I was inactive for some time (life got really busy) but Im still a full FAN of Anime. Formally known as MegamiElisa.

My Anime Origins:

My love for anime was born thanks to my ultimate favorite anime of all time GUNDAM WING! since it was my first anime and I fell in love with it. Also, Dragon Ball Z is my 2nd anime to watch religiously, as Wolf's Rain. These are the animes that helped bring me to this world I love.

About Me:

Hi there. I am actually a shy person but I love to talk to people although sometimes I'm not the one to take the initiative >.< just so shy.
I play lots of video games too and online games like Wow or Second Life.

So take this as an invitation if you have a lot in common with me or are interested in sharing anything please feel free to talk to me or even friend me. It is always great to meet new people and make new anime friends*Smiles*.

I am proud of my (still growing) anime list. It may not be as impressive as others or have tons of entries but it is all mine. I normally only watch what I am interested in so that's why usually my anime listed have a good rating, I try not to waste time on anime that are just not my cup of tea. Although I am always looking for anime that I may have missed sadly that is great so I always love it when someone recommends an anime.

So thank you for taking the time to view my profile I hope that maybe you found something good and interesting and also thank you to those who have friended me and to the clubs. Hope to talk to you soon .... now let us go and watch Anime!

どういたしまして, すみれふじん!

That is, you're welcome Lady Violet.

I also forgot to give a shout out to Wild Arms XF, the only tactical RPG of its respective franchise and it's been ages since I last played it. I did read the manga it was based on fairly recently.

The first Front Mission, Zoids Assault, FF Tactics and the original Valkyria Chronicles are my favorite tactical RPGs. I hope that indie developers are working on making a bunch of strategy RPGs next year.

Said friend from Oklahoma also loves the original FF7 and KH as well.

FF7R has been disappointing to me, even as far as remakes go. It also looks like a 2012 game and failing to meet customer satisfaction is a AAA thing to do.

Welcome back milady!

I've been saving money for Black Friday and I'm also thinking about playing Grandia II. I loved the first game and thought it was very underrated. I would nominate the OG Grandia as best PS1 JRPG of 1999.

I'll delve into alternative Devilman manga stuff later.

I also feel this desire to play newer Star Ocean games later. I only played Second Story (what my friend from Oklahoma should delve into) and Till The End of Time (I loved the voice acting, Motoi Sakuraba's music and those customizations).

I hope that Penny Blood (will undoubtedly be dark like Shadow Hearts used to be; a lady gamer that I know from Ontario loves Shadow Hearts) or Armed Fantasia (I love the first three Wild Arms games, Alter Code f and Twilight Venom) will get released around my 36th birthday.

With that said milady, what do you think of Second Story R?

A semitomboy two years older than me told me that Star Ocean 2 was one of her most cherished things since childhood. Around early adolescence and I think that it's awesome too.

Said to be the first JRPG where you can play as a girl.

That same semitomboy probably got that remake from her Chinese husband by now.

If someone were to give me that game as a present, then I would say thanks via a hug or slap that person in the back playfully if he's a guy. Kind of what like Cyborg did before he discovered that some warrior underneath that run of the mill armor was a woman. :P

Anyway milady! Welcome back.

I finished reading Hokuto no Ken back in 2014, but completely forgot to add it there a decade ago. Maintenance, repairs, tight budgets, etc all over the place back then. Last decade sucked anyway.

As you can see, I started reading Gantz and the story pretty much blew my mind.

I'll try to read Ghost in the Shell and as many indie comics by Year of the Snake. Hopefully, it'll be an even more fortunate year for us.

Not a big fan of modern games, but I would sure love to play Armored Core 6. If only Gundam games could play like third-person shooters instead of being arcadey or experimental. Even Omega Boost is a better representation of a mecha game than the likes of DW Gundam.
Kurt_Irving Jul 14, 7:53 PM
I meant to say that Gravity, a Gung Ho company, improved the job system of Ragnarok this decade.

