It should definitely be mentioned if it's a music CD and it has seiyuu that are Anime seiyuu. Out of all the things to complain about.......
Ensemble Stars looks like a more legitimate competition for UtaPri than Side-M.

I love how many of these still have absolutely nothing to do with anime demonstrating that the person compiling it doesn't know the difference.
EJC should seriously take over this column or something, like the guy has demonstrated multiple times he knows what he's talking about and that he's willing to answer questions and provide useful information, that he knows what to correct and just seems like an all around reasonable person.
Actually, it's not tsubasalover's fault. She's just following the MAL guidelines, regardless if they are obviously ridiculous or she disagrees with some of them. Testimony from previous news mods, made it seem like mods have little freedom in what they can do here on MAL. It's really up to the users here to voice whether a certain guideline is just plain ridiculous, but many users here don't care much about the state of the News Discussion forum. They're just here casually, or to stir the pot by posting rubbish like "Japan has shit taste", or to cheer on their favourite music artist (even if the CD doesn't relate to anime at all), or their favourite anime/manga/novel series. There are a some here who actually knows what's happening, but unfortunately they are in the minority.
As for me, I would've applied to be a news mod/anime db mod/manga db mod in 2014 (after that locking threads after a few weeks debacle), but after hearing that testimony from previous news mods.. it made me lose any desire to even bother. Tsubasalover is doing a great job here considering all the limitations she has to adhere to here on MAL. I'm just answering questions and providing useful information in my spare time, but I may have little time to do this next year, as i'll be even more busy.

Anyway yeah it says a lot about the wall that Love Live seems to present even within the whole Lantis subset that an ensemble Cinderella Girls package with all the bells and whistles still isn't quite up to the level of Love Live's least popular sub unit despite the year of iDOLM@STER really helping it's profile. Of course this also demonstrates Bandai's goal to focus on iDOLM@STER this year was the right choice because Love Live can carry and grow itself at this point without too much trouble (largely effortless launch of Aqours as an example) and it did result in a significant boost for the iDOLM@STER brand and a very successful launch of the new smart phone game. Hell they don't even have to advertise Love Live much anymore these days, it's going to be in Red and White and NHK is practically doing it for them with the specials it's been pulling out to cover the phenomenon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-CXa8Bp_8M
Seriously this is mainstream national television to explain Love Live to the uninitiated in a non-threatening way in anticipation of Red and White, not paid advertising.
I suspect the decision to make a new mobile game was due to the original Cinderella Girls game having a very lopsided fanbase (85:15 male to female, while the franchise as a whole was 90:10), which i've mentioned before. It isn't a coincidence that the Side-M series was made, because the nature of the original Idolmaster makes it difficult to appeal to female fans. I guess they also don't want to let UtaPri dominate the male idol market, but still it is nowhere near UtaPri, and Ensemble Stars looks like a more legitimate competition for UtaPri than Side-M.
I agree that what Love Live has achieved in just a few years is phenomenal. They've featured on many mainstream TV programs now, and are also set to appear on the Music Station show on TV Asahi:
http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/music/contents/m_lineup/cur/
... where Music Station have historically not looked favorably at anime-related artists, with MIZUKI Nana being the real exception to have performed on there before. Kouhaku is also very big for Love Live, as it is almost unheard of for an anime-related artist who isn't already mainstream to even have a chance to be invited to perform, unless you're MIZUKI Nana. It is definitely ironic that Idolmaster, which has been around twice as long as Love Live, is the one in major need of advertisement, but I guess Love Live is just from another planet. One other thing i'd like to point out is below:
2015年CD売上枚数 ()は年内のリリース数
*1 874,056 THE IDOLM@STERシリーズ (39)
*2 779,117 ラブライブ! (8)
*3 332,296 うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ (10)
*4 310,675 血界戦線 (3)
*5 165,385 戦姫絶唱シンフォギア (8)
So we have Idolmaster having almost 100K total sales over Love Live for 2015, but that is from 39 new CDs compared to Love Live's 8 new CDs. This is what lengths Idolmaster has to go through just to win out in one category over Love Live. Love Live obviously beats Idolmaster easily in terms of average sales per CD, of 97.4K vs 22.4K, lol.

Wow... I've spent long time yesterday to compile it and being commented "doesn't know the difference" hurts...
[spoiler]I know a lots are not related to anime / seiyuus (still in the process of figuring out for album especially for djcd or drama cd related to anime are worthy of adding them), and a lot of time I'm reluctant to include them, but it's the MAL's rule for music rankings to include those that are in db.

Lower than expected sales (slightly higher than their last sub-unit single, which sold 38,546 in the first week., but at least #1 for anime-related songs this week. Even with BD Video/Audio bundled with the Idolmaster CD, it of course couldn't beat Printemps. Only an event ticket + BD Video/Audio + other bonuses bundled would've done it.
Not quite sure if Printemps is the least popular sub-unit or lily white is, because historically Printemps has the lowest first week sales, but lily white has the lowest overall sales. This could be to do with Printemps having stock issues in the first week, so shall see if it is again the case this time. BiBi of course is the most popular sub-unit.
100K sales shouldn't be too hard at this rate for HtH.
