Adult Swim Announces 'Ninja Kamui' Original Anime

Adult Swim announced an original futuristic ninja action-adventure anime titled Ninja Kamui on Wednesday. The programming block also revealed the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured).

Seong-Hu Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of High School) is helming the anime at E&H Production and Sola Entertainment. Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai, Garo: Vanishing Line) is designing the characters.

Synopsis
Ninja Kamui will follow Joe Higan who is a Nukenin—a former ninja who escaped his clan and is hiding from his violent past in rural America with his family. One night, he is ambushed by a team of assassins from his former organization who exact a bloody retribution on Joe and his family for betraying their ancient code.

Rising from his seeming "death," Joe will re-emerge as his former self—Ninja Kamui—to avenge his family and friends. Kamui is a 21st century ninja, a shadowy anachronism who pits his ancient skills against high-tech weaponry with brutal finesse. He must face off against trained assassins, combat cyborgs, and rival ninjas to bring down the very clan that made him. (Source: Deadline)

Yeah, I want to add it too. the premiere date is on 11th Feb. and this snip was the only news about it. if the entry for the database is pending for approval why it wasn't already tho 😳

Literally sounds like an anime version of the game Mark of the Ninja. Which is amazing btw. Ill stay optimistic. Its about ninjas in 21st century. All it has to do is be cool. If it succeeds at that, ill be entertained.

And here I hoped for a translation of Sanpei Shirato's legendary "Kamui" series for a second...But it sounds like a very obvious ripoff? Or homage? Eh.

Wow they really got Park for this project, hope this doesn't suck.Last anime i saw that combined ninjas and high tech weaponry was .....Yasuke.

This sounds like a Mark Millar comic, like Wanted or Kingsmen. I'm up for it.
By the director, I hope the action sequences would be dope.
