*5. *25,983 Gintama: Kanketsu-hen - Yorozuya yo Eien Nare Regular Edition

Gintama has otaku appeal while Naruto is mainstream so Gintama has higher chances of selling more discs than Naruto even though the later does way better at box office.(Ghibli and disney movies are exceptions, they do well in all categories)

and you forgot to say how much better Gintama is than that shit of a series called Naruto.

If you are going to correlate popularity with quality a.k.a ad poplumn Gintama will lose.

It's very revealing how different these do. They both cover the same subject targeting the same demographics, but one is oriented towards wishfullfillment , while the other tends toward realistic.

Fujoshi also means female otaku.

There are female otaku who are not fujoshi, so it is wrong to think of the 2 terms as directly interchangeable. It is best just to stick to its actual definition of a female who has an interest in BL (boy's love), rather than labelling the whole female otaku community as all fujoshi.

Thus AquaWateria is correct is considering fujoshi separately, as otaku alone could mean male otaku, female otaku who are not fujoshi or female otaku who are fujoshi.

Yeah I know that Fujoshi means female otaku but I wanted to be more specific about the audience because he could of meant male otaku for all I know.

Yes, thus proving Agafin's point, that it has otaku appeal (though there are other cases like Bleach). An anime is mainstream with TV ratings which are significantly more important for a daytime anime, not disc sales. That's why Gintama wasn't as long running as Naruto, because it's TV ratings weren't high enough, so they now release separated seasons.

Yes, TV anime movie versions, thus Ghibli movies would not qualify as the movies are not adaptations of a TV anime franchise.
