Main Staff, Spring 2020 Premiere Announced for 'Tamayomi' TV Anime

Avex Entertainment launched an official website for the television anime adaptation of Mountain Pukuichi's girls baseball manga Tamayomi on Monday, revealing the lead staff and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime series is scheduled for a Spring 2020 premiere.

Toshinori Fukushima, known for directing the later seasons of the baseball anime Major, is helming the series at Studio A-CAT. Touko Machida (Harukana Receive, Sounan Desu ka?) is handling the series composition. Kouichi Kikuta (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) is designing the characters.

Tamayomi follows the pitcher Yomi Takeda, who was not able to get very far in a cross-school baseball tournament in her Junior High years. Since the catcher on her team wasn't at her level, she couldn't use her signature move, the "Magic Throw," and eventually regretted not being able to use it. After Junior High, she decided to stop playing baseball and went to Shin Koshigaya High School, a school without a baseball club.

There, she found her long lost childhood friend, Tamaki Yamazaki, who used to play catchball with her when they were kids. Tamaki also played baseball during her Junior High years as a catcher, and could even catch Yomi's "Magic Throw!"

Their promise with each other during their childhood could now be fulfilled! Walking together on the road of baseball once again... The story of the girls who love baseball will begin! (Source: MU)

Manga Time Kirara Forward began serializing the slice of life sports manga in April 2016. Houbunsha published the fifth volume earlier this year on March 12 and will ship the sixth volume on September 12.

Yeah, I'm being a bit quick on my judgment. Judging from the visuals, Tamayomi looks like it'll be more serious about baseball than cinderella 9.
The uniform is still going be a big itch for me though, it just bothers that they're not going to be realistic about it. Like players are going to be diving for the ball on the dirt mound. It's a personal problem I'll deal with if Tamayomi is a good watch.

One of the reasons why I didn't bother touching Cinderella Nine, nor am I going to touch this one too. I get that it's for sex appeal, but these girls will get bloody knees if they play in those kinds of uniforms. I just want a real female baseball anime/manga.
The closest I ever had, possibly the only one I will ever have, was Cross Game.

Seems like an unimportant detail to be game-breaking for a series. I'd recommend ignoring it, and enjoying the series for the bits that are a BIT more important

I believe the characters in princess nine have a bit more protection. I'm not sure about Taisho Baseball girls, because all the pictures of that feature characters in their school uniforms.

Wow.....this actually looks interesting and I'll be looking forward to it. I just hope it's good because the last baseball anime that I watched (Cinderella Nine) was disappointing. I'm also hoping the animation is good because Cinderella Nine has one of the worst animations I've ever seen for a sports anime.

Looks fairly interesting and the Staff is quite great too, so I’m definitely keeping an eye on this for now!
