The series has done well for as long as we have data for. It's one of Kadokawa Beans Bunko's bestsellers, and that means it's one of the bestselling light novels aimed at a female audience. It's worth noting that these series tend to have relatively stronger tails to them than other light novels, which may be part of the reason why only the biggest hits (which is a category that Shounen Onmyouji definitely falls into) even show up in the rankings.
I didn't know that the series is popular. It's really nice to know that it's one of Kadokawa Beans Bunko's bestsellers. Hopefully the 'strong tails' you mentioned is enough to warrant a second season someday.

You know that list goes up to July 5th. First episode of the anime adaptation was the 5th in the morning. And that was a Sunday. That may be one week too early for expecting any effect, don't you think?
I expect no less than a 300k boost.

I hope you mean across all the volumes, and spread across the entire cour, because otherwise you're setting your standards way too high. Even that would signal a really spectacular result for the series.

Interesting to see Shounen Onmyouji ranked. Maybe wishing for a second season isn't that hopeless at all.

@Snow
I am now satisfied with how you present the bunko/book/LN/literature lists now! Thanks for taking my inputs into consideration.

Sorry for one last nitpick, but perhaps it'd be better to add the cut-off numbers as well for bunko/book/LN/literature lists? For Bunko this week, rank 45 is 5,695, but the rank 50 cut-off is 5,551. It'd give some more insight on how much a release needed to sell to make it onto the lists for a particular week.

Something like this...
50. *5,551 (Cut-Off)

Onto the actual list, this confirms my suspicions that Amazon JP did not make a typo, and actually intended to release it on June 27, rather than the officially given date of June 30.

I concur. If it doesn't sell well, fuck the light novel industry.

I'm not sure something that slow paced is going to please anime fans a lot. We're getting a good adaptation it seems, but a good adaptation of something that doesn't really fit the proper target audience on the anime watcher side will just be an anime that will please those reading that LN already and will not bring a lot of new buyers for the LN. Well, let's hope I'm wrong. But something like a rushed adaptation of danmachi has far more potential to raise sales than a proper adaptation of RnY imo.

Ah, and forgot to look at the bottom list :

14. *5,320 **7,717 Youjo Senki Vol.4

That one is a very good volume getting out. Almost as hyped for this one that I would be for a RnY volume 6. Buying it tomorrow. Can't wait to read it, really. That novel is awesomely fun to read.

Oregairu still going strong, shame to see Accel World drop out this week, think it would've passed the 100K mark anyway. Date A Live sales still strong as well which is fab to see.

11. 14,528 *14,528 Shinmai Maou no Testament Vol.8

Add the sales from the LE and it's doing well. Long and painful wait until BURST though. Hope that gives it more of a boost than S1 did.

Good for shinmai.... And your forum avatar... Looks familiar. XD
I loved that girl......
