A wise man once said regarding isekai in some random forum i happened to lurk when asked how long isekai will remain relevent -
i think it will come and go in waves from here on out
but it will continue to sell books without a doubt
other genres go through phases too but never die
so i don't think we've yet seen the last of isekai
This dude turned out to be not the most adequate person. For example, he began to insult me when I asked to hide too large illustrations under the spoiler and stated that by calling the work yuri bait I was "insulted it." Mono-genre people are really weird.
Do you want to tell a very funny anecdote? Salty Bocchi fans just tried to call me an elitist. ME. A dude who is on the ignore list of half of the elitists on this site because of making fun of them. These guys are really desperate to say anything.
Bocchi the Rock threads are something. It's been a long time since I've seen such stereotypically salty fans passive-aggressively attacking you just because you're skeptical of the show, to the point of "my hair is a bird, your argument doesn't work".
Typical mal. Dude just started watching NGNL yesterday for the first time and today he's arrogantly trying to tell me about this show like I need to explain what it is
Wanted to let you know this holiday season manage to get past the 600th Anime for my list. Recently I bought a LaserDisc player and went on an online splurge buying as many cheap Anime OVAs as I could find. So most of my most recently completed Animes are old OVAs from the 80s and 90s. It's shocking how cheap I can find retro Anime on Laserdisc over buying the same product on DVD and honestly in regards to Anime produced before the turn of the century the quality is actually better on Laserdisc in most cases than buying it even remastered on DVD. It also depends on the condition of the LaserDisc as well.
Some of the OVA titles from the 80s and 90s I have seen before but it's just been so long since I have seen any of them I wanted to get a fresh perspective before adding them to my current list. I have probably spent over $2000 this month on old Anime from the 80s and 90s. I still think it's one of the best investments of my life when it comes to retro Anime.
Right now the Crown Jewels of my Retro collection on Laser Disc are "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind", "Agent AIKa", "project A-Ko", "Bastard!!", and "Black Magic M-66".
I also remember you once mentioning that you were watching "Claymore" a while back. I finally found a decent copy of the entire series used on DVD. I just finished watching it this month and it's now one of my favorite dark fantasy Animes now.
Anyways wish you a happy holiday as well, if I don't hear from you again before Xmas.
