'Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation' Adds More Cast and New Key Visual

Monday's Phantasy Star Online event Sympathy 2015, which commemorates the 15th anniversary of the video game series, announced additional cast members for Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation. A new key visual (pictured) was also revealed. The plot of the series will be an original story set in the universe of Sega's Phantasy Star Online 2 video game.

Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation will begin airing on TBS and other networks on January 8, 2016. An advance screening of the first episode will be held on December 29, 2015 at Theatre Shinjuku in Tokyo. Tickets for that event will go on sale on December 13.

I played a psp version to it a few years back. Thought it was ok.

I would like a plot synopsis at this point. Given this is a Phantasy Star based anime but it's set "on earth" or something stupid like that just makes me think Sega is desperately riding SAO's coattails.
