Because most of LN writers learned by playing Dragon Quest and similar games instead of reading western fantasy books.
That is, for the Japanese, fantasy is primarily a genre of video games, and not literature like ours?
You will be hard-pressed to find the actual older Japanase books considered a "classical fantasy" and it seems like most of modern JP authors had not read any actual fantasy books.

Why does half of Japanese fantasy sound like an RPG with a hero with a unique skill?

What's this? Guts but Kirito wearing Death gun mask featuring Ais Wallenstein?
I can already see how edgy it's gonna be. The Kirito clone doesn't seem promising, but I hope it will be an enjoyable trash, anyway.
Well so the rumors finally turned true.
Been planning to read this for a while, the LN community says it's trash so I was curious.
I have asked about this LN in one of the LN Discord servers. Their response are:
Reader 1: Protagonist is OP but not stupidly broken.
Reader 2: Protagonist absorbs stats from killing things but need to sacrifice stat to use skill.
I won't be reading this LN because I have too many LNs to read now. :/
EDIT:
Reader 3: Starts out decent but becomes stupid later.

Yeah, most of them just read the other authors Narou WebNovels, and then reproduce their tropes.
It's why so many low effort isekais look so similar. Even the twists (demon lord good/loli/protag, pseudo-underdog MC, damn status screens... most recently: SLAVERY, kicked from heros party, etc).
This one is...kinda bad, to be honest. Author has no sense for numbers, dude goes from double digitis to 5 digits, them 2 million+, etc. He having to sacrifice % of skills in some attacks barely helps, as in the next fights he is already facing someone with gigantic above the previous enemy status.
Is not a isekai, but it has the silly status screens and farmings. Worldbuilding...was kinda meh.
Main girl is way to much similar to Asuna (sans being blonde, a noble and less tsundere), even her damn blue armor and battle miniskrit is identical. MC is mostly her edgy simp, and a bit 2 similar to Kirito (but at this point is getting easy to point which fantasies dont use kiritofaces, isntead of those who use it) for my tastes.
Easy skip for me.
