On what speed do you usually watch anime?

I mostly watch anime on 1.5x if the sub titles are light and easy to understand
for example:- One Piece.
but if subtitles are kind of bulky (Steins Gate) or has lots of side notes in it (Gintama) I watch them on 1-1.25x.
This was suggested to me by others when I was new to anime. It was a bit hard to keep up for a few days but I got totally used to watching at those higher speeds.
Kinda curious about what speed most of the people watch anime on...

uh oh you stepped on the trap card
sorry to say, but as soon as your processor unwittingly boosts the anime speed to 1.01x, the entire holy meaning bestowed to it by its creators has been forever ruined, and you can no longer have an opinion on said anime

Really? care to explain how?
I don't think it has anything to do about having opinions unless I understand the anime.
Also, whenever I watch openings, I do go back to 1x in case you are wondering about it

There are only two valid speeds, 1x and frame by frame.
1x for regular watching and frame by frame so you can make fun of crap animation and see the tricks used in good animation.

If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

If you watch anime in any speed other than 1x, you immediately lose all respect in my eyes. Also like someone else said, your opinions don't matter anymore on any anime. If you have to watch at 1.5x then you don't have the time to watch anime and should stop watching it.It seems like watching anime has just become a chore for you, you just want to increase the number of episodes you have watched instead of actually enjoying the anime which is the whole meaning of watching anime.

If anyone here is watching anime at any speed other than 1x then I sincerely ask you to stop.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

I actually usually watch at 2x speed , it's not that im not interested or invested enough to watch at normal speeds like a normal human being but it's just how I did it once and now I can't go back. I set it to normal speeds when it's a fight scene or if im eating but 90% of the time im watching at 2x. The habit started I think when I first rewatched some of my favorite anime and only did it at the slow parts but at some point I just kept it at that. My dopamine receptors have been fried since I've had a pc since I was 5 and my attention span is like that of a kid with adhd so you can't really blame me.

Same for me. Whenever I try to go back to 1x it feels slow for some reason. Tho I think 2x is a bit too much

These people will skim through anime and then rate it 5 or lower because they aren't enjoying anime at this point. If you want to speed through the story, maybe just read the manga/light novel instead so you can speed read as fast as you want to.

Usually watch Anime at normal speed because I want to experience both the Animation and Voice Acting. However, if things get too boring I'd raise it to 1.25.
People watching Anime at 2x speed are weird imo, I would rather read its Manga than do that kind of thing.

1,3 to 1,6.. Everything faster sounds terrible in my ears, and everything slower seems like slow-mo.

Hate it, too, when people talk slowly (which mostly is normal).

It doesn't matter how fast you watch them as long as you enjoy them.

When I'm not as committed in the series, I do get the temptation to speed it up. But I rather read the manga if I don't have much time.

But it shouldn't really matter if people choose to watch it on 1.5x or 2.0x speed or skip OPs/EDs. Whatever floats your boat!

As an extremely busy executive who needs to fit in all my anime watching between important business meetings I never watch at less than 3x speed. It's important to have an encyclopedic knowledge of all anime ever created in order to humble and humiliate the plebs on that other side of the bargaining table who watch at 1x speed.

Oh, what's that? You don't think our cross functional team will create enough synergy for a 10% ROI next quarter? Well I bet you also don't even know what the fuck is going on in Yu☆Gi☆Oh! GO RUSH!! right now, so your opinion is irrelevant.

It's a flawless tactic that works every time and is the reason that I'm a titan of industry.

I never really manipulate the speed, i watch at 1.0. There are exceptions though. I sped up this really boring anime i bought on dvd, Himawaritoo!.

I had to slow down Teekyu because it was way too fast. It seemed like if i blinked, i'd miss half of what was said.
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

If you ask anyone who works in the anime industry and has a teaspoon of experience or passion if playing their work on 2x, 1.5x, or even 1.25x speed, they'll probably laugh at you.

Ask an animator if timing, anticipation, acceleration and deacceleration, and the amount of in-betweens matters in animation

Ask a composer, sound designer, or voice actor if the speed and pitch of the music, sound, or voice matters in their work

Ask a writer if their stories' pacing wouldn't differ if a sequence or event that's ought to be 10 minutes long is squashed to 7:30 or 5 minutes

There isn't a nicer word for this but playing a piece of media in its intended speed is just respecting the folks who made it, i.e. not fundamentally compromising their vision and hard work just because you don't want to drop a show.

1.5x/2x depends on my mood/what type of anime I watch and I don't f care what people think about it, it's still the same and deal with it. (Yes I watch everything at 1.5x not only anime)

Reason - > Dialogues are slow and they feel more natural

Music -> I like more faster music, especially that I was doing my own nightcore stuff so it fits me

12/17 FPS? -> The more points to bring 2x for that especially when action/any stuff is slow af

Reading subs? -> I am not an illiterate person x)

I stick to the original pace because I watch anime for entertainment purposes. It is a matter of when I feel like watching. And more importantly, I don't want to ruin creators' work. The time gaps between scenes are intended to create suspense and excitement.

This. People who watch at 1.5 or even 2x speed must think watching anime is a competition and it will give you some kind of status. You wont get any respect because you watched 1000 anime

Quick question, how the fuck do you enjoy ost's at 2x speed
