An official website was launched on Wednesday to reveal that King Records' multimedia project Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle will get a TV anime adaptation. Subtitled Rhyme Anima, it will premiere in 2020. Staff behind the project will announce more information regarding the anime in March.

Synopsis
In a world where women now dominate the government, the creation and use of weapons is strictly forbidden. However, by no means has conflict been brought to an end; instead of weapons, war is waged through words. With the power of the "Hypnosis Mic," lyrics can affect one's opponent in various ways and cause real damage. Those in the divisions outside the women-only Chuou Ward thus use it for fierce rap battles as their weapon in the constant clash for territory. (Source: Tokyo Otaku Mode)

Honestly, i'd rather watch only the animated rap battles instead of a full anime series lol. Heck, i'd rather watch an 8-mile style live action rap battle of them.

Their 3rd rap battle and the new 2 divisions (excluding the whattheirname all-girls division) are wack asf.

Holy crap them bishies tho?!!!!!!!!!

By chance I saw IG story of a senpai that lived in Japan, there was posters of hypnosis mic at train station and my eyes quick to see them bishies (which I later learned the name of one of them as Ramuda). I did quick google and woah, I think I fell in love.

I'm not much into rap but the theme song is LIT.

I have my eyes on Fling Posse especially Gentarou and Ramuda!!!! Srlsy they are so beautiful?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how they are going to animate the rap battles but... I have a feeling people who don't know the series beforehand will be like "!!!" and "???" when they see it for the first time in the anime xD

I hope they will not ruin it. I've been waiting for this info for a long time.

i had a feeling they'd do this lol. the TDD manga series kept running into delays and people weren't picking it up as much and felt really disorganized. hoping the anime will be better.

So, there are many anime who are based from video games in next year such as shin sakura wars, onmyouji and hypnosis mic

So rap and an all-male cast, two things I absolutely don't wanna see in anime. Guess I'll pass on this one, everyone else have fun if this is your cup of tea.

Finally! Please do them Hypmic hotties justice. Give me the fierce rap battles!!

I'm so happy it's getting an anime. I didn't believe it would happen, but I'm happy to be proved wrong. I just hope some good studio will take care of it, cause I want to see my boys Ramuda and Sasara animated as beautifully as possible.

I'M SCREAMING HOLY SHIT

Dec 5, 2019 2:02 PM by kyw

If rap didn't suck so bad, I'd watch this, but I think I'm gonna pass.

Really didn't expect an anime adaptation at all considering they just released the two new divisions and their new albums so recently. We're too well fed by this franchise :') Can't wait to see them all animated!!

(PS: there's some mistake for the names of the members in dotsuitare hompo, it should be Sasara Nurude and Rei Amayado)

We're getting more news about the anime staff, etc. the same month the mobage releases if it's not delayed again, I'm even more excited for March now!!

I wonder how they will handle it, considering the lore and characters' backstories are still bare bones in some way. I will watch it, but I won't get my hopes too up.

I've always been interested in this franchise but never actually gone deep into it, just sorta read little bits of character lore and enjoyed fanart. I never actually knew what the context of the story was, and after reading the synopsis... THAT'S WHAT IT'S ABOUT?! I had no idea...

Anyway, I look forward to the anime - especially seeing Samatoki.
