I assume that should be a "do" rather than a "don't". POS is the point of sale ranking, which is a different ranking to the one released by Oricon. This only includes ranks and not sales figures, but publicly releases all the top 500. Unlike Oricon, they also do daily rankings (as well as weekly, monthly and yearly - which follow calendar months/years unlike Oricon), and also usually release the rankings earlier in the week than Oricon does. To read it - on the left is the rank figure, and after that is the volume title. The original data source is http://shoseki500.blog.shinobi.jp/ although I get the data from http://book-rank.net/ which has an easier to use format for finding/extracting specific series. |

Hongu said: YEEART said: Japan always has shit taste. Keep that in mind.Welp, seems like the Japanese aren't enjoying Rokka no Yuusha. That's not really relevant. It's airing at like 3 in the morning. At this time, only a very precise audience is watching those shows. Shows like overlord with Oretuee heroes or shows with ecchi/moe little sisters and the like have far more chance to appeal to japanese otaku watching late night anime than RnY ImO. Especially the episode 1-3 of RnY as I said last time have basically nothing to please them. That doesn't mean none of them appreciate, I see quite a good amount of good comments from their side as well. But the word 'plain" and "nothing happens" comes a lot in their comments. And after 3 episodes I can't really blame them for that. They're used to show that finish a volume in 3 episodes. So obviously a show that finish 1/3rd of a novel in the same time will appear as plain and slow. One can only hope that episode 4-6 will break that problem. Oh, and RnY 6 is getting out in a few hours, too. And so is NGNL 7 as well. |

^ Considering that Rokka is only going to run for 12 episodes, I find remarks such as "nothing happens" pretty fitting. 1/4th done and only fairly bland buildup (?) just doesn't do it. Getting the group together is always kind of tedious in adventure anime though. YEEART said: Welp, seems like the Japanese aren't enjoying Rokka no Yuusha. I can only comment on the anime bc I haven't read the novel but so far I found it to be a bland start to an adventure series with weirdly designed/clothed characters and silly names. Not paricularly helpful for boosting LN sales. |

Getting the group together is always kind of tedious in adventure anime though. Well, sorry that they're not in school uniform and don't have japanese name then. And not in bikini armor either. That part isn't going to get any better no matter how much you wait. As the opening shows, the characters coming next, one is in rags, one has a frog like costume and last one is in a blue priest garment. And still no japanese names here. As for the fact that 1/4th was spent in building the story, I personally don't find any problem with that. For once an anime studio isn't afraid of doing such. Due to that they won't sell so that's a fail from a commercial point yes. But lots of highly praised anime story don't start quickly anyway. Shinsekai Yori for example was extremely slow to get interesting. Took like, 12 episodes or something? That's what happen when you reduce the number of page adapted per episode. Madoka magica was terribly bland until the end of the third episode as well. As a result, the quality of the story rise, but peoples with very short attention spawn will get bored. I'm personally enjoying the episodes very much. They're so full of details and nice sceneries/Nice music. I've seen far better way to get introduced to the necessary informations for a mystery than that. So, ordered RnY 6 and Ngnl 7,a s well as a few other older volumes. Damn I'm not lucky lately with the out of stock. Lots of volumes I want keep being out of stock just when i want to order them. I thought that this time that was going to be the good time but noooo, again 3 volumes became out of stock in the last 48 hours. damn. |

TheNaturalPerm hates on everything. Best to just ignore him. Just to ask, what do you count as out of stock? Actually unable to order or do you count anything with a 7-21 day wait as well? (assuming you're ordering from honto) Because sometimes you can get things with a 7-21 day wait listed after just a day or two, while other times they'll be cancelled from the order at the end of the 21 days because of them still not becoming available. Even if you're not prepared to wait the full 3 weeks you may as well put them in the order in the offchance that they become available quickly anyway - you can always cancel them if they don't. |

The sales have been falling continuously since new testament volume 2, with the drop between volume 3 and 4 being the largest proportional drop from comparable time periods. The drop seems to be a case of a big drop followed by it levelling out somewhat for a few volumes, before then dropping away again. This volume seems to be one of the drops. I wonder how much of that is down to the sheer length of the series now - this is the 35th volume (or 38th including SP and SS), after all. |

My point is that you can have an engaging adventure story without naming your character Piena Augustra Nashetania Loei, or Humpty Hans (that one is the very best!). That's just silly and takes away from my enjoyment as I cringe at those things. Chaos Dragon is a similar case from this season where the character design is just soo out there... And yes I'll be watching it till the end. I don't really mind slow starts. I just find critique on pacing and "blandness" fitting so far. |

I wonder if this will be a continuing trend in later volumes, Index might be losing its edge in Japan. Actually, this may be rising the chance for a third anime season. If the sales never drop, they'll see no need for it after all. So depending of the case, that may be a good news. |

My point is that you can have an engaging adventure story without naming your character Piena Augustra Nashetania Loei, or Humpty Hans (that one is the very best!). That's just silly and takes away from my enjoyment as I cringe at those things. Chaos Dragon is a similar case in this season where the character design is just soo out there... And yes I'll be watching it till the end. I don't really mind slow starts. I just find critique on pacing and "blandness" fitting so far. >nitpicks about how characters are named I don't even. |

He said to ignore you because you hate on everything, proof being you just nitpicked how the characters are named, yet you called him ignorant when he actually has a point, people should indeed ignore you. |

Sorry, maybe that's a difference in culture/country we live in, because I absolutely do not see the problem with "hans humpty". Not at all. And I'm serious here. Care to explain because I don't see the problem. What makes the name silly? And same with Nashetania. Long names for royalty are completely common both IRL and in fantasy settings. So, simple question here. Aren't you imposing your point of view (or the point of view from your culture/language) as what name is silly or not? Same goes with peoples complaining about Fremy's name as well. What's the problem? I don't get it. And if it's cultural/Due to your own language, why do you think that it's silly even for a Japanese? So, why are you complaining about names being silly from your pov if for japanese they are not? Did you even think about that? |

If I hated on everything I wouldn't like as much anime as I do. He is picking from a small sample size. If ind comments such as "Wow great episode" extremely boring so I tend to point out the negative (if existent) to at least have some kind of discussion. People call it hate because they are butthurt. Nitpicking about names does not equal ignorance. You really do need to pick up a dictionary :D Now to Zefyris: You do have a point there but I did write that it impairs my personal enjoyment. Not that it has to be the case for everyone. Me being a native german speaker is probably the biggest factor of me finding so many of these names cringeworthy. Humpty Hans...How do I even explain this. Hans is a very simple name and usually only a nick to shorten "Johann". So Hans is basically something you call your buddy and very rarely used as a...Let's call it true first name anymore. It sounds like the very epitome of a troll name to me. Especially in combination with Humpty which sounds like a cutesy nickname of sorts. So yes. I think it's a cultural thing but I still find it strange that so many japanese randomly use german names for the heck of it. The poor voice actors. |

True, my bad. I misread. But names weren't even my main point. *sigh* just an add-on of what else is kind of blegh in the show. There is nothing of value, no interesting discussionto be had in comments such as "great sales for xy" so I usually refrain from saying things that "say" nothing. |

It isn't that easy to just say it was a joke in the end. We are talking about the anime community there are people out there that generalize like that. |
