It gets tiring sometimes going through posts on this forum that have absolutely nothing but silly, hateful posts. It's like.. if you have nothing nice to say about certain genres/anime, keep it to yourself or atleast keep it constructive.
another person that thinks positive criticism = "right on keep doing what your doing" negative criticism = "oh no no no thats wrong stay quiet"

and thats why quality is decreasing

The Japanese studios only care about your money, so import stuff that you like. They don't care if some random foreigner is complaining about the kinda anime being made. But they will take notice if a lot of foreigners start to import non moe/fanservice stuff.

That would be a valid argument if you were Japan's target audience.

You seem to think what you say on English speaking forums matters to studios. They don't. If you posted on 2ch and/or other Japanese sites then your argument would be valid.

Since this isn't 2ch or a Japanese site, all you and others that make similar posts are doing is ruining it for other people here that just want to enjoy anime. Afterall, we're literally just bystanders to the studios in Japan. Feel free to rant on your profile or a blog because it serves little purpose on the forum except to ignite flame wars.

Also, your post wasn't exactly negative criticism. It was just you rambling about how the type of shows you don't like keep being made, while the kind of shows you do like are few and far between. That's just the result of demand in Japan, and your inability to accept the fact that you aren't their target audience. Japan love their 'cute' and 'fanservice' shows, thus studios will keep pumping them out.

Lastly, I'm sure you've heard of quality > quantity. It's pretty ironic since you complain that there's a lack of 'quality' shows, yet if there was an abundance of them they wouldn't be 'quality' shows anymore. Why? Because then they'd all start being similar to each other much like what's happening now with all the moe, harem, and fanservice shows. Not that I'm complaining since I adore those types of shows.

There's a little bit of everything for everyone every season. Try not to complain if a few shows don't suit your tastes and just be glad you wont feel overloaded in a season.

shows sell off quality, just cause the rare POS like k-on gets through doesnt mean they all work, most of this cutsy bullshit shows fail hard and are never heard of again

"Quality sells, except when a show I don't like sells, in that case it's just a fluke and totally not quality because I said so."

Oh hey it's this garbage again.

Shows sell well if a lot of people (who buy anime BDs) like them. Period. Quality or lack thereof cannot be used as an explanation because what quality is varies enormously from person to person. And the reason people like one show will often be completely different from why they like another show. Going through mental contortions to justify your own tastes and cast all exceptions as aberrations is ridiculous.

What you like individually is of little to no significance. Same goes for what I like. Success can only be measured in the aggregate, across fandom as a whole. I import the shows I like best, to encourage more like them to be produced, so in that sense my opinion matters, but I'm only one person. And people who don't import at all are even less relevant.

Step back a moment and realize how stupid you sound when you try to claim the success of K-ON! and of Durarara!! are somehow fundamentally different. Entertainment exists to entertain, and to make money. They both did that. Your nastily worded little opinions don't change the fact that they're all trying to do the same thing.
Great post.

It gets tiring sometimes going through posts on this forum that have absolutely nothing but silly, hateful posts. It's like.. if you have nothing nice to say about certain genres/anime, keep it to yourself or atleast keep it constructive.

Posts that make you come off as some douche that thinks their views on anime are absolute are annoying. For once I'd like to actually read threads/posts here that promote constructive discussions instead of the common trolling one-liners like "that's a bad anime wtf" or "lol more moe/ecchi wtf is this shit"

Why can't we all just get along and respect each others tastes? We're here because we love anime. Insulting others people's tastes is counter-productive and is detrimental to having any sort of actual discussions about anime.
