'Yoake Tsugeru Lu no Uta' and 'Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni' Win Awards at Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2017

The Annecy International Animated Film Festival announced this year's winners on Saturday. Masaaki Yuasa's Yoake Tsugeru Lu no Uta won the Cristal award for feature films, and Sunao Katabuchi's Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni won the Judge award for feature films.

The Annecy International Animated Film Festival has been held since 1960, and it has featured films, short films, films produced for television and advertising, student films, and films made for the internet. It has been 22 years since a Japanese animation has received a feature films award from the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which was Heisei Tanuki Gassen Ponpoko.

Good news.
Definitely two movies I'm looking forward to watch alongside with the other Yuasa adaptation of a Tomihiko Morimi's novel and Haikara-san ga Tōru remake movies.

Nice. Anime's reputation is getting better. Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni is currently available on my local cinemas, perhaps I really need to watch it.

Btw, Crunchyroll mentioned that Blame! 's director announced sequel for Sidonia and Blame in Annecy Festival (Blame was screened on Annecy too).

I can't see what country you reside in so this information might be useless but if you're in the UK, both are having cinematic screenings. Corner of the World at the end of this month & Lu sometime later in the year.
