'Itou Junji: Maniac' Announces Supporting Cast

The official website of the Itou Junji: Maniac (Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre) anime series announced on Friday ten supporting cast members and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix on January 19.

Gorou Shirasaki: Yuuki Kaji (Shingeki no Kyojin)
Kouko: Tomoe Hanba (Karakuri Circus)

Kubi no Nai Choukoku (Headless Sculpture)
Rumi: Fumiko Orikasa (Bleach)
Shimada: Takashi Kondou (91 Days)

Shinobu Tagashira returns from the Itou Junji: Collection anime as director and character designer at Studio Deen. Other returning staff includes scriptwriter Kaoru Sawada, sound director Hozumi Gouda, and music composer Yuuki Hayashi.

The anime adapts 20 stories from Junji Itou's horror manga collection, Itou Junji Kessaku-shuu (Junji Ito Masterpiece Collection).

I lot of people didn't unfortunately, and from what I've seen there are several glaring production errors that don't do the original manga justice, I will still try to hold out hope but my expectations are low right now

I think it will be a failure, sadly. They will skip manga chapters, overall I suppose it will be a bad adaptation. Better that Uzumaki will be in Maniac series. That way it can be adapted decently.
