This year's 26th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine has announced that Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) manga will get a TV anime. The anime is slated for next winter via Fuji TV's noitaminA timeslot.

Synopsis
At Grace Field House, life couldn't be better for the orphans! Though they have no parents, together with the other kids and a kind "Mama" who cares for them, they form one big, happy family. No child is ever overlooked, especially since they are all adopted by the age of 12. Their daily lives involve rigorous tests, but afterwards, they are allowed to play outside.

There is only one rule they must obey: do not leave the orphanage. But one day, two top-scoring orphans, Emma and Norman, venture past the gate and unearth the horrifying reality behind their entire existence: they are all livestock, and their orphanage is a farm to cultivate food for a mysterious race of demons. With only a few months left to pull off an escape plan, the children must somehow change their predetermined fate. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The fantasy thriller manga began serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in August 2016, and has eight volumes in print as of April 4. Shueisha plans to publish the ninth volume along with the Yakusoku no Neverland: Norman kara no Tegami novel on June 4. In a recent interview with Mainichi Shimbun's Mantan Web news website, the supervising editor of the manga mentioned that the series has reached its "turning point." Yakusoku no Neverland has a cumulative 4.2 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English simultaneously with the Japanese release as a part its Jump Start initiative, and has since been serializing the series in their digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The third volume went on sale on April 3, with the fourth volume planned for a June 5 release. The manga has also been published in multiple foreign languages.

Yakusoku no Neverland was nominated consecutively in the 10th and 11th editions of the annual Manga Taisho award, as well as the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and won the 63rd Shogakukan manga award for shounen manga this past January. The series also placed first in male readers category in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi rankings last December.

36 chapter (whcih 2 of them is long chapter) is overdone, for dialoge heavy series.... if we adaptiong full action series, than it has no problem....
3 chapters per episode is normal pace for me. 37 chapter (first chapter can we count as 2 chapter) in 12-13 Episode. Even Death Note which was non-action series had 108 chapters in 37 episodes, almosy 3 chapters per episode. If 36 chapters be adapted to 25 episodes, it will be too slow.

lot of information and character buildup skipped.... the onle stay is atmosphere and intensity, which i admit anime done right... and it was not that much problem because it's more thriller than mystery and only main protag and anatgonist is necessary to made depth, the rest not really impotant (which later part fail to do so in the end , one of reason also starting to made bigger cast) and the rest is mainly fodder....

same can't be said about neverland because we supposed to heavy invested with lot character the series offer even in the first chapter other than our main trio....

i do admit 2 cour is too long, hence why i also not suggest that way (also noitamina block is 11-12 to 22-24 episode)....

I think i prefer first season just have 1 cour that cover first arc, than second season will have 2 cours with 1st cour adapt searc of b-206 arc and 2nd cour cover golden pond arc.

Lol what do u mean ?
Their latest anime were great
A place further than the universe was fantastic
And no game no life 0 was great

How about Hanayamata, Overlord, All Out!, Prince of Stride: Alternative, Mahou Sensou. You bring up those titles because they aren't as forgettable as the ones I just mentioned but make no mistake, they produce equally as much average shows as they produce good shows, while everyone acts like Madhouse is god on earth. That's my point.
didn't those anime come out like that cause of the source material itself not being consistant?
And mahou sensou is a 2014 anime they released a lot of great anime during this periode and after so saying that the studio ain't what it was anymore just because they had some fails or they adpated some noto so great source material
Even tho most of their release are relatively good ain't fair

Anw animating this manga needs a lot of efforts i don't want the sibilings in the background to look like some doodle made by a 4 years old and don't want no slideshows when a big numbers of sibilings
Appear in the same scene or when dem monsters appear
And judjing by the animes
i watched by them they r great at capturing the feels of the source material and boosting it

Anw it is just my opinion

Because if first season ended at that 2nd arc. i think it will not satisfied anime-only . Ending of first arc is more fit to be a season ending.

Can you share the link that confirms its not true?

>what true

anime adaptation pretty much confirmed, since cover leaks is more legetimate than unsourced rumours (it's also hard to faked anyways)... so any information from cover leaks like anime adaptation character design, and it aired in Fuji TV noitamina block in winter 2019 is confirmed..

>what untrue

the staff rumors...
Masayoshi Tanaka (who is supposed to be the characters design of TPN) denied the rumors on his twitter.
https://twitter.com/tanamasa0119/status/997107122499301378
The post says overall that its the first time he heard that hes working on the chara design of TPN and hes not doing it.
Masayoshi Tanaka and now Kyohei Ishiguro both confirmed on Twitter that they are NOT working on the anime.
credit: @Spectro889 @datrandomdude

>what unconfiermed

the studio behind it... the rumor of cloverworks or ufotable already stayed a while,
https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/8g4amq/on_may_5th_studio_ufotable_will_announce_a_new/
none made confirmation that they will done TPN adaptation...

>what need to considered

another weekly shounen jump series also giving important anouncement next week... high possibility to be anime adaptation... so any rumour can also goes for both...
https://twitter.com/pkjd818/status/991207122225451008
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2018-05-27/demon-slayer-kimetsu-no-yaiba-manga-has-super-important-announcement-on-june-4/.132057

_____________

so, i'll wait further information to judge.... however, it's hard to do first arc in only a cour or 2 cour... maybe more fit with 2 cour with their meeting with the demon
....

Well, ofcourse they make "average and bad" shows just like every other studio does, really. Some absolutely love these shows, some don't, totally normal. I, for one, could not give a shit less about what studio produces what, aslong as I actually enjoy it, I'm more than pleased.

Overlord and "forgettable" don't really add up does it? You don't have to like the show or be a fan of Madhouse and such, but saying that while it actually got a 3rd season when many popular shows don't even get a 2nd, and is immensely popular in Japan aswell as overseas, indicates that it is anything but "forgettable" for many people or am I wrong?

Well, anyways its all just different preferences and opinions, aslong as people can respect that, everything should be fine.

You just answered your own question in your own reply. They're making a third season of it because the LN is popular in Japan, the animation of the anime wasn't anything out of this world, the lizard arc was a cgi fest, so they're probably not spending a lot of budget producing it and they can make some quick cash off it. The only thing I like in Overlord are the character designs.

I just wanted to mention that the series is anything but "forgettable", as you claimed it to be. (in terms of popularity)
Sure they want to make money off of it, but if the majority of the people enjoy it, who cares how good the animation is, or if they use CGI? I don't mind either to be honest. Have seen better yes, but it certainly is nothing that puts me off any show. If the story and characters are likeable, I'll watch it regardless.
Maybe they the "main/better staff" will work on the 3rd season, compared to the 2nd, since "only" 2 shows so far are being produced by Madhouse this summer season. So there is definitely space for improvement. Who knows, all I know is that my favorite volumes are being animated, so I'm happy regardless.

That's a very weak reason for that to be honest. The footnote is not uncommon. Because Aniplex also funded several other studios in the past to produce anime including Sunrise, Bones, Madhouse, ufotable, P.A works, SHAFT, Deen to name a few.

The renowned studio they never sponsored is Kyoto Animation. Not that it really matters because this is not something KyoAni would work on nor it would match with KyoAni's styles.

you're right. Aniplex isn't only anime production company but music and soundtrack records as well. It was just a hunch.

Time to start reading this thing before the anime airs so I can go to the comment section in Kissanime and tell them "The manga is better , read the manga".