Other than that, I'm certain that Back To School Day will be very eventful this year.

Yes, I'll definitely have some quality time with video games this gen. I'mccertain that I'll get entertained mostly by Korean mmorpgs, retro and AA stuff.

I've seen too many poorly received AAA games this gen, overpriced as well. I've seen too many big name developers chastising consumers so far as well.

Should I criticize consumers that expect the best DIY overalls from me? Absolutely not.

Aside from video games, I'm looking forward to reading many graphic novels with great artistic potential. In other words, I put obscure manga or alternative comics to the likes of Marvel, to the likes of DC as well. Mainstream graphic novels are mostly about making money over art and may also be predictable like My Hero Academia. Avengers is another example of money over art and predictable writing. That is, style over substance.
Kurt_Irving Jul 14, 12:44 PM
With that said, what do you think of Back To School Day?

As you can see, that's where my upcoming 35th birthday will take place and I can't to get discounted sketchbooks. Other unconventional office or art supplies as well.

I'm also thinking about reading indie comics some time. The only alternative comics that I know are Ragnarok, Witchblade and The Crow. Not sure if League of Extraordinary Gentlemen counts as indie or alternative. Yes, one of those comics is Korean and is the source material for Ragnarok Online.

I'll do so as soon as I finish Ah! My Goddess, finish backing up Big O volumes to a cloud service and finish playing Valkyrie Profile.

Speaking of JRPGs, I loved Second Story R.

I still love Ragnarok Online, but I have to come back to it later and Gravity did a great job improving its system this decade.

I haven't the new Fallout series yet, but a very energetic semitomboy named Holly told me a very long time ago how much this franchise meant to her before she became Amish. At least she had fun playing the first four Fallout games, some spin-offs and even NFS: Hot Pursuit. She used to be part Nintendo gamer as well.

Why her personality was so similar to Rem Saverem (one of my most favorite manga characters) is something I'll never know, but at we had fun talking about video games; I feel old now.

I don't know much about nursing, but learning acupuncture and human physiology has been very interesting. Maybe some autopsy can be really handy, I just need to find a book. A former classmate named Katie (about the same age as Holly) used to tell me that she wanted to be a surgeon. Hopefully, that freckled girl fulfilled her dream of becoming a female Black Jack.

Speaking of autopsy, I have yet to know how Akira Toriyama got subdural hematoma. How often do Japanese people get head injuries anyway? All I know is that neurology is weird sometimes. Said to affect babies and old people, yikes!

I don't know much about Mashle, but glad to see that are greatly enjoying it.

Anyway milady! How are you doing this Year of the Dragon?

I've made some more progress with Japanese and a RAW copy of Silent Möbius. Ganosha as of late was a worthy menace, he was no easy boss for the exorcist police unit AMP. Better display of girlpower than Avengers Endgame and unexpected allies joined in on the fight. Going up against the endgame, demonic boss while bearing scars. Yes, police work is very hard and some payback was necessary.

Ganosha reminds me of a giant, demonic superboss in Ragnarok Online in Hell's Tower or Evil Fanatic which tried to resurrect a terrifying monster called Satan Morroc that almost brought Armageddon to the continent of Rune Midgard. In a steampunk fantasy world, a war balloon armada with cannons would put up a good fight against giant, nightmarish creatures. Especially if the cannons are fired by biolos (successor to alchemist) working together to fight evil. Can't wait to go back to completing the ninja class which is an absolute PVP menace. Killer menace like Ryu Hayabusa or Onimaru.

Other than that, I finished replaying Wild Arms 2 in Japanese and the story was very deep. Just thought that the original script could help improve my Japanese and it did. Gotta keep up with the 2013 Silent Möbius sequel QD which is completely RAW as well.

おかえりなさい、貴婦人!

