'Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni' Movie Gets Extended Version

It was announced via the one year anniversary of Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni (In This Corner of the World) movie premiere on Sunday that an extended version of the movie is in production. More information will be announced at a later date.

Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni is based on the manga drawn by Fumiyo Kouno, which was serialized in Manga Action magazine between January 2006 to January 2009 for total of three compiled volumes. The movie premiered in Japanese theaters on November 12, 2016, and Sunday marks the final screening day in the Shinjuku theater. The movie has received multiple awards, including the Excellence Film award of 71st Mainichi Film Award, 40th Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year, Judge award for The Annecy International Animated Film, among others. The Blu-ray and DVD were released on September 15, 2017 in Japan and topped the rankings in its first week. The movie also premiered in the US in August of this year.

The manga and the live action contain the story of the prostitute who is his first love. This part was left out of the anime movie because it ran too long Both are worth watching The scenes with Rin should not be left out I have watched both twice but will watch the extended version again Gives you a good idea how the Japanese lived with the American bombing at the end of the war

Well I've already seen it and it was a decent film. Dunno if I'll rewatch it just for this though but maybe in the distant future

I was actually supposed to watch this last weekend, but became a bit too busy. But now I guess it's a good thing I didn't. I'll wait for the extended version :)

THe movie is overrated trash !! I was almost sleeping when watching it. It is not half as good as Grave of the Fireflies

Yes, if IIRC there are some scenes from the PV that didn't showed up in the movie and the director apologize for that. Also,
