During the Nico Live stream for the "Happy light Cafe #19: Dies irae SHOP Special!" event by Light, it was announced that the previously announced anime adaptation of Dies Irae will begin its broadcast in Fall 2017 and the director will be Susumu Kudou (Magic Kaito 1412). More details, including the opening theme song information which will be performed by Yui Sakakibara x Keishi Yonao, will be revealed in Spring 2017 once the official website for the anime project has launched. A crowdfunding for its first episode pre-screening event is also planned.

The VN has been confirmed for a Steam release. (Funnily enough, the VN was confirmed for a Steam release on a Japanese poster before any of the people officially working on it announced it themselves.)

Well the VN itself uses some very unorthodox prose and presentation and is also apparently super challenging to translate so that's not a surprise.

Sounds interesting. I guess I can look forward to the waifu-ization of that Latin hymn or whatever it is.

Dies Irae apparently is a poem-turned-song for the dead.

So I guess that's a little insight on what the anime will be about.
I've seen the introduction for the VN, just a short 10 minute scene, but it seems like it's going to be amazing.

Ooh, I bet they think they're soo fancy, using a Latin title (among other things).

I'm not familiar with the franchise but going to give it a shot. 2-cour seems like they can adapt the story for quite a bit.

Considering how praised the VN is I'm definitely looking forward to this, but Fall 2017 isn't exactly around the corner :s

Why the hell they announce it a year before it actually airs? I never understood this

1 year away is like nothing compared to the stuff we've heard before being off with like 2 years+.
