GONZO To Announce New Project of Last Exile [Update Feb 7]

According to Tokyo International Anime Fair 2011 official website, GONZO will announce a new project of Last Exile at the exhibition. The title is "Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam" and the protagonist and the mecha designs will be renewed.

If you are going to be in the LA area this summer, you will be treated with the premiere of the series at Anime Expo. The official site for Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing announced that they'll be premiering the series at the convention during the four days it runs. More information will be posted on the Anime Expo website.

Oh yes I cant wait for this, what info has been released so far sounds good. Director Koichi Chigira will be directing this one too, Range Murata and Makoto Kobayashi are returning to do the visuals (so they should be stunning!) and Hitomi Kuroishi will be doing the music, hopefully that means another stunning OP.

Im guessing form the fact its set on a different world than the first means the Exile from the first was not the only ship sent out from Earth (which makes sense), the presence of Exile is one of the few confirmed details as are Vanships. The Fam of the title is one of the 3 characters confirmed so far all 15 year old girls, Fam is a Vanship pilot. Giselle Collette is a close friend of Fam and the third confirmed character is Milia il Velch Cutrettola Turan a Princess of the Kingdom of Turan which is at war with the Federation of Adesu.
The title translated is Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing

I pretty excited for this but I really am curious as to how they'll continue the story. Whatever, can't wait for some more steampunk action.

Um... I'm really not sure about this. Revival of Last Exile just seems so weird. It's almost like they are grasping at straws. I'm really not expecting this to be any good.

I don't see how they could continue it, but we wil find out wont we.

*Note* all of the flying ships are drawn by CGI, they do look a lot better in motion and not quite so close up. but I do agree that pic isn't very good.

I'm excited about this. I enjoyed the first Last Exile. It's one of my top favorites. So I'll be looking forward to it.

YES! I hoped for a direct continuation when I heard about it, but more Last Exile is always good. I hope the old characters will make some, at least brief, appearances, though :<

Cool, I wonder if this will be an OVA or a second season? And for those that saw the first season--I wonder where this show will take place...

Mecha designs? LOL. I was so confused for a second there. Those are airships, not mechas. Or is anything large and metal called a mecha these days?

Does anyone know what Ginyoku no Femme means?
