Well, except that Da Capo anime adaptation was numbingly dull. With two sequels not any less duller than the original one. Tenchi franchise on the other hand was an absolute riot that i enjoyed thoroughly.

I've been meaning to try the series for a while.

Weren't the three series seperate OVA's and then were the 26 Episode TV Version and Magical Girl Pretty Sammy?

There is the Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki OVA series, which was 20 episodes released between 1992 and 2005.It's spin offs GXP which stars Tenchi's friend and War on Geminar/Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari which star's Tenchi's little brother.

There is special called Galaxy Police Mihoshi Space Adventure.I believe this is a stand alone special.

Tenchi Universe tv series which is a different continuity . Two films sequels to it are Tenchi Muyo! in Love 1 the first movie and Tenchi Muyo in love 2 which is the 3rd movie.

A stand alone movie Tenchi the Movie 2: Daughter of Darkness. This is the second movie.

Tenchi in Tokyo tv series is a separate continuity.

Magical Girl Pretty Sammy.Spin off not connected to the series other than the different incarnations of some of the Tenchi Muyo characters.

Magical Project S.Spin off not connected to the series other than the different incarnations of some of the Tenchi Muyo characters.

Sasami: Magical Girls Club. Spin off not connected to the series other than the different incarnations of some of the Tenchi Muyo characters.

Battle Programmer Shirase. It is a spin off/seperate cannon of the Magical Girl pretty Sammy ova and tv series staring Misao Amano and her uncle as the main character.

Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure.A stand alone series in the same or alternate Universe as the Tenchi muyo series.

Photon: The Idiot Adventures. A stand alone series in a alternate Universe as the Tenchi muyo series.

El-Hazard a sister series to Tenchi-Muyo.

Not really sure how to feel about this... I mean the series isn't bad but does it honestly deserve this many reincarnations? Seriously type in Tenchi Muyo in the search box and look how much stuff pops up. Sadly I admit I've seen the majority of them. Personally I thought the second movie was the best instalment of the series and I doubt it will ever reach those heights again unless they pull a Rozen Maiden 2013 on us. Anyway The world of Tench is an interesting one, I just hope they don't do another GXP, cause that shit was awful.

Oh hey. How nice, a new Tenchi Muyo Series coming up- ... 0_0
5 MINUTES PER EPISODE?! NOT THIS "STAR WARS CLONE WARS S1" SH*T AGAIN! (not referring to the 2008 CGI series)

I skipped around this series a lot when I was much younger, and a coincidence too since I actually planned on marathoning Ryo-Ohki since I got my hands on the BDs.

You should check it out. I haven't seen the 3rd OVA series... or the films... or Universe/Tokyo- anyway... it's surprising good.

And here, I thought the franchise was quite dead.

More is better.
