All these people fretting over Okamoto Nobuhiko have clearly not watched enough of his shows except Bnha and maybe Haikyuu lmao. He was SUPER chill in "Maid-sama" as Usui "Welcome to the ballroom" and as KArma in "Assassination Classroom".

I know all the fans are happy they're keeping the original art style, but the lack of shading in the art disturbs me.

This! The complete lack of any shading and highlights looks really weird and i cannot unsee this, totally takes you out of the immersion and doesn't feel like a real anime but rather like a colored manga instead... :/

As a fan it turned me off in the beginning too, but after watching the PV a few times it doesn't seem that bad, especially the animation. Reminds me of Studio Ghibli vibes, with the vibrant colours and background and all. Not sure why they put so little effort into the poster lmao

Also the director said it's an intentional choice to go with the original art style of the comic, which IS a coloured comic (the art improves a lot later though). https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/tower-of-god/list?title_no=95&page=47

On the other hand, there's still some extra shading like these

Can't say I agree with his choice but I'll take what we get. For most of the other characters, I think this is what they call the Kagenashi (shadowless) technique? It's not the first time it's been used iirc. At any rate the story will 2000x make up for it

What the heck are you talking about? unlike newbies like you I'm following him since 2011 I'm already aware of his roles you mentioned in fact I told in my first comment that

By means I love his voice better this way. Never said anything insulting AT ALL. Stop being so protective over the guy and don't forget that this is a free world of speech which means I'm entitled to tell my opinion sheesh. Are you his wife or something?

Didn't knew his fangirls could be that toxic. Lol.

Hi, please reread what you just said, can you sincerely tell me you're not overreacting? You're both allowed to have your opinions but please don't antagonize people/start trouble over a difference in opinion.

Lol i'm not here to antagonize anyone at all, no that wasn't my intention. She's accusing me of fretting over the voice actor which i never did. And i have never insulted the seiyuu either. She was the one who's being disrespectful to my opinion.

This is my final comment on this thread. I have zero interest in starting an argument/fight here.

Yeah. It is definitely not fitting for him.

Despite him being a really talented and my number one favorite voice actor, i think his voice chords need to take a rest and anime directors should've give him a different role instead of typecasting him. I feel like i'm missing his calm and cute that he used for Okumura Rin.

Edit: I've just seen the trailer and it seems like he's going to use his calm voice. I'm so glad. :')

Haha yea Khun is the calm, calculating type. Probably won't hear him raise his voice for 99% of the story.
