Supporting Cast of TV Anime 'Hai to Gensou no Grimgar' Announced

The official website of the Winter 2016 TV anime Hai to Gensou no Grimgar has announced additional cast members for the series. It will adapt the fantasy adventure light novel of the same name, written by Ao Jyumonji and illustrated by Eiri Shirai.

LN? A-1? Probably going to be trash. I've noticed A-1 is in a trend where they drop a fantasy action anime at least once or twice a year, generally the LN ones are terrible though, in fact most of the LN adaptations they do are pretty bad. Although I'd say that's more because LNs are generally bad.

Man is there any studio with more polarized positions on their general quality than A-1?

My only gripe with A-1 is when they try to do action anime. They're just not the right studio for it. They're not a bad studio but I won't say they're great either, especially when it comes to their adaptations.

This seems like it's handled by a good director though, who's also doing the script and series composition, and I like the art in PV so I'll be having some sort of expectations for this despite what I said above.

Considering how conservative and sexist Japan is there's not you can do.
And it's not like Japan is the only one who does it, gays in media were always over the top until things have started calming down in recent years, even now, if there's a gay in your show they are likely there for comedic reasons.

As opposed to any other? I honestly can't really think of one instance in anime where a homosexual character isn't played as a full throttle flamer instead of just another character who happens to be gay. Japan is really not so great when it comes to stereotyping.

Needless to say... that hair isn't green and those eyes aren't really sky-blue.
I have no idea why they'd change these things in particular but... they changed them.
This is how he looks in the manga.

Renji got a seriously good pick so that's great too. And he looks pretty spot on, badass.

Now... Barbara... that's not who Barbara is meant to be... now, I'm actually going to be honest and say this is an actual good change, it's a lot more fitting than the manga and novel Barbara for a thief class. Needless to say that her seiyuu is not what I had in mind either but since she's different now as long as they keep the personality it's all good.
