The wraparound band on the ninth volume of Shuumatsu no Walküre (Record of Ragnarok) announced a television anime adaptation for the manga on Saturday. Warner Bros. Japan simultaneously opened an official website, revealing staff, cast, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. The anime series will debut in 2021.

Synopsis
High above the realm of man, the gods of the world have convened to decide on a single matter: the continued existence of mankind. Under the head of Zeus, the deities of Ancient Greece, Norse mythology, and Hinduism, among others, call assembly every one thousand years to decide the fate of humanity. Because of their unrelenting abuse toward each other and the planet, this time the gods vote unanimously in favor of ending the human race.

But before the mandate passes, Brunhild, one of the 13 demigod Valkyries, puts forth an alternate proposal: rather than anticlimactically annihilating mankind, why not give them a fighting chance and enact Ragnarök, a one-on-one showdown between man and god? Spurred on by the audacity of the challenge, the divine council quickly accepts, fully confident that this contest will display the utter might of the gods. To stand a chance against the mighty heavens, Brunhild will need to assemble history's greatest individuals, otherwise the death knell will surely be sounded for mankind. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

If I was reading manga, I wouldn't be joking about the cast. So, its like god Kengan Ashura?

Is just one big tournament arc between lolgods and lolfamoushumans. All depicted as muscular warriors with magical flashy superpowers.

Some of the humans who will fight:

Some of the gods fighting

Is like a Fate/something meets God of HighSchool. As long as they dont fuck up pacing like GOHS (giving to few episodes to adapt to many chapters) and the animation is consistent and good, it will be a good timewaster.
Nothing legendary in terms of plot or chars, mind you...

From what I've seen in recent chapters, this is something like the Kengan Ashura Gods edition.

Fuck yes, I’ve been waiting for this announcement

Id rather read it. That staff with what I heard the story was spells disaster. But it got me interested in the manga at least.

I see you haven't read the manga. This isn't a harem series. It's just god vs god action. So I'm hoping for high-quality animation.

Its awesome this shit got an adaption. Its all about the fights, but the stakes are high as fuck. A tournament done right. If your looking for a deep complex story....man fuck that shit! Yall need to watch this!

Wow, cannot belive it has getting an anime adaptation that relatively soon. The trailer got my hyped even if it didn't show much. The staff looks solid, so I hope it ends being good, even if it probably wouldn't get to the level of the manga.

Also, time has happened since I saw Miyuki Sawashiro starring in a main role. And as Brunhilde of all characters, couldn't have wished for a better choice to voice her tbh.

Miyukichi as main chara (again),

Definitely yes.
In facts, Miyukichi ever worked together with male casts, such as Tomokazu Seki and Wataru Takagi in Beelzebub & 1 Piece, and (even special) to Hikaru Midorikawa who worked (again) in 1 Punch Man, Fire Emblem Heroes, Persona 3 & they're have same agency in Aoni Pro

You're also realized that male casts are worked in Pop team Epic, Seki and Hikaru are voiced Popuko (in different eps), while Takagi voiced Pipimi

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCKING SHIT MIYUKI SAWASHIRO MY QUEEN I MISSED YOU AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

THERE ISNT ENOUGH MATERIAL FOR A GOOD PACING IN 12 EPS THO BUT STILL THEY NEED TO MAKE ADAM AND SASAKI'S FIGHT PLLEEEEEEEEASSSEEEEEE.

2021 already best year no contest

Great premise and character design in this series but sadly really badly executed.

Hopefully anime can save it and sure it can since its just fight after fight of mankind's greatest warriors vs Gods of different mythologies. Can def work well in anime format.

Dec 19, 2020 5:30 AM by Ramkec

the manga is literally fight after fight so my only concern is the animation

Dec 19, 2020 4:50 AM by Askaa

The manga is awesome, let's hope the anime does it justice.

Dec 19, 2020 3:18 AM by JokerVentura

This will be torn apart, but I'm looking forward to it. If done right the epicness can still be done justice, even without tons of fluid animation.

Dec 19, 2020 2:42 AM by FMmatron

Is this happening?Yes,it's happening.

Dec 19, 2020 2:27 AM by _grimreaper0_

Haven't heard of this thing until now, but it sounds cool as fuck. I will probably read the manga first since adaptation of a battle manga with designs this complex by a mid studio most likely won't live up to expectations.

Dec 19, 2020 2:26 AM by Tsarko

this is action flick and somehow the PV didn't impress me at all, which is bad things since the visual are it's main appeal.

Dec 19, 2020 1:09 AM by Kuma

ooh, I find out about the manga just a few days ago, what perfect timing. I'm looking forward to this anime.
