for you (but seriously a 3? I mean ok). Also I'm surprised to see YYH as a favorite, but I guess everybody has a perspective.
based on the chapter that you dropped it at, it's basically the middle of the cavalry round of the sports festival
midoriya barely makes it out of that one since todoroki (ice man) manages to trap him pretty well
author seemingly sets up a midoriya vs bakugo final fight but then manages to insert a pretty compelling backstory about todoroki and his current mental state as a result of being a eugenics experiment, having him beat midoriya in the semifinals but losing to bakugo in the finals since he's still conflicted, bakugo ends up with the gold medal but has to be chained down since he can't accept not earning his victory
then it's the internship/stain arc where you start seeing the students taking brief internships as a result of what the pro heroes at the sports festival saw, and along the way you get to be shown and not told different interpretations on how all the pros think about being a hero. this is intertwined with a vigilante extremist named stain who thinks that the only "worthy" hero is all might, and consequently hunts down "fake heroes", which is pretty much anyone who's not like all might. you also get to see the origin of one for all and how all might suffered his wound
after that it's a breather arc about exams that focus more on characterizing the students in the class, the author did a much better job than kishimoto did on naruto when it comes to making side characters relevant
you did have a point about the author not really knowing what to do next since he originally didn't plan on making bnha very long, but sometime into creating it he does start showing signs of planning, and currently we're a long way away from any conceivable ending even though there is an advancing plot
Enjoyed your review, I've not put my distain for most shonen in words, and wanted to show you my support for typing all that for MHA. ;3 Keep on being critical for the medium we love!
