I was just quoting star wars LOL. Haven't read the LN, but the anime was edgy and ubelievably, pretentious. It's like they wanted to cram everything in a normal school setting (that survival island arc), or say, talk about social hierarchy and other heavy subjects with no basis on the narrative. Being set in a high school and trying to tackle everything in such a serious manner makes it the more ridiculous. I doubt the LN would be something I'd like based on my opinion tbh, but I can't speak with certainty.
Well, if it's not to your liking, fair enough.
But calling it terrible just because it isn't to your liking and you haven't even read it, I don't think that's very fair.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Honestly I don't know what is their direction after beating EU. I even forgot what Team Baskervile is all about.

I understand completly. I personaly liked the anime. After reading the novel I like it less, but it's still ok. I mean I can understand people who say his edgeness was out of left field since the anime cut a lot of his monologues in first two volumes so it seems that way. But the truth is this novel really takes off at V4 where we finally see the mc's true face and the best girl makes her debut as one of the mains actually.
Blame lerche or producer knowing most LN adaptation that jumbled up in 12 episodes ends up a failure or mediocre if they decided to adapt 3/4, volume and cutting some necessary scene.
It makes me think that most of them are nothing but an advertisement.
