Not a big fan of Hanako but it was kinda interesting to know more about her character including some background story.

Decent action this episoe though. Nearly all the relevant cast got in some screen time to fight those mud monsters. Hanako needs to control her emotions better though.

First decent episode in quite a while for this show. Man, I can't say enough that if this had good production quality, how much potential this could have had.

Nice to see Hakudou beating the shit out of Yuuhi. And she looks cool with her newly transformed pet knight too

Fighting for Taro! I honestly wasn't feeling this episode at the start but came around as it went on. Yuuhi fighting Yayoi was a major letdown so much so that it genuinely pissed me off watching it. Yuuhi didn't even really try, he never used his holding field against her. Yayoi unrelenting strikes not letting up for a second while Yuuhi just keeps running straight at her with no real plan. It just overall pissed me off, capped by Yayoi saying she loves him. Idk about anyone else but confessing your love after beating the shit out of someone feels really cheap to me.

Whatever the rest of the episode was actually good. Taro memory driving everyone to fight that knight golem. Seeing Hanako take her emotions back after Taro carried them for so long made me cry. I was bawling my eyes out during their flashbacks and then again later when everyone fought the golem. They all loved Taro a lot and had spent precious time with him. Hanako especially, her massive attack at the Knight golem as she let her emotions out had me crying just like she did. A very cathartic moment for everyone as they grieved their friend.

This is a funeral episode, I love how everyone dress in black, even a traitor like Taiyou Akane also has black armband.

The eleven eyes golem revealing itself when nine and ten eyes are not defeated yet is like Apple announcing iPhone 17 when 15 and 16 are not selling yet.

But I'm terrified at eleven eyes, it's not just stronger, it has personality as well, it's a proper character, a shapeshifting one. If I remember correctly there'll be a total of twenty golems right? I can't imagine any golem beyond the eleven eyes now.

She killing the golem was the first moment in this series that the voice acting sounded convincing to me.

I'm not gonna tell the exact number because it might be a spoiler, but there aren't that many left.

The emotions in this episode were very well layered and gave us a build up to the final moment which just made your heart sting jus a bit more that I haven't seen in an anime in a while R.I.P mouse knight.

I’ve been one of the biggest haters of this show because of the awful adaptation, animation etc etc. but I will give credit where it’s due. This was a phenomenal last couple of episodes. Tarou story is really tragic, my boy deserved so much better and the fact he’s not able to be with the girl he loved.. fuck. At least his killer is gone now and he can truly rest in peace.

Not only that, he confessed his love to her and she answered "I know". That's such a sad way to die.

I really wish another knight died instead of him. He was my fav and I had him for such a little time :(

Hakudo and Amamiya's battle...sadly doesn't feel like one, it felt like Amamiya chickened out to let Hakudou have Invincibility.

Taro is gone, and Hanako felt like she didn't even have sympathy for the one that loved and died for her. But almost inexplicably, Animus using Shinonome warped as the 11-eye golem as a threat to both Amamiya and Mikazuki, it's also a trap to all other Beast Knights as well, most especially Hanako who saw Taro being alive.

Hanako and Tarou's backstory that's exactly like how childhood friends grow up alongside each other, and she cared for him like any other sibling she had. That's how she was able to tell the truth from falsehood, and that episode was there to claim her calm and collected emotions. She's done being the studious student she is, and becomes a fighter against the golems, avenging for Tarou's sake. I'd thought that it's fitting for all Beast Knights to don funeral attire in full spirits of avenging for Tarou together, despite the love-hate relationship they all have with him.

Easily the best episode to date of overwhelming emotions.

Well, that was a super underwhelming and anti-climatic battle between Amamiya and Hakudou.

Aside from that, this episode was legitimately sad. It felt real bad to see Hanako in mourning. I'm honestly pretty surprised she managed to turn herself around. She must be pretty strong to sink so low and be able to rise back up. It really is a shame she won't be able to reach a happy ending with Tarou.

Man, this would've been an emotional episode if Tarou had gotten any character at all before the episode he died. Instead it's just hollow and somewhat funny watching them mourn this plank of wood

So the MC jumps in front of Hakudou once to help her...with a power that is not even his, after being absolutely pathetic for the whole time
And she falls for him and straight up loves him immediately huh
Wow...i am kinda enjoying the anime despite all the hate and the awful CG mud blobs but man this is just so stupid
Rushed doesn't even cover that lol
No chemistry, no interactions, no buildup...just "Oh, he jumped in front of me once, guess i love him now"
My girl Yayoi deserves so much more than to be lumped with that guy...

Yayoi absolutely handing it to Yuuhi.
Snake→cool dragon "Invincible
Mantis flush.
Eleven eyes??
Hanako lived her whole life giving all she had and sacrificing everything all for Tarou...
Taro left her life suddenly, leaving her completely empty with no dream or motivation...
The more I think about it the sadder it gets.
She named her special move after Tarou...
Great shout.
Instead of being trapped and stuck in the sadness Hanako decides to move forward with the help of Tarou.

It was nice to see Hanako's character change in this episode, although the switch to sad music after defeating the ninth golem was overly prominent, ruining the poignancy of the moment, and the fight itself was shown almost sketchily.

Read the manga, though that's a given. He literally has a whole 3 chapters of full-on development and interaction with the rest of the cast that was cut.

So I finished reading the manga today.  Definitely better then the anime but uh the "whole 3 chapters of development" got cut was quite the exaggeration for Tarou.  There was maybe like half a chapter worth of stuff of him that got cut max.

I could've sworn it was more... First they cut out his interactions with Rooster/Turtle Knight early on, along with the entire build-up to his death with Hanako, and also his parts in chapter 35, that is all I can think of off the top of my head... Maybe 3 is generous but certainly more than half a chapter?

At least they did Hanako's remorse quite well.

Yeah there's a lot of stuff that got cut out that really shouldn't have been.  I think the snake knight probably got the worst of it in terms of cut content

Agreed, and the fact that the Samidare Family arc was cut to around 1/3 of what it should've been really hurt Asahina's development. They even cut out her confrontation with Animus, which for me is one of the best moments in the whole series. It doesn't matter anyhow, as the scenes that did get animated were complete ass anyways because of the awful facial expressions, pacing and animation... Such a blunder for one of my favorite series.

Yeah, I feel really bad for anyone who was a long time fan of this series.  Over a decade of waiting after the manga ends and all they get is a crappy adaptation

If one good thing can be said, there were reprints of the manga, so now a volume wont cost you upwards of 100$ for used.
