New Slayers Anime To Be Titled Slayers Revolution

The recently released issue of Dragon Magazine has announced the official title of upcoming 4th series of the TV series Slayers. Slayers Revolution which is, to my knowledge, still without a release date was announced in the March 19th issue. It was not confirmed, but hinted at that the character Xellos will be the main character and not the popular female lead Lina. It was also reported that a major announcement will be made in the next issue of Dragon Magazine (going on sale May 20th, it is released bi-monthly.)

Dragon Magazine published the original light novels that started the franchise.

This should be interesting. I wonder if all the same cast will be gathered.

So could you say then that the order is Slayers Excellent->Slayers Special->Slayers The Motion Picture(Perfect)->Slayer Return->Slayers Great->Slayers Gorgeous->2 seasons of Slayers-> Slayers Premium->Slayers Try->???Slayers Revolution???

Man, there is no excuse to be downloading the previous tv series, funimation is releasing them for so cheap now *_* I have their releases of Slayers Next and Try. Gotta go back and grab their first season set. :D

i cant wait! Slayers is my favorite anime and now its going to get a sequel! i couldnt be happier!
and i wonder if any good fansub group will pick up this series, i pray some group like dattebayo will pick it up :)

Been pointed out its a joke ;) Lina will be the main star, as she should be.

Well I always liked Xellos but it's a shame that Lina's not the main character...I mean she "gives life" to Slayers :P But I guess I'll have to see the series before I can judge it :P I Can't wait!

Lina should be the lead. Its just the way the series is. More Xellos however, never is a bad thing. Lets hope he'll tag along with the party again.

Hmmm too bad Xellos wont be the main character, he is the best one from Slayers series, but anyway i hope 4th series will also be great

As dtshyk already pointed out Xellos as the main lead is a joke. Full translation of the article could be read here and deep inside of it is being revealed that Lina will remain as the main leading character.

TV series and moves+OVAs basically have separate plotlines (with movies and ovas technically being set earlier in the timeline). The only exception is the last movie, Slayers Premium, which belongs to TV series story. TV series are telling about Lina and her gang while movies and OVAs are about adventures of Lina and Naga. Movies and OVAs could be watched in any order since each of them has separate story. Time-wise, if memory serves me well, they were coming out like this: Motion Picture; Special OVA; Return; Great; Excellent OVA; Gorgeous.

To be honest I'm not sure, since I didn't watch any of the movies. I however suggest you watch the entire anime first, before watching the movies.