Yes, I've been studying Japanese for months (it's getting there; I found out that Middle of Eternity is about bittersweet feelings of nostalgia; gamashura is one word that I'll never know, but the rest, no problem! All thanks to Nihongodera and Word Reference). I used to think that Middle of Eternity was another song until I did some homework.

I've also been playing a decent amount of Grandia HD and I intend to replay Wild Arms 2 in its original language because Sony didn't translate it properly. Grandia's hardest bosses so far were those Garlyle girls (Mio, Nana and Saki), Ruin Guard and Baal.

As for food, I had plenty of grilled turkey last season and it was great. I used briquettes because lump charcoal was burning too hot and too fast (shooting too many flames). Briquettes will only burn hot and fast if you use a hair dryer. Other than that, briquettes just glow and radiate nicely under food.

I hope that you are having a wonderful winter so far. Pokémon is for kids, I know, but copying and pasting traditional Chinese characters from Pokémon Database to Nihongodera was a fun way to do Japanese homework. Nihongodera automatically omits Chinese characters that don't exist in Nihongo.

I also had no idea that ancient China made up some chimera resembling a tapir that eats people's dreams. Nihongodera also provides Buddhist terms that got adopted in the Japanese language. So not just eastern mythological terms.

The reason I write both in hiragana and kanji is because too much hiragana gave me writer's cramp (both left and right; I got the Visios for my left and generic ballpoint pens for my right). That's why Japan hasn't gotten rid of Chinese characters like Korea, north and south. I'm guessing Korean is easier on the hands than sheer hiragana, writing-wise, who knows.

As for AoT, someone could adapt prequels like it's Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. Too bad adaptations are often overdue or incomplete.

I was in junior high when I played FF8, but when I played the Greatest Hits of FFX a little later, its battle system blew my mind.

I did said no junctions challenge in FF8 when I was 17. Less grindy and tedious.
Back then, I had Rinoa enchant her party with temporary invincibility.

I believe that FF4 started that whole trend of love stories and blatant shipping. I have to admit, Cecil Harvey and his girl Rosa are a pretty endearing couple. Rosa is pretty much the hottest FF chick IMO, but yes, I also like Yuna, Celes, Tifa (beautiful red eyes and dark hair like Rem Saverem) and Aeris.

Quistis is cool too and my Canadian friend thought that some character in my painting of Psiren from FMA was Quistis. OK she kind of does when that cat burglar impersonates a teacher.

I'm close to the endgame bosses in said no equipment challenge. Steiner, Freya, Garnet and Vivi are all useless to me at this point. The most equipment dependent characters ever.

I play that game very differently than those JRPG dweebs on YouTube. Unlike those dweebs, I defeated Quale without any equipment and my characters took Quale's cheap ailments like real men. Poison, mini, confusion, etc.

No armor needed like how those pansyboys do it against Quina's master, a superboss, on YouTube. My team just kept fighting for their lives arduously with Amarant being the main muscle chucking ultima swords.

With Quale defeated, I can now complete Quina's frog catching minigames until he gets a suped up Frog Drop. That is, train him hard for Trance Kuja and Necron.

With that said, I definitely recommend the remastered version of FF9. Don't even have to play that game with equipment.

I've also been playing Ragnarok Online by the way. Trying those hot new renewal mechanics.
Kurt_Irving May 14, 2023 9:37 PM
So what do you love most about FF8? I've been playing FF9 without equipment.

Quina (I love his blue magic), Eiko and Amarant are the least dependent on equipment. Zidane is just there to throw dead peppers and support.

Quale is very hard to beat so I'll kill more Grand Dragons and get Amarant more disposable swords (Ultima Swords are kind of a ripoff).

As for manga, I'm thinking about reading Hajime no Ippo after Digimon V-Tamers. Which is pretty much a long story.

Definitely a whole different story than those Toei adaptations.

Other than that, TMS usually does a very good job with featuring interesting music in anime that they make.

I mentioned Lupin III to a middle-aged woman one time and said that she loved the music.

In conclusion, TMS anime may be worth your time.
