Urusei Yatsura was the anime that got me into anime.

I'm really sad the original cast (the ones alive and still in the industry) weren't hired for their roles.

I'll watch this of course and I hope it gets more people into anime

It looks like it's keeping as much as it can from the original show. I think that's okay.

I hope it gets a good enough run.

I see the anime is quite popular in Japan. I don't know whether the story is poorly aged or something. Will give it a try when it comes out.

Looks really good visually. The voice actress for Lum sounds really spot on too. I've known about the original and how influential it was, but I've never sat down to watch it. I'll be sure to watch this.

well i'm not sure about the premise but it looks like something that I would watch for sure. Just hope the animation is better than the PV.

It's certainly got the all-stars treatment, though adapting only certain segments of the manga for a 4-cour, 52 episode max remake, which I'm fine with it since the standard of 100+ episodes isn't as sustainable now, compared to back then in the golden age of anime in the 1980s.

Regardless, I'd expect DavidPro to go all out on this, something close to JoJo-like production process.

Visually it looks pretty good if you ask me...I've never seen this series before so I'm glad that my first outing with it SHOULD be a good one

But man this Fall is truly goated now lol

same here, i've never watched the original so this is going to be my entry point. the visuals are nice, i'm looking forward to it!

This will be even better than the original.

From that short trailer everyone except Ataru seems to draw from the original cast in their performance which is great, the original cast is legendary. I was worried since the anouncement that Ataru might be miscast but we'll see. Miscasts don't happen all that often so I'll try to limit my worries. The visual direction looks good and hey, they even brought the old theme song back.
