Earlier today, composer and music designer Satoru Kosaki announced via his official Twitter account that he will be going on an indefinite hiatus. He cited health problems and illnesses as the causes. This information was also posted on his group, MONACA's, website. The post includes an apology and a thanks to everyone for their support.

Kosaki (as a member of MONACA) is well-known for composing music for several hit anime like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Lucky☆Star, and Bakemonogatari. More recently, he worked on the TV anime series Captain Earth.

Awwww, I hope he gets better. On the other hand, it seems like it could be seen as good that he's taking a break to get better rather than trying to tough it out and perhaps get worse.

I hope this isn't inappropriate, but has anything about what's going to happen with Captain Earth been mentioned? Did he finish his work so now he feels he can take a break? Or is someone else going to take over? Or (though it would seem unlikely) could it be delayed until he's better?

Hmm, I wonder if this'll stall further installments of the works he's composed for [e.g. Monogatari].

He's pretty much the only reason why I felt the need to continue watching Bakemonogatari.

His music is incredibly good and I hope he gets better soon.
