'Itou Junji: Maniac' Unveils Main Staff, Additional Cast, January 19 Premiere

The Netflix TUDUM Japan event revealed on Sunday the main staff and additional cast members for the Itou Junji: Maniac (Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre) net anime series. The anime is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix on January 19.

Sayuri Tsuji: Yuka Saitou (Seitokai no Ichizon)
Tagaisu: Yutaka Aoyama (Drifters)

Shinyusha (Intruder)
Tooru Oshikiri: Hiro Shimono (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

Kubitsuri Kikyuu (Hanging Balloon)
Kazuko Mori: Riho Sugiyama (Nami yo Kiitekure)
Shinya Shiraishi: Daisuke Kishio (Yowamushi Pedal)
Terumi Fujino: Iori Nomizu (Date A Live)

Shinobu Tagashira returns from the Itou Junji: Collection anime as director and character designer at Studio Deen. Other returning staff includes scriptwriter Kaoru Sawada, sound director Hozumi Gouda, and music composer Yuuki Hayashi.

The anime adapts 20 stories from Junji Itou's horror manga collection, Itou Junji Kessaku-shuu (Junji Ito Masterpiece Collection).

The art of the animation looks a bit too flat to my dislike, but hopefully the anime itself is great nonetheless.

Fuck, why is Studio Deen with the same mediocre director in charge of this... Cheap bastards can't hire better directors?
