The selection committee of the 42nd Kodansha Manga Awards is composed of mangaka Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina), Tochi Ueyama (Cooking Papa), Oh! Great (Air Gear), Atsushi Kase (Chameleon), Miyuki Kobayashi (Kitchen no Ohimesama), Yuuji Moritaka (Gurazeni), and Waki Yamato (Haikara-san ga Tooru).
