Need more info and if it's an award winner why does it only get an ova adaptation?

I don't know what this is, but I'll watch the OVA because of Yui Horie.

Oh, that actually sounds interesting, even though it's only an OVA.
Maybe they could make a TV series in the future of it.

An anime about maiko could be interesting. Plus, Yui Horie! I'll probably read some reviews before I watch it, though.

Direct DVD huh? Interesting. The style reminds me of Hanasaku Iroha.

Geisha according to wikipedia

Geisha eh? Should be interesting.
They are better than geisha in many ways as they are geisha girls in training. So they are still having fun, learning how to dance, pour sake, play music, have good conversations. Once full geisha they seem to be much more serious, older, not as much fun.

In Japan when the maiko are walking down the street in their colorful kimono it is quite a sight!
