| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Great episode overall. Suppon meets Setsuko for help and she refers the boys to an old house in a remote place. Setsuko comes back with emergency medication and food for the boys and starts to look after An-chan. Ishihara goes berserk and decides to kill Baremto, Heitei and Cabbage using the same water torture method. An-chan begs the boys to return to Shonan Disciplinary School to save the other three. The boys hold a rock paper scissor and decides who to go. Joe goes to save his buddies and pulls the best act since strangling Sasaki (wow and was in the last episode as well). He gets himself caught and meets Sasaki and Ishihara. And becomes all bossy and claiming that if anything is to happen to the three, everyone will get to know what actually happened to Hagino and that Sakuragi still holds the letter that Hagino left him before dying which clearly states who were behind his death. Days have passed and Sakuragi is passed his release date, even if they are caught, they won't be able to keep Sakuragi in Shonan, so practically he is safe. Setsuko on the other hand, keeps on looking after An-chan and the boys and keeps bringing them food and all. Mario and Suppon decide to relieve Setsuko from all the hardship and go out to look for jobs. And Suppon manages to find a beautiful middle aged woman looking for someone to face in a boxing match. Suppon makes up stories about Mario and gets him into the ring, apparently a boxing competition held between American soldiers and Japanese civilians. And just when you think here comes the money, Mario gets beaten to his last seconds of life, even the referee overlooking it intentionally, but comes to rescue the same woman who hires Mario throwing her shoe at the opponent. Suppon and Mario, dejected and demoralized sit outside the American base, and thats when the female version of GAR a.k.a the middle aged woman appears and gives them some gutsy words. Apparently, she goes by the name 'Lilly' and is in your Character List in MAL page. :P Thats all folks. Next episode is 'Vengeance' and An-chan will be there to bring the boxer out of Mario. |

| Its great to see the episode subbed so early... Funimation is finally making some progress. Anyway, this episode was a nice change of scenery, the detention center or w/e was starting to get old. I wonder how long it will be until they get caught or go back (if they do)... |

| I am watching Dongs sub, The sub only last for 50 second while the rest are raw........ Even Mario has a permanent injured hand,but I hope he will not give up his dream.I hope he will go to tournament again and be the best boxer that the crowd has ever seen ^^ i think I fell in love with the Narrator ^^ |

| Hooray! We're Ashita no Joe now -But seriously, this was a fine episode. Though as I expected, the match would be those evil Americans beating up the poor helpless Japanese man. Then again, it's not like it could be disputed that things like that did happen there. -Man it is good to see Ishihara owned. (looks like he's back next episode. Crap) -Who else is MarioXLilly? :P |

| Funanimation subbed it, sigh, Forstii is sure taking their time. Anyway, AWESOME episode.Very touching and I was sitting at the edge of my seat. Beautiful. I'm glad the doc/guard got put in their right place, dam scrubs being threatened like that. They really are just all talk. Can't wait for the next episode. |

| Finnaly found it subbed. Sasaki and Ishihara learned their lesson for now , lest hope they stay like that for a while . An-chan's feeling better and his relationship with Setsuko is improving ;). Great episode. |

| By very far the best episode of the series. The main difference between this episode and the previous ones is that it was a gray one, powerful, moving and bittersweet at the same time. No biased morals or pseudo-epic developments, it made sense, was very realistic and almost Ashita no Joe-like at the end. The comparison between the reconstructing Japan of the 50's and the prison was made quite clear too, as the characters seem less free now that they have fled and their friends are enjoying an easy life in Shonan. It's precisely to enjoy these kinds of episodes that I wanted to watch the series. |

| I mostly agree with Jacut. What I especially like is what Lily told Mario about him not being a real man. Anyone who thinks these kids were real men or 'manly' in the first place were very, very mistaken. This was easily the most mature episode they've aired yet. |
| Great episode! I really didn't expect Ishihara and the doctor to get defeated yet (if they are).Also loved Joe showing them who's the boss :). But I feel really sorry to whereever Ishihara transfers to. He's gonna rage at his new victims to blow off some steem. This series started good, then got a bit worse but is now recovering and getting even better. Want to see how this turns out.. |

| Mario got schooled lol. This ep felt like Hajime No Rainbow. Seriously, An-chan IS Takamura's Seiyuu, get him in the ring and let him wreck people lol. I seriously am glad Gay Doc and Ishiwhatever are gone now. I hope they stay gone for a long time. Sakuragi's got Setsuko on lock. |

Best episode in the series, loved everything that happened, and the loss was a hard lesson for Mario. Couldn't help but sigh but and go "typical American behavior" when they got a kick out of beating the shit out of citizens of a very defeated nation at the time. |

| Wow I guess I was too negative last episode :P I didn't think they would get Setsuko to help, and it's convenient that they have a place to stay as well. I'm glad they're able to move on now, and Jou. Fucking badass. Love that guy more and more. His confidence was overwhelming against Sasaki and Ishihara, finally the rest won't have to live under that terrible treatment. parfaited said: Mario learned the difference between fighting and boxing. I like that. They might have been in a reformatory center but they are still kids. Yeah, Mario and Suppon were too naive to think that they could win the match, but of course that's not bad, it's a good start for them to learn about the world more. I love how Sakuragi doesn't reprimand them but instead tells Mario that they will be training ^^ Lily seems like a cool character too. |

| This anime is definitely special, love it. But ishara is looking for them i guess? I wonder where we go from here, i don't want it to be purely focused on his boxing. I can't wait for the meet up under the tree though, i will cry so ahrd i know it. |
